I don't follow hockey, I may not have my facts straight, sorry. Mike Modano scored a career milestone point on this play though. I do think he's now the career America-born NHL scoring leader.
No, actually they discredited his point after this game. Modano was really frustrated that he had to stand up and acknowledge it because he knew he never touched the puck. Last night, however, he both tied and broke the record.
just have to say I was at the game as a huge sharks fan, and i cheered both times. modano is one of my favorite american players, and he deserved the cheering.
not many people cheered when he broke the record though, dunno why. his first goal, everyone was standing in clapping though.
I think that the fans at the Shark Tank didn't cheer as loudly for his second goal because they were frustrated that their team gave up 2 goals in less than 3 minutes. I don't think it had anything to with the record.

Good for Mike. He's only got 383 more goals to catch Gretzky's record. Not bad for a frost-bitten Canadian Boy.
