  • capoeira was created by slaves in Brasil to escape from the portuguese soldiers. thats why it looks like an innocent dance, just to show off, that way they could pratice and the soldiers wouldnt be alarmed. but capoeira fighters were incredably strong, and the portuguese army had more trouble fighting escaped slaves who pratice capoeira, than the invaders armys from holland. dont underestimate capoeira.

  • The language in the video is Norwegian (Bokmål).

  • Yeah that is definitely not German. it's probably some kind of Scandinavian.

  • I live in João Pessoa, Brazil and this is as representative of Brazil as a clip of the Hitler youth would be of Germany.

  • They are showing shit!

I'm brazilian and this video make the people in the world think that brazil is poor has only violence and drugs.

    They should see the reality!

  • i was thinking that too. im not from brasil but it looked like they were showing clip, if there was any, when capoeira was banned and used by gangs.

  • this is the best way to play Capoeira, with feeling in the streets

  • This is the best way to play Capoeira, with feeling in the streets

  • It is Germanic, but not German.

  • zum,zum,zum,capoeira mata um!!!!

  • This video is all bullshit!

Nonsense!!! Thats a ridiculous view about Brazil!!! It's not the reality!

  • that means only that you dont know anything about Brasil :)

so sad...go visit it and then post here

  • Capoeira the dance of the war

  • it´s not a dance..that is what most ppl think

  • It really isn't a dance, but when you do capoeira, you have to move in the same harmony with your partner, like by the dances. i think, it's not a huge mestake, to say it's a dance.

  • its not a dance!

  • M U A Y T H A I !!! :D

  • go post muay thai in muay thai videos..not here in capoeira..LOLZ

  • In the video they are only performing capoeira in the end and it's contactless, the beginning is normal fighting. However the brazilian style of capoeira is often more violent than the capoeira practiced in europe. Especially street capoeira, I'd say. Capoeira is a martial art and intended to be effective in combat. But normaly it's played without hurting eachother, because else not many people would want to play.

  • Plus if you have enough precision and control as to just miss hitting someone you have enough control TO hit someone. =]

  • It's a Norwegian comercial from the Churchs emergency aid(Kirkkens nodhjelp). The narrator says: "The Churchs aid supports many measures against volence in Brazil. Education in the martial art Capoeira gives youths self confidence and trust in their own skills."

  • Now that's a really weird comercial!

The reason why any country other that Brazil would advertise capoeira is beyond my understandig.

It was shot in brazil, alright, but as far as I know, there is no physical contact in capoeira (altough I may be wrong, I have very little knoledge of capoeira).

Plus, that comercial´s not from germany, or at least the languange that appears on screen is not german. I guess is from Norway, I think their alphabet has that crossed "o".

  • let correct to you, actually capoeira has contact and really hard.... it´s depend of the play and how angry could be felling the player at these moments. you always kkep in mind that capoeira it´s a martial arts where you can use everething.

  • I must disagree. I live in Brasil and have been a martial artist for over 30 years. I have competed against capoeira practitioners many times and have never even been scored upon by one. The art is graceful and beautiful to watch. But against a trained opponent, is useless as a martial art.

  • may be the you haven't yet fought a real trained capoeira warrior..go fight a mestre...and see what capoiera is all about...capoeira is full of surprises..many takedowns and stuffs...go fight a mestre my friend..and see the real power of capoeira
