  • i is an aussie too bro.... so i got one question.....dude. do you have the new mk? did ya order it over ebay? or are ya crying your self to sleep like me? :P

  • uhhh how do you play your n64 on ur pc man?

  • the ps1 version mk trilogy has everything right the music are in the right stages and some of the levels are not changed,

  • why is there so much mk 3 music in the lvls havent played n64 trilogy in a while still have the cardtridge

  • I like how the N64 version got the combined ninja Sub-Zero, he could do ice freeze, ice shower, ice clone(which returns for MK4), and ground freeze into the mix.

  • Hey could anyone tell me which is better for the N64, Trilogy or 4? I ask because I want to buy an MK game for my N64.

  • PC>PlayStation>Saturn=N64

  • kind of nostalgic for me the first mk game i ever played

  • so this is the closest i can get to mk 1,2,3 on the n64......because i dont have a super nintendo but i want to play the first 3 mortal kombats but again i have no n64...and does this come with the first 3 stories...can someone explain plz?

  • u idiot it sucks on n64 i have it on ps1 and its fucking awesome! none of what u said happens like the tunes on the star bridge

  • for me , MKT on N64 was the better MK join "9". Not load Shang Tsung morphs, AI really WORKS the adjustment YOU choose; all chars has finishing moves; the "fussion" of Sub-Zeros was better than having the MK2 Subzero and the bad MK3 SUbzero; a shame Goro and Kintaro weren't in there as bosses, but meh, the 4 playable bosses suck at PC/PSX/SS versions. This is a very complete game, hidden characters (and fighs like Khameleon), Pong game, Space invaders game... is the only reason I own a N64.

  • Thanks for playing.

  • I was playing this today, and I noticed that even if you turn off Throwing in the cheat menu, the CPU will still be able to throw you. That's ridiculous, they shouldn't have even bothered to put the cheat in if it doesn't pertain to the computer as well. Especially considering how fond of throws they are.

  • whats a snez version?

  • ARE U SERIOUS?

  • I started pissing myself when u were like shut up, thiss music is too happy or something. Lol

  • you can do this cheat where you can unlock a blue and red question mark in the options

  • loko podre eu fumo ele no MORTAL COM OS PÈS

  • do u get the red ? on the options mode?

  • good review!

  • About the soul exploding thing: refer to the soul cages in the background

  • what the whoopsie sound?

  • @taitlawrence "toastee"

  • I think it's a given that the computer always cheats in the 2D Mortal Kombat games. They just have a different way of doing it in this one.

  • lol, love ur reaction with the MK music, funny i got rid of my n64 but never my snes cos i got ultimate mk and that was the best

  • Love your Mortal Kombat reviews and considering how much your love you have for it i think you be a great challenge and i would love to battle you on MK2 online on PSN. If you like to battle please add me my psn name is jacktsang05. Ill be looking forward to it :)

  • Sadly this game is proof the N64 is inferior the playstation in technical terms (the games for it are awesome though). It isn't Midways fault why the graphics are grainy they had to squeeze this big game into such a limted size. the N64 could only handle games at most up to around 30 Mb and that's likely for games that used the expansion pack. The Playstation if it used the CD rom format I'm thinking of it could have possibly held up to 700 mb of data.

  • @aperson98 oops I meant up the N64 could hold up to around 64mb not 30mb I was thinking of the wrong thing my bad

  • I never liked the MKT on N64 also many of the games sucked on N64 besides Golden eye and Mario Kart

  • @fpvshitsonhsv Never played Rogue Squadron? Or Jet Force Gemini? Or Star Fox 64? Or Paper Mario? Or Super Smash Bros?

  • @kaihedgie Yeah i was a bit harsh but Nintendo pissed me off back then when they whent downhill after the sony thing. I used to root for the SNES for years then they just strated falling apart but you are right there was a few classics made on the 64

  • @fpvshitsonhsv Falling apart? Hardly. One of the Gamecube's launch titles was one of the greatest Star Wars titles ever, Rogue Squadron II. Sure, there was no Mario title, but they really went all out when released the Gamecube, just as they are with the 3DS now

  • old school mk games are my fav...the new ones arent shit compared to the likes of mk 2-umk3....I want to take you on in a few matches my friend.

  • Yeah MKT is really bad. I have it on PS1 and it's littered with bugs. Trilogy is essentially a cluster fuck game. Which I don't even consider part of the series.

  • the sound in the N64 just sounded like Puke

  • @BlackPoisonxX HEY DO U KNO IF TMK TALKS ABOUT THAT NEW MORTAL KOMBAT MOVIE PITCH

  • I have and love this game

Noob saibots disabler is awsomely cheap

  • Maybe I'm wrong but I think those 2 boxes in the character select screen are for female chameleon and human smoke, not motaro and shao kahn. anyway trilogy is one of my favorite mk games

  • @HumorousTeIevision no right about that u had to enter a code to play Motaro and Shao Khan

  • I really enjoy all versions of this game. I like the N64's extra modes and PS1's extra characters. :D

  • if u hold start 4 times on johnny cage in mk 4 and make sure his character mugshot spins 4 times and u get his bad ass suit i think if u do it 4 times on reptile or 6 u get his ninja suit

  • The muffled sound reminds me of playing MK3 on Midwar Arcade Treasures 2.

  • your review is evil Mk trilogoy is awesome ness ecity to the extreme

  • They should also pay attention to the homebrew Mugen versions out there. some of the ideas are cleaver including the made up sprites of later characters. They should take mythology sub zero sprites too, add every single version of every 2D character made and every level ever made and just make one final worthwhile 2D game for old school fans instead of re-releasing a new port of a classic

  • Personally I think Midway should make a new 2D anthology for the old MK. Midway should review every single port they created and take the good things from each port to make an ungodly version of this game.

  • reviewing MKT for PS1 and N64 is a double edged sword. I think The Pace in the 64 version is much faster from the PS1 version down to the combos when they are on auto and no loading time at all. I like the exclusive features in this version from the 3 on 3 fights to boss fatalities to the extreme "Hard" mode and in a weird way classic sub zero is better because he is fused with human sub zero's moves. Plus the cheat menu offers more content than ps1.

  • Now the 64's problems are the music, even the SNES versions of MK3/UMK3 have better quality music let alone the CD quality of the ps1. The graphics/sprites seem too "cut and pasty" compared to the ps1's smoothly rendered lighting and shadow effects. The classic features were gone, the MK1 and MK2 versions of characters, levels and MK2 music. The Pit 1 and lost MK2 star pit being redesigned was unnecessary. Some animations were taken out of the levels such as the monks clapping in the courtyard

  • Also due to the cuts in features the N64 version sometimes feels like UMK3 than MKT. Now the ps1 version was just too slow. long boring loading time even for shang tsung morphs was total bullshit! It doesnt help that the music's pace was slowed down to add to the lagness of the ps1 port.

  • the two spot in the middle in the 64 version are for khmelon and smoke human

  • the n64 version was cut down way to far down. The only thing that they had that was good was the fatalities for motaro and kahn. The playstation version kicked this ones ass

  • Something that bothers me with this version is like with the AI in MK3, they are block happy, blocking things that if a human was being playing against you, they couldn't react in time. Also another wtf moment was when I was playing against Liu Kang and he did his bicycle kick twice in a row one after another, where if you were to do it, you'd have to hold the Low Kick button a few secs to do it.

  • Yeah, I never understood why they always had to switch around the music for the stages on the home ports of the Mortal Kombats. How hard is it to assign the correct music code to the correct stage? The SNES ports of MK1-3 where the only ones that didn't screw the stage music up like this.

  • I like both versions but PS1 is better because you can play the classic Kano, Jax, Kung Lao, and Raiden, and play as the big boss guys to beat the shit outta the normal fighters lol

  • the audio is bad because cartidges weren't capable of the same audio quality of CDs.

  • someones at the door 2:32

  • the music at 7:19 sounds like circus music XD!

  • TMK, I love your reviews! I like them because its not that typical "directly recorded" style. It's good to see you play the original game on the original console and I don't mind the use of the camera to film the gameplay. Keep it up man!

  • Hey i've got a cheat for you if you still have this game, when your at the character screen, go to Sonya's icon and hold up on the control pad and press start, then you can choose what arena you want to fight on! For me I got to the Pit or the Portal or something like that.

  • But before you choose the arena, pick your fighter first.

  • there is a cheat to unlock human smoke and khameleon

    cheat is: 113-840

you have to enter it on the ultimate kombat kode after you have been defeated.

  • whenever i play this or UMK3 on the sega system, my brother would always beat me with Noob Saibot

  • Just a couple things bro, all the music in this version of Trilogy is actually a take on the MK3 music, even in the MK2 or MK1 stages. The classic versions of Raiden, Kung Lao, Jax, and Kano, are not in this version, and I know those two dragon symbols can hide Human Smoke and Khameleon behind them. I know there is a way to pick Motaro and Shao Khan simular to the Human Smoke method in UMK3, by holding certain buttons before a match starts. I love your MK review look forward to the next batch!

  • With all do respect and I mean this will all do respect dude. I think I would get in that ass as far MK is concerned. I respect your vast MK collection, but you should really consider coming to the States and competing in MK tournaments in Philly.

  • Id love to! I love MK tournaments...but I am the best at the old school MK, I would still give the newer tournies a shot :)

  • I wish you'd come man, it would be interesting. You're probably the biggest MK fan I've ever met and I'm interested in how well you'd do PVP.

  • Comment removed

  • you are the biggest mortal kombat fan and for that reason, i challenge you to mortal kombat. do you accept or yield?

  • @TotalMK Do you play UMK3 on Xbox Live or MK2 on the PSN?

  • @TotalMK I nver actually personally come 2 think of it, had a problem with MKTrilogy on N64. I've always thought (with kintaro & goro bein absent) it was like playin UMK3 on SNES (u kno like u said the sound is compressed and also like that ver, u had to input cheats in order to access the 2 main boss. one thing i can say however that i really love about the N64 ver of this, is that at the intro u get the fighetrs battling it out in diff'rent fights (the disc vers didn't have this) like arcade.

  • This game is a bit different, so what? It has things that make up for it.

  • Got your ass handed to ya! @ 6:05 lol

  • Comment removed

  • goo goo gaa gaa!

  • sorry was in a bad mood didnt mean that i like d ur suz zero mythologies vid allot actualy i remember when i rented that game is totatly awsome

  • Comment removed

  • Compulsive.

  • the two boxes in the middle are for smake human and khemolen

  • how the hell did you make your n64 play on a pc screen ??????????

  • I think the monitor has RCA input?? I'm thinking of getting a VGA convertor, but the first one I bought from ebay never worked.

  • como pusiste el menu rojo y azul

  • Sorry TotalMK, the commente is for rey4624, you not understand my language:

para sacar los menus de signo interrogacion rojo y azul en la opciones, presiona rapidamente los botones en la pantalla de historia:

    A,B,C-Izquierda,C-Arriba,C-Derecha,C-Abajo,A,B,B,B,A,A.

Si lo hace bien escucharas la voz diciendo "Oh-Woah" y en la pantalla de opciones ya puedes accesa los los menus de signo interrogacion rojo y azul. :D

  • the ps1 version of this game was much better than this one this version was okay but it was not as good as the ps1 port

  • I always liked the N64 version better than the ps1 one. No load times and Shao Kahn acutally says "Round 1" and "Round 2" before the fight. i think its actually put together better than the ps1 cause all they did was just cram characters into it and thats it.

  • "Shew shew shew......What the fuck for?" lol I love these videos. 5*

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy better on ps1 10 times better!!!!

  • this game was far better on ps1 i think it had more characters and stuff

  • in this u can pick shoa khan and motaro look it up on cheatcc

  • i am playing TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA DONKEY KONG as we speaK!!

  • Toasty! :D

  • do you had to play with any attachment

  • Hey dude, really loving the reviews you do. But, I can give you a few helpful corrections on this one. Alright first off, on the N64 version at the start screen that comes up when you first turn the game on, press top c, right c, down c, b then a. Go to the menu and you'll see a blue question mark box, click it and you'll find that the two hidden characters in the fighter select are Human Smoke and the female Chameleon. Oh, and the N64 version doesnt have the MK1 or 2 sprites. Cheers.

  • i dont even care if the music is all jumbled up i just want to buy the game

  • cool review man thx a lot

  • actually I read in a web site that shao khan realy can also steal souls of kombatants, which is weird because he cant morph into anyone

  • I BEAT THE GAME I JUST CHEATED IT

  • noob saibot is not a so called "noob" its the last name of two producers aka boon and tobias =)

  • never caught that! the Noob saibot name

  • tobias boon :)

  • @IdolizingVilleValo it was called noob after saibot the creator of the game left . so they only use noob after

  • The PlayStation, Saturn, and PC versions of the game only have twelve boxes for the Kahn's Treasure Cave screen at the end of the tournament, whereas the N64 version has twenty-four to pick from.

  • i like your reviews but here you screw it up

    Nintendo 64 exclusive content

    3-on-3 simultaneous battles.

2 secret games that does not appear in psx or saturn version.

Exclusive classic sub zero fatality wich neither umk3 or all mkt version didnt have and Goro's Lair → The Armory → Kombat Tomb (N64 version only)

  • btw the extra hard endurance choose your destiny screen is only on n64 version

  • i have the ps and n64 versions of this game and i dont think you mentioned the extra hard choose your destiny screen, instead of pressing up+start on sonya to choose a level press either left or down+ start on kano depending wer the side of the character screen i forget were abouts he appears on there. u get to fight all the bosses and endurances

  • Trilogy got a 8/10 from me it was a great game!!!

  • it was mk2 jax not johnny cage lol and you can maul with saibot if you ca n figure out how man!

  • I can understand why your giving this 6/10 with all the music being jumbled up and Kintaro and Goro not being in there and the muffled up sounds and the looks of some of the stages missing 1 or 2 things but once your able to 4get about those things like i did and enjoy the gameplay then the things you didnt like about it dont matter so much. I had a blast playing this game when i was younger and i was happy nothing had to load so for me i would have given this an 8 or 9 out of 10.

  • i gave it a 7.6/10

  • I freaking love this game. Even though the music is jumbled up, I freaking love it since its Mortal Kombat 1, 2, and 3 mixed in a blender

  • i love that game but im still going to get it on PSX brand new!

  • i've never actually heard someone say 'SNES' as a word, lol

  • tmk have you played ultimate mortal kombat trilogy yet

  • I dont play the unofficial MK games

  • okay

  • hey tmk i have this version the hidden boxes for me were khameleon and smoke not shao kahn and motaro. is it possible that theres different versions for the n64?

  • eepkay akingmay oremay idsvay lzpay hanktay uoyay

  • are you playing the pal version? looks a bit slow... and the n64 version also lacks unmasked Sub Zero. but thankfully no loading on n64.

  • PAL verison is faster than the NTSC version...I am playing the PAL version.

  • what the fuck are you talking about. i first had the pal version...after once seeing the ntsc version i had to get rid of the fuckin messed up pal version because it was once again 17% slower than the US version. this is the first time i hear anyone say that the pal version of mkt is faster. with Mortal Kombat 2 for example Acclaim indeed did speed up the pal version in order to compensate the 50hz slowness, but even here pal is only faster if run on a modded 60hz console. otherwise same speed.

  • another big disadvantage of the pal N64 is the terrible video output. By far the best quality you can get is with an RGB modded japanese N64. Then you will have superior video quality, no more black pal boarders (besides a few cases where even the ntsc games had boarders...but in these cases the pal version got an even bigger black pal-frame) and no more fucking 50hz slow motion. And you can play all japanese and US games without the use of adapters. all this you can´t get with a pal n64.

  • 1 of the biggest flawes on the playstation version was the computer NEVER made fatality, no pits not even brutalities. And that was just so stupid. The thing i like bout mktrilogy is u have 2 fatalities, 1 pit, 1 friendship, 1 babality, 1 animality and 1 brutality to memories for every character wich gives u over 150 finish moves and that really rules on mk trilogy

  • Great review :) I really agree on the sound part.

But the 2 boxes in the middle is not for Motaro and Shao Kahn, but for Human smoke and Khameleon (female)

  • There actually quite a few extra combos and moves over psx, mainly No loading. that was the worst thing about psx, The LOOOOOOODDDDIIIING, IN tense 2 player fights....after a decade on and off with psx mk trilogy, I got this on n64 and think it so so much fun, Its got all these weird little added things. FUN FUN 3 on 3 player fight. The loading is what swings it n64s way for me and that you can uppercut through 3 levels he he,Best background graphics on n64 as well if you really know your stuff.

  • 7.20 lol, your reaction

  • Lejos es el mejor mk casero, trae 5 personajes menos, pero no existen tiempos de carga como en psx y otros.

Graficamente tambien es superior a psx, en sonido es inferior, incluye 30 personajes y 30 arenas.Juegazo

  • the music's sounds too fucking happy or i don't know Funny

  • 4.10 i have nothing against the n64, it has a few half-decent games, but the graphic quality is no more impressive than the PS & SS, and the sound quality isnt even as good, also it cant play fmvs, the only game i have seen that does have fmvs is resident evil 2, 64 bit my ass

  • i personally like both PSX and N64 versions equally. they're very different in some cases, and i respect that.

  • Like the way you talking in your vids, it shows that you realy know your stuff!!

  • Hey don't forget that N64 also have the "3 tier uppercut". You can uppercut your opponent through 3 stages.

  • Playstation is way better than Nintendo 64 for Mortal Kombat Trilogy.

  • bgasman posted: "Playstation is way better than Nintendo 64 for Mortal Kombat Trilogy."

Agreed. Especially when the bass kicks in when you're doing a combo. Love that crap.

  • yes of course that game is awesome very awesome

  • i def. agrre MK II is the best EVER!! the sky view of their body as they fall to their deaths!! its bogus how they cant throw them to their deaths... that made me sad/bummed out!!! =[[ MK II: best MK ever!!!

  • This version is better. Great game! This game and GoldenEye are the only games I still play on my N64.

  • kintaro is tha shit

  • I personally like this version better. Audio is shit, but gameplay is solid and NO LOAD TIMES. I have both versions and loading times just ruin the psx version for me, so does the shitty A.I. The psx A.I. is just incredibly frustrating. It's like fighting Jade every single match after you get past match 3, then when you get the game over, the game over screen has to lad, then the intro sequence has to load, then the menu has to load, then the character select has to load, then the match has to..

  • i grew up playin this game which is why i still like this version, oh and i dont have the ps 1 version even though i wish i did. Where do you find it??

  • I wont show any MERCY either TMK i would love to fight you at any MK 2,3,U3 4 YOU NAME IT DC anyone of them good Review

  • 7.11 if you dont show any mercy while playing then you must never do animalities

  • It really annoyed me that they left out a lot of stages; namely Palace Gates, Throne Room, Warrior Shrine, Smoke's Portal, Noob's Dorfen, and also that Bank and Desert are mixed up in the stage order. The mixed up music thing you mentioned also annoyed me. It's like they were trying to piss us off :P

Anyway, really enjoy your vidoes, TotalMK.

  • im with you on the pit 2 fatality becuase that one was awesome

  • i like the review of special forces because is very funny and thanks tmk for your videos

  • i dont care about the music on any game let alone this, i dont care that you cant play as bosses and i dont care that you cant do one button fatalities, this version is the greatest

  • No, the playstation version is the greatest.

  • but there are some awesome features in this that you dont get in the playstation version

  • That's true, however I find that the ps version had the better features. It had ALL the characters which include all 4 bosses and the music was in the correct order. I'm not saying you're wrong because it's your opinion, I just find that the ps version stayed more true to the name. Plus, it was entertaining to play. I will say that the n64 version had better loading time though. The ps loading time was a total bitch lol.

  • Bigger doesn't mean better

Loading times are non-existent in cartridges. And besides, can you really stand to tolerate long loading times? Loading times that occur when Shang Tsung morphs or when a match is starting

I may also state that while the PSX version had slightly better sound quality, the music in the game was slowed down significantly for no apparent reason, plus it didn't even have any UKKs as far as I can tell, so I dun't quite see how it's 'true to the name'

  • the two boxes are for khameleon and smoke

  • noob saibot = boon tobias witch are the two mian people who made the game

  • Thats a rumor man, everyone knows thats bullshit...stop lying to us!!!!

  • ahh your porably right but thats a great conicence

  • its true! Ed Boon = Noob

i think the other person was John Tobias = Saibot

    combined Noob Saibot

  • It is not, stop makin g up rumors!!!!

  • yea put tmk wont listen i dont think it was on purpose

  • ... has anyone noticed he's just being sarcastic?

  • Hey in this video you made of a review of MK:T for the n64 what are you playing it on a tv or something I'm kinda stupid lol sorry and also I'm thinking of buying the old systems like the N64 again but witch systems would be great for the old mk if you can please reply thanks

  • It's a monitor with composite inputs on the back.

  • Thanks bro

  • I have this game for ps1 and i lost it :( man those good old days, playing as bosses and beating the shit out of normal characters.

  • i love mkt on n64 its so awsome and killer instict :D

  • Dude i love the MK series and i must say your reviews are very good! Keep it up =)

  • I agree with you TMK, Midway should have put in the Pit II stage fatality in this game and like you that fatality is also my favorite stage fatality as well. One thing I dislike about all the MK Trilogy versions was that all the MK1 stages look like crap. Audience not moving or clapping in the courtyard stage, no clouds in the pit 1, and no creeping eyes in Goro's Lair. The only good stage from MK1 is the Pit Bottom.

  • TMK the Middle Dragons are for human smoke and khmilion if u put in a code at the story screens (up-c left-c down-c abba if u did it right it says ahhmah) then go to options and there shuold be 2 more ? there

  • They did have kintaro and ShoKhan

  • Did I would LOVE to play any ver of MK. The N64 was one of my fav ports. Even if it sucked. But NO LOADS!! I HATE LOADING FOR FIGHTING GAMES!!!! So 1 of my fav. Along with the 32x mk2.

  • well actually i see why u called it crap but i always thought of mk as just fighting and no story

  • mkt for n64 was awesome! now for playstation... that 1 sucked.. super slow and had horrible noise

  • finally someone who agrees with me n64 version ftw =)

  • I must say that I like both versions of mk trilogy , but the most close to arcade is the one on the playstation ; in terms of gameplay .

  • for my 9th birthday I wanted this game for n64 cause I thought it was alot of fun but when the game was still available my mom kept complaining about the price so I had to get the ps1 version and as soon as I got up to motaro I was like, "where's motaro's fatality" on top of that the music wasn't spectacular as well and it wasn't the proper arcade music so whats the point defending this piece of shit anyways, I was pissed when it didn't come with the little music after you win/lose (goosebumps)

  • 6:47 toasty!

  • did u even read what i said

this version is good and the best BAR the arcade version

the pc version is a hell of allot worse than the n64 and the psx is even worse than that with painful loading times

  • No, It's a peice of shit and the AI sucks. Arcade is always better than home.

  • mortal kombat trilogy in the ps1 is my favourite

  • ps1 version sucks try the sega saturn version for size!
