  • Now I'm going to show half of you how to brake your playstation 3, and presto:)

  • Yo this is my old account.I wanted to let you know this does work with PS2 games. And this PS3 in the video STILL works I traded it to my buddy he uses it daily. Just make sure that you WAIT FOR THE ORIGINAL DISC TO STOP SPINNING BEFORE YOU SWAP. It takes about 15 minutes. I have used OG PS1 games to load Burnt PS2 games and vice versa. once the disc in the PS3 passes the first check you can change the disc as many times as you want without needing another OG disc until you turn it off Rate up

  • I have the slim ps3 and it can play ps1 so isn't that a little unnecessary?

  • @xraider169 Whoops missed the backup part in the title xD sorry.

  • yer clever first time ive seen this vid looks like it works of the same principles of the first ps1 where u opened lid placed original disk in held down lid button untill disk spins once or twice to get sony licence off disk, then u switch disk with copyed game and the system is non the wiser lol

  • what disc do i use oh good sir?

  • whats ur ps3 model? i mean ur GB because if you have under 60gb u can play ps1 /ps2 without hacking , cracking , flashing ...

because i have 320gb do it work?

  • i have a ps3 model cechk01 and sony says that this model can't play ps2 games is there a chance to play ps2 games like the video?

  • question can i burn to a dvd+R disc

  • watz a psx?

  • ps3's have feelings too :(

  • fool you can download crash bandicoot directky to your ps3

  • paperweight

  • Tell me one day you can play back up PS3 games and i will say WOW

  • ins't their a chip on the ps3 were it prevent it from being played

  • @1qazwsx333333 yes its the "ranch corn chip"

  • or put tape on the 3 sensor of your ps2 like i did now i can just swap an original ps1 game to a copied one as soon as the playstation logo apears :) dont break your ps3 holy (@*&#

  • NONNNN OMG POOR PS3 U SICK PERSON!!! GET A PS2 and play your old games!!! u are using an ariginal game anyways! :(

  • no point..... hopfully sony will release a add on to play ps2 games on ps3

  • dude you make me cry i see you open the lovely ps3 idk why but i can't watched that you opend it

  • if you but ps1 game + ps1 it wont even cost half what ps3 cost ..

lol if the ps3's laser fuckd up cuz u run ps1 , 2 games what will ya do?

  • you are a idiot what are you doing ps3 can already play ps1 games i ashame of you

  • dumbass

  • how the fuc a dumass

  • we all know ps3 is capable of running ps1 ORIGINAL games but not backups! Thats what he's showing us...

  • and it will run imported games like bleach blade battlers 2

  • @pkemr4 yes however most imported game require a save file to load first, cause like Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix+ doesn't load when u click new game but if you load a file it will work fine

  • it cant dude only the old version could :P

  • Awesome. This worked for me. It's was very easy to do. Thanx man

  • this works like a charm, my blu ray dont read ps3 discs no more and i got a ton of backed up ps1 games so i'v been messing around with my ps3.

  • well u rather buy a ps1 for £10 and do swap magic

  • what happens if u try a ps3 game like that

  • Don't think anyone has been able to succesfully burn a ps3 game..

  • YEP HE DOES HAVE MENTAL PROBLEMS

  • o.O

I like ps1 backups as much as the next guy,

But I think I can deal with a little swap trick with my ps2 to play my backups until something better comes out.

Voiding the warranty on the ps2 was no deal :P

But when its my ps3..No thank you sir.

  • Well i don't have a ps2 =P

  • i MIGHT do it but oh my god.... lol i MIGHT MIGHT MIGHT do it now but i don't have any CD-R cd's right now... lol but then again i COULD play ff7, ff8, ff9 and MGS1...

  • i wouldnt open the 60 becuase it has the dream engine 2 inside so you dont have to worry about the ps2 games but i would open a new 80 or 40 becuase all you would have to do is replace the hdd which is less expensive so really i would just buy the 40 and replace the hdd.

this just really seems pointless i would never open it either and im a somewhat modder.

great vid though im not going to hate.

  • can you give me the crash bandicoot disk ? =(((( !

  • Oh no im not gonna open my ps3!!!! i have 60gb version it coust in finland about 700 euros!!!

  • id be too scared to open my ps3

  • Yeah, but software exploits do exist. I'd much rather use a memstick exploit vs taking the entire system apart. you do realize that youre exposing the blu-ray laser. and stoping a disc in motion in order to swap isnt the best method..

  • your ps3 is loud

  • thanks!! i found this very helpful,, and it did work!! : )

  • what a dust ridden t.v does it play blu ray..o sorry

  • The pieces that fell apart are these little circular black things.

Four of them just fell out as i was holding it. I need help to put everything back into place but i dont know my way around the bluray drive.

  • MY PROBLEM: hey i need help and i cant send it to sony (they wont accept it without proof of purchase and i dont have it because i bought it from ebay). Anyway a year later i have a problem. My problem is that as i was trying to fix a problem i had with the bluray drive i created another problem. i fixed the first problem but now pieces have fallen apart (the things that allow cds to be sucked in or ejected). So now i can play games only when the ps3 is dissassembled.

  • i press the eject button when the game is in the ps3 (in the menu of the game) have a problem???

    please ansuer.

  • Thats all nice and all but what will really impress me is if u put that ps3 back together in that dirty ass house.

  • i would like to try that but i am afraid of destroying my ps3 also does this work on the 80gb the new?

  • yeah

    me too

  • Hi there, it seems that your ps1 original disc stops spining after a while the ps3 have detected it as a original disc, and when you change for the backup the disc is stoped, but i have tryed it myself but the original disc don't stop, is allways spining, even if im have not the disc highlighted in the ps3 menu. I have to stop myself the disc with my hand and change for the backup, do you know how to stop it? or it depends on the game? i have tryed it a swap magic disc and it won't stop too

  • Yea on mine after about 3 or four minutes the disc stops spinning. Try this put a ps1 game in and then leave it AND DON'T TOUCH THE PS3!!! For about 2 hours. If it is still spinning then maybe it only works on the first generation ps3's or something i don't know. If it isn't spinning you just haven't been waiting long enough. The reason the video was cut was because it takes a while to stop spinning.

  • Thanx, i allready have tryed wait a long time and nothing, but is strange because with a blu ray game disc it stops after a few minutes

  • damn i use to love tht game there and i use to think those ps1 graphics were good ,but there horrible

  • there will be dust in the ps3 and than he'll shutdown lol

  • No, wrong again angry youtube folk. Actually it will be much LESS dusty because i frequently spray it with canned air (for electronics) and i always keep it closed when I am not using it to play backups.

  • 1:14

  • Oh.... im not sure what that light is (maybe it was my camera) but if you look early on the 14th second you can see the blue/green light.

AND you can obviously hear it.

  • Well, explain the RED light then wich indicate that the PS3 is OFF...

  • Ok first you are totally NOT seeing a red light. The light is NOT red. Where do you see the red light?

  • This is fake. When he changes the disc the power led is RED, wich means it's turn off. But then he still has the picture left on the TV, maybee he's got an another PS3 hidden with the original game in...

  • YOU ARE SO DUMB

I don't know what you are talking about but it isn't fake i do this so much!!! Go look at other vids of this if you don't believe me.

  • u play ps3 like this ?or you put it allback toghether

  • When i am not playing burnt games i just put the case back on like it was in the beginning of the video =) nobody would know

  • yeah nice video dude i love to see that sony systems are sticking with the swapping exploits ;) and the only dmg i can see happening is dust in the lens but you can blow that away or keep your ps3 covered so i deem it completely safe ;P

  • Thanks! Yea i only EVER open it when i am actually playing a backup (which actually isn't that often) and any other time you wouldn't even know it's taken apart.

I know! You would think they would have fixed the same mistake by now.

  • all that just to play some backups

  • Holy crap, you have gutted the ps3!! The stupid mistake I made, regarding to consoles ,is that I had cut my ps2 in half to swap for backups..(using swapmagic, lost the slider and became out of control..) After months of gaming like this, the ps2 was open, a lot of dust came in it and fukked up my disc laser etc....

  • dude i feel your pain :( its a lot easier to do if you got the slim

  • haha yeah.. (1 year after breaking the damn thing open, I found the slim back............)

  • That sucks man!

Yea i would never do anything to my ps3 that wasn't fully reversible (i still have everything in a little ziplock bag safely in my closet) the alternative is to solder a switch on but i don't want to fuck with a 500 system like that.

  • ah well, at least I will keep my ps3 intact.. it was a sore lesson to learn

  • What was the point of that. Your game like didnt even work. Sure you got to the main menu. But it like didnt work. THIS is why i keep my chipped ps1 & 2

  • What are you talking about?

This definitly does work. I use it almost daily.

    Your just stupid XD

  • When did you do that for the first time? And is your PS3 still working? Oh man, I am scared...

  • I first did this over 5 months ago and my ps3 still works great! just be careful and very sensitive thats all

  • agreed, stop being assholes people!

    nice video dude! :)

  • Wow sweet how long did it take to take apart the ps3

  • It only took like 20 minutes. You barely even take any of it apart. All you take off is the top cover and the metal plate on the bluray drive.

  • Hey dude, thx for making this video. Can't understand why some people have to be assholes to someone who puts up a video showing something as cool and usefull as this.

  • Thanks man glad to know somebody cares haha

  • Wow you guys are dicks i make a video and show you how to play backups on your ps3 and all you guys do is make stupid comments. Go make your own video assshole

  • omg wot a faggot get a life wot the point makin a vid wen ur not talkin

  • buy a new tv

  • lol

  • why don't you friggin talk?

  • Dude wtf? I explain the whole thing in the summary do i really need to talk in the video?

You don't have anything productive to say?

  • no.

  • so all you really need to do is open it remove the white thing put an original game let it pass the security then switch disc to back up? is it really that simple or am i missing somthing

  • Yep thats all you have to do, the best way is to put a disc in, then power off the system. While off, pull off the clip piece lift the top half of the drive then put a original game turn on then once it stops spinning replace the disc with a backup

  • Holy shit it worked!!! thanks man i owe u

  • haha it was supposed to! just make sure you don't do it while it's spinning

    Flying discs are dangerous

  • just for anyone thinking this is a good idea, think carefully, this is a pricey console, and i know it looks awesome but things go wrong so very easily when you have it open, and esp. when the disc drive is opened. its meant to be closed for a reason, and I am not just talking out of my ass here, i have done this and while my ps3 still works -_- enough, it is not in the great of condition. its really not worth it people.

  • This is true it is dangerous if you are not careful but worst-case all you would have to do is buy a new disc drive for it. It wouldn't be totally ruined or anything

  • how would I go about that?

  • I found one on ebay that works. it is $100 but that is better than $600 for a new one. Is yours broken?

  • eh, kinda sort of I just messed with the disc spinner things too much, and now they wont push in the disc right. It still works just fine, so I am just going to leave it alone. Thanks though

  • No problem. By the way though how did you mess it up? Im just curios so i don't do the same to mine

  • well its hard to say what went wrong, but I am sure it is because i kept putting it on and taking it off, cuz i wasn't sure if i should, Just leave it how yours is and it should be fine

  • ottimo!!!very good!!

  • will this work on a ps3 40gig

  • This works on all ps3s with all firmwares so far

  • omg i've broken my wrench on that Blu-Ray cover xD concretly on these small screws... i must buy another one, they are too small :-|

  • What??? You broke the tool or stripped the screw?

  • tool :-)

  • Hahaha thats pretty amazing

  • Im going to try it...

  • Good luck!!!
