@extreme100rpd there isn't much technique involved with ground and pound... except positional control, which he was doing well. Idk what you are smoking
its not to KO the opponent is mostly to weaken them, when you hit the opponents head, even a hit like that can make them dizzy, and anything that hurts your opponent is a advantage to you, not everything is about strength, it's also technique =)
Wanderlei silva was a UFC fighter even before he entered pride for the first time, also Dan Henderson, Vitor Belfort, Mark kerr, Mark Coleman, Josh Bartnett..they all have done very well pride..next time research before you post.
u know what to do for the armbar exercises, get a long towel or sheet and tie it around the bag about a foot from the top and let the slack represent the arm.
it's a shame Pride was bought out and defunct by UFC... do you find it odd that a bunch of Pride fighters have been losing in the UFC? is it because the veteran fighters are old? I'd like to know what you think about it... whether it's age or they're not used to the UFC rules
Roids my friend. Pride fighters where not tested for anabolic agents. Wonder why they where all superhuman lol Roids help, getting tested makes it harder...Sherk, Franca and others make fighters think twice about it
Most professional athletes do. They use steroids or some sort of other aid know as sports ergogenics. For example it doesn't mean a because a guy like Mark Coleman was never caught for steroids use that he never did some. They all did at 1 point in their carrer. Vitor Belfort went from a lean 225 to 185, how would that be naturally possible? lol
We're talking about 40 pounds of lean muscle. It would talke the average man 3 years to complete such a task. And it took Vitor a few months
First of all, the transition into a cage from a ring.
In the ring you can corner people, and cannot be pinned against the ropes. In the cage, you cannot corner people, and can be pinned against the cage, thus favoring wrestlers, whereas the ring favors strikers.
Second, the weight cutting. In pride, alot of fighters fought at natural weight, so weight cutting is not something they are used to... it takes some time.
Also, i do not believe that the steroid testing policy made a big difference, because you can easily cycle the steroids out of your body, and we all know that as of now there is no test for HGH. Actually, it is surprising that people get caught using roids.
But again, pride fighters who used them werent used to washing them out, so that might have an impact.
let's look at the notable fighters who made the pride-ufc transition.
Herring - Since his pride days he had very weak TD defense, and since the ufc has ALOT of wrestlers, it would be a no-brainer he would be losing decisions.
Anderson Silva -U know how he's doing
Rampage - Did a pretty good job, even though he lost his title, he can still get to the top.
Nogueira - Ufc champ.
sokodjou - Lacks experience, looked bad vs machida, but who doesnt?
Wanderlei - Close fight vs Chuck, and KO'd Jardine.
Dan Henderson - Lost his belts in 2 fights, but the fights were against the best, and he did well in round 1 vs silva, and lost 2 rounds - 3 vs rampage.
Fabricio Werdum - Lost a fight vs decision arlovski (although he now seems to have got his fire back), he then TKO'd gonzaga and Vera.
Cro Cop - Ok i agree he looked NOTHING like he did in the pride 2006 GP.
So all in all, the Pride fighters who went to the UFC arent constantly losing. they are doing pretty well.
Oh and i forgot about the weight cutting part, since a lot of pride fighters fought at their natural weight and didnt cut, they are all of the sudden much smaller than their counterparts in the UFC, because they do cut weight, to have a size advantage.
So maybe moving down a weight class from what they were used to fighting, or packing on more weight would help.
yeah that arm bar at the end was a nice touch. overall gem! make a youtube full workout info style video? Bas rutten did a gem few. btw agree with headbutts opinion
nice, you should try to incorporate some cupped slaps to the ears and head butts and elbows are the shit on the ground illegal as hell in modern mma though
I dunno about head butts...they can be useful in the street but you can cut your own forehead while headbutting and you surely don't want this to happen on the street so lol
i love how he doesn't use his index and middle finger nucles lmao brake ur hand bro
