During a recession governments use should use expansioary policies to either cut taxes or decrease gov programs, to shift aggregate demand to the right, expanding the economy. This of course means debt will go up but under Clinton debt went down because he had much less spending to initiate under good economic times. He used contractionary policies to bring down inflation through growing gov spending and increasing taxes, which hurt the economy.

Yet, the first thing he did when he got in was created entitlement programs that TRIPLED Bush's deficit within a year.

@forevershining1 Another moron who missed the point. During the Bush admin....anyone who didn't wear a lapel pin was Anti-American, hated America, shoud move to France or Canada and eat Freedom Fries. Why did Scott Brown get a pass on that for so long or why is Lapel Pin thing less important now?

Scott, I could not agree more. Our Congressional delegation here in Massachusetts are just a "rubber stamp" for those people spending out tax money like madmen in Washington. My children and grandchildren will be paying off this debt for the rest of their lives. Someone needs to speak up and I hope it's you when you're elected.
