  • modern wushu schools in western countries don't stretch that hard, that's why it looks so unfamiliar and relatively hard to reproduce.

    actually stretching like this, performing a good split and simple body control exercises like a free handstand are PURE BASICS. without this basic workout you can't go on in training...

  • This is hardly a beginner's way of stretching. I'm 1 year into Wushu and I'm having trouble with this one still....

  • My kung fu masters make me do that with my grounded leg closer to the wall and the leg against the wall above my head, and they push me into the wall from behind.. it hurts..

  • C'mon guys! How did you expect to show this stretch? She's not a beginner. How else can she show this? If you were a gymnast and this was your first Wushu class and you saw her do this you'd think," wow i can do that and i can go higher." However, she is merely showing possibilities. Yeah she can do that. When one is practicing it matters very little where ones coach is. the teacher opens the door. It is up to the student to walk through it. Don't be so shallow! think!

  • @LoyalBrotherz817 take it slow and drink more water and get more potassium, that worked for me

  • If you do those stretches 5 days a week and just don't push yourself hard the full range of flexibility will come as long as you use good form. If you push it to fast and hard, you will only get tight and hurt and go backward.

    I learned the hard way many times.. I know.

  • @molodiv I wasn't acting, just making a point! AND DON'T LIE THEY DON'T PUT SUBTITLES ON ALL THEIR VIDEOS. anyone can easily search EV videos to see for themselves.

    I've got to say though, she could probably take down a group of thugs in 5 seconds, she's deadly...

    I speak spanish and that subtitles help me a lot to understand what is she saying, so maybe that help to others too

  • @gedp1213 Yes man, that's for beginnners. I am a wushu student and based on my experience, on your first time on doing this, you are not really forced to raise your leg high. You are just advised to raise your leg just up to the level where you can raise your leg. As time goes by, when your muscles are pretty stretched, you can raise your leg up higher to your standard level (which is just basically up to your hips).
