  • would this be considered an advanced pattern? i used to crochet when i was a kid (10 or so years ago), and i just decided yesterday i wanted to pick it back up again. The only thing i ever learned was a single and double crochet, only in a straight line though. The biggest thing i ever made was a scarf, but i really want to make an afghan with this pattern because it just looks amazing! Do you think it would be a bit too challenging to start off with once i get the hang of things again?

  • beautiful will try this later thanks for posting.

  • ive seen this stitch a lot lately but no one had anything written for it, THANK YOU!

  • do you know how to make a swing bag using that design ? if so pleaseee show it to us so we could learned on it....

  • This is a neat stitch. I may try this for potholders to start since it is so thick. And then a blanket when I get more adventurous! LOL

  • to hard you go to fast

  • Thanks mike for teaching this stitch...I can easily understand the pattern bcoz u are teaching it very well and you are a good teacher. The pattern is awesome. I am a beginner and I wanted to do a scarf in this pattern. I will attach my video response as soon as i finish my scarf. Thanks again....

  • I love the fact that you mention things as you go about how things might not look quite right. When i first started crocheting it was frustrating for me to not see the pattern go the way i thought it should. I was fortunate enough to have my seniors as a resorce for any questions i had. So to see you now mention the little things, like possible miscounts, or how a pattern might start out looking a little off is refreshing and mutch apreciated...thank you.

  • what do everyone think about using colors:

dusty blue and charcoal grey for this stitch..

    will be making a scarf

  • Thank you!! I started watching your first pin wheel videos and I got so frustrated but this totally fixed my problems, you're the best!

  • not to sound like a hill billy or anything but do you have the directions written out any where? i am leaving in the car tomorrow for trip to florida (24 hour) drive and i cant watch the videos as i sit in car

  • In your other video you started with 2 sc in 2 sc why is it diffrent this time? Is it better this way?

  • hey mikey i finally got it down i'm making a purple and gray blanket it is really coming along i've been working on it for about 2 days now and i'm close to 1/8 of the way done it doesnt sound like much but it is a really fun stitch i will be done in about 2 to 3 months how long did it take you to make your rainbow blanket

  • hey mikey on the second cirlcel pin wheel thing mine doesnt work out i keep watching your vids over and over but mine doesnt turn out like urs

  • WOW! No complaints from me -- i want to make that --- That's beautiful!! You're talented and probably warm on winter nights!

  • This is just fab! Thanks for the upload.

  • Hi Mike

What size crochet hook are you using for this Catherine Wheel project ??? I want to make a baby afghan

  • this is kinda difficult. =) i'm trying to make a pillow case. =) i'm going to try my best though. maybe i'll get use to it.

  • not to complain could slowdown a bit? it is not easy crocheting and watching the video at the sametime ( and on top of that im left handed)

  • Sounds like there's a double whammy... me going too fast and then not demonstrating left handed stitches... Sorry about that.

  • @NuthinButCookieDough

Yeah, You are going really fast. I've seriously had to pause and rewind this so much because your going fast that it's taken me 30mins to get through 2 1/2 mins of video. Besides your speed everything else is great! Your a good teacher, I'm actually getting it! thanks for all the vids!

  • @NuthinButCookieDough I use the pause button frequently. I also "rewind" frequently. I find that using pause and rewind together helps to establish learning because the video is viewed repeatedly. Watching, pausing, then doing, rewinding, checking stitches, watching, repeat gives good review of work. :-)

    Left handed....hmmm. I can't help there.

  • what size needle do you use here and what is the yarn info

  • it's a k size hook and just bernat or red heart yarn from Zellers, Target or Wal-Mart

  • wow that sounds complicated, but I'm just starting out. But maybe after I make a few things I'll attempt this, because it does make a very beautiul blanket.

  • Don't give up honey... it's worth the learning curve.. trust me

  • Thanks for the videos...they are really helpful!

  • is this going to be a blanket?

  • No example, :P
