I love this woman. I saw her years ago in a Joan Crawford film. She's a real actress who is notorious for playing a villain. FTT is a terrible film but she makes it worth watching.

In the mid 80s I dined with Betsy Palmer on several occasions when we were guests at monthly parties hosted by our mutual GP. She was lovely and treated me kindly. Im embarrassed to think how shallow my conversations must have been at the time. I hated horror films & had never seen Friday 13th. so Im sure Mrs Palmer must have found me to be an escape. The truth was that I didnt have a clue! A truly lovely down-to-earth lady with an innate charm!

Best movie serial killer ever. Sorry Freddy and Hannibal Lecter, but Mrs Voorhees was the most terrifying. She could bake you a nice tray of cookies.....then chop your fucking head off, drink your blood and make a shrine from your bones if you complained that the cookies were a little too sweet.

After Kevin Bacon's finished with his girlfriend, he smokes a doobie and gets stabbed through the neck by Jason's mom. Angela was great too. Bruce Springstein's sister played angela. I think her first name is Pam.

Whoops! Pardon the goof. Forgot to mention that Palmer appeared in FRIDAY THE 13TH and not that other big 1980 horror film that opened around the same time as FRIDAY, that Jack Nicholson starred in whose performance I was comparing hers to.

Betsy Palmer's Mrs. Voorhees scared me a helluva lot more than Jack Nicholson's Jack Torrance in THE SHINING.Considering how scary Nicholson was in THE SHINING thats quite an achievement. To be scarier than Jack.And Mrs. Voorhees still gives me the chills every time I watch that film.And she always will.
