I just realized the Japanese seem to have an obsession with the word "zero" as a name. Their WWII era fighter planes were called Zero. In the game Megaman X, the red robot's name is Zero. In anime Gundam WIng, the most advanced mechs have a special pilot synchronization system called the Zero System. And in Sky Girls, Otoha calls her mech Zero. I mean really why do the Japanese like the name Zero so much?

Did you notice this. The mechs (called Runners) in the PS2 game called Zone of The Enders (especially the Runner featured on the front cover of the game box) have a very similar design (especially in the head of the mech) to the mechs from the anime Sky Girls (called Sonic Divers). I also know that the Skygirls OVA (and later TV show) was made by Konami, the same company that made the PS2 game Zone of The Enders (and later made ZOE2: The Second Runner). I don't think this is a coincidence.
