  • kind of annoying that he says receiving instead of receeding, Still an AWESOME cover though :)

  • 3:04 absolute amazing! Great tribute to a great band.

  • Holy fuck, that was actually good.

  • just got my first Pink Floyd tattoo..plan on doing a whole sleve dedicated to them...great job Staind

  • Aaron's voice is awesome...his version gives me goosebumps just like Pink Floyd....his scream startled me though, lol

  • I am a major Floyd fan seen them play so many times and I have to say staind Kicked @ss on this cover thanks for sharing

  • 5:40, sounds kinda like james hetfield

  • people shouldn't come to a cover expecting a better version, just another artists interpretation of a great song i.e. comfortably numb. Personally love both Staind and Pink Floyd, and I think both this cover and the original are great in their own way.

  • Thank you, Mr. Lewis, for making me appreciate one of my favorite songs THAT much more! F******* Amazing!

  • dude yall are crazy he puts everybit of heart in this cover.......

  • amazing

  • im a super pink floyd fan/addict....and i must say, i enjoy this version.

  • Aaron Lewis and the members of Staind Im sure have no intentions of trying to "Better the original" As Floyd cannot be replicated BUT, I will say to anyones face Aaron lewis rocked the HELL out of this song and completely sang it his own way and therfore this is epic !

  • Great take. I wish the crowd would shut up though.

  • Wow absolutely brilliant! I like his voice in this song, and aaron lewis did a hell of a job Covering and already spectacular song.

  • It's real simple - Floyd Rules, but Staind(Aaron Lewis) is also brilliant. This is far and away the best remake of my favorite song...

  • they put minimal effort in this song. big dissapointment in the band.

  • i listened to this whole song for their take on the solo and i got shit on. how can you cover a song thats known mostly for the solo work and not even attempt it. jesus.

  • wow, i just lost respect to this band :( did they even listen to the original version more than once? "receiving"??? "fever"??

    ew. just ew.

  • what was it all girls there at the show? Alls you here is Wooooo!! from high pitched voices. Some dude needs to shout hell ya!!! during a break of the lyrics.

  • STAIND DID IT SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN PINK FLOYD!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Guitarist121964 I like both staind and pink floyd, but nothing beats the creator, the original. But, both the versions made me comfortably numb!

  • @Guitarist121964 that's a fucking insult, you should change your username because obviously you don't have a clue about guitarists

  • @thelostworlds3 Personal Opinion Asswipe!!!!!! Let it Be!

  • Christ, this guy's whiny. Also, it's "receding" not "receiving", and "now I've got that feeling--not fever--once again."

  • @fretbuzz59 shut up, its not a big deal. Being a bigger fan of Pink Floyd than Staind i think this is a great cover, its something different.

  • @8FoniksMonkey8 This isn't a song w/ throwaway lyrics; they're very important to its meaning. He ought to get them right.

  • check out my bands version.comments please.

  • im comfortably numb thank u lukey loger

  • Beats scissor sister's cover, in my opinion. Of course the original is the best, but I enjoyed this!

  • i like both versions

  • Did they play any drums?

  • @tattsrulemylife Quit trolling, you like stainds verson, others like floyds version, so what? no need to be hatin'

  • @tattsrulemylife

    You're a fucking idiot.

  • @Metaldood4500 oh im the idiot?ur the fuckface aaron lewis has more talent in his dick then that cunt singer from floyd so eat shit and choke!

  • @tattsrulemylife bahahahaa thats funny. sorry i love staind and aaron lewis. but come on dude Roger Waters is one of the greatest singers songwriters of all time. he wrote DSOTM, The Wall, and Wish you Were Here almost alone. sorrymy freind but you have a lot to learn in music.

  • @tattsrulemylife wow wat are u smoking

  • @narabi1088 uuhhh CRACK sir i love smoking CRACK!!!!!

  • Totally D!g !T

  • @DreamsEverlast they did a very good cover of it.. I love pink floyd;s version.. Because of staind.. i appreciate pink floyds version alittle better now.

  • @InLaughterAndTears

Pink Floyd wrote the song, not the other way around.

  • amazing cover

  • @DreamsEverlast True that!!

  • WOW

  • staiind <3

  • @DreamsEverlast hey girl........ listen to Gruhak's cover of comfortably numb. It is absolutely perfect.

  • @TheCorrectViews why do you hate them? pretty curious... the lead singer has an unreal voice, so much passion, emotion... that does it for me there... what is there to hate?

  • wow good song u guys love ity

  • staind <3 fucking perfect!!!

  • not even close..................

  • I'm so f*cking tired of reading ppl complaining and telling "X band" cant't play a "X song" as good as the original... For god sake! that's why it's called a COVER. U will never be able to do a better work than the original interpreters. You may like one more than other, but the original one, is the original one.

There is no reason to hate covers. If you don't like a parallel interpretation of a song, it's cool. So keep listening the original and STOP POSTING TROLLING CRAP!

  • @falconsito There ARE SOME cover songs better than the original. Little help from my Friends - Joe Cocker > Beatles version. Tons of people think Hurt - Johnny Cash is better than NIN. The song Hey Joe by Hendrix is a cover song too.

Not meanign to sound like a dick, hope i dont come across like that. I fully agree with what your saying, i just think there are SOME covers better then originals

  • @12321Walrus NIN's Hurt is better I think, but not by much. Cash did very well. What I am amazed about is that I hate this fucking band. I can not stand them, but this came up as a suggestion and I hit expecting to detest it. And...it doesn't suck. I am actually not disliking this at all.

  • This is amazing.

  • @DreamsEverlast but a damn good band to try :)

  • Gotta Love This Right Here.... Staind Can Rock Out To Anything, Hands Down!

  • very good cover ! Pink Floyd Would Be Proud !

  • it's amazing how hard it is for bands to cover this song without sounding almost exactly like the original. i gotta give these guys credit for trying tho.

  • @DreamsEverlast Dream theater. thats it

  • @DreamsEverlast why you gonna think that staind is trying to make this song there own?

  • better than Floyd's

  • This is only a cover, I dont think Aaron's trying to out shine Pink Floyd our try to make his song better in his own way..

He's just singing it like we would to a song on the radio we like.

    So don't rage on him. o-o;

  • @DreamsEverlast staind will never be on floyds level. but then again floyd will never be on stains level either.

  • @xXCUBEZEROXx That is probably the most musically ignorant statement i've ever heard in my life. I like Staind, they've put out some good music. But no one other than Pink Floyd is on Pink Floyd's level. Know about music because if this were a test you would've failed horribly.

  • @ChelseaGrin8094 what? ur obviosly too ignorant to even comprehend what i even mean when i say that. I never said staind is on floyds level. I also said Floyd is not on stainds level. When I say that I mean they are Amazing in their own ways. Fucking stupid youtube fuckers...

  • @ChelseaGrin8094 It's ignorant to say your opinion of Pink Floyd is superior to anybody's opinion of another band.

  • .....................WoW

  • Wow amazing no one but Aaron lewis could pull this off to cover Pink Floyd ANY Pink Floyd and sound this sweet

  • Not everyday that someone covers pink floyd, Greatly done IMO. one of my favorite bands covering my all-time favorite band. Nuff said.

  • 38 people are uncomfortably numb.

  • This is a great song, but I agree, nothing compares to Pink Floyd.

  • You people need to quit bashing this version, and stop saying something along the lines of "not even close to the original" or "no one can touch the brilliance of Pink Floyd". The point of a cover is to add your own interpretation to it. If you made it sound exactly like the original, there'd be no point in performing it at all.

  • @primusdude87 word bro

  • @primusdude87

um, they actually didn't try to change the brilliance of the solo (cause no idea what to play?), they ignored many parts of the lyrics, and they simplified the rest of the song. I'm not calling this "an interpretation". just a cheap rip off

  • This is a good cover but he gets the words wrong. still very good though.

  • @DreamsEverlast In your opinion maybe.

  • nice cover , but i think it was a bitch move not playing both solos and putting the first solo at the end ... the whole point of this song is the blazing solo at the end , its the greatest song on the planet to get high while listening to

  • @DreamsEverlast I agree with you 110% I have seen Roger Waters "The Wall" tour.. Most amazing show i have ever seen... I Love Stained... But They arent Pink Floyd. haha

  • I like this version better than the original actually. Its a good cover, so everyone shut the fuck up.

  • not even close to better than the original. still good tho.

  • whyyyyyy why would they even try....my godddddddd he cant do anything

  • I just saw them at ROTR (:

  • Great to see bands of the new era respecting the great Floyd. I think its a cool cover, showing their style and not trying to be exactly like the original band. Great rendition!

  • i like staind but this cover i really DON'T

  • i love sit sit on my deck listening to aaron, esp this song, with a beer in my hand... thinking of all the drugs ive done...seem so long ago!!!

  • Theres people who actually dislike this? Wow, i think its great. Anything Aaron sings sounds great to me.

  • They said "now ive got that FEVER once again" instead of "now ive got that FEELING once again"!!!! Stupid mistake!!!

  • @jeggleston04 NOM NOM NOM

  • It's a cover, some "artistic freedom" is allowed, I suppose ;-)

Just like when he says: "The child is grown; the dream is LOST" when in original is "the child is grown, the dream is GONE".

    No harm done, imho.

  • @jeggleston04 why u dissin? whats ur career done for u? fuck tard!!!

  • @popcorn12able No need to get all mad at me now. Lets keep the language down, there are little kids here :p

  • meh

  • saw them live with daughtry and nickelback :D twas epic :)

  • When i saw it was almost 10 minutes long, i assumed there was going to be a really long epic solo...i leave disappointed

Awesome cover tho (minus the solo thing)

  • Wow, this is the first time I've herd this cover. It is amazing!

  • excellent cover boys 1 of my fave bands of all time and i feel this a beautiful tribute

  • prizzz!!!!

  • No.

  • OMG, I miss Staind...

  • aweeesome

  • Wow, that scream was unexpected by me. Obviously it can't compare to the original but, look at it this way. We have a genuine artist choosing to cover a timeless classic and doing pretty darn well. I give him props for that. and that scream 2 :P

  • Aaron Lewis is GOD!!!!!

  • I sit and wait at HOME. All alone, I SUFFOCATE. COMFORTABLY NUMB. PARDON ME but, IT'S BEEN A WHILE and you're still SO FAR AWAY. Such a WASTE to watch me FADE. OPEN YOUR EYES, OPEN WIDE I'm still RIGHT HERE. You stand OUTSIDE of these FOUR WALLS, watching me choking in THE CORNER. Then, you buried me in a SAFE PLACE, and you hid the dirty MUDSHOVEL you used to do it. But, no one would ever BELIEVE you, they CAN'T BELIEVE. They will know THE TRUTH.

  • @DarkestofTimes Now thats fucking awesome

  • @mrstylerfunair ha thnx

  • Comment removed

  • @DarkestofTimes Well done!

  • @DarkestofTimes i've seen a bunch of those before... but that has to have been the most beautiful and most revelvant one yet.

  • @Schutt1212 thanks.

  • @DarkestofTimes love this

  • @DarkestofTimes that is sick

  • @monsterbud12 nice thanks I just came up with it off the top of my head.

  • @DarkestofTimes You are my hero! :)

  • @Ainsleytyne thanks...good to know.

  • aaron lewis at his best gr8 vocalist..just a pity he's underrated

  • in term of vocals this is the best version of the song.nuff said

  • @xarikanoz118

lol no way, he is inaudible at points. He still rocks it though.

  • besides lyrical mistakes quite good nothing to Pink Floyd but you really can't again.

  • after originals we have a preception of what it should be!! butstop being comfortablly numb and and enjoy a sepertate generations a comfortably numb!!

  • Very good cover. Doesnt compare to the original.. and its receding, not receiving, but other than that and a few other things its pretty good

  • filth

  • I think this just sounds straight up horrible...

  • It's a cover, you can't expect it to be exactly like the original.

Quit comparing and listen to Aaron's beautiful voice. <3

  • Breathtaking has been replaced by boring. Solo is well played.

  • pales in comparison to the original....seriously listen to PF version and you'll just have to turn this crap off...

  • @Sperlin The two different versions are sooo different you shouldn't compare the two even though it's the same song. I know a lot of people that like this version and absolutely hate Pink Floyd's. I like both, but yeah, don't compare the two.

  • @Sperlin the cover is better than the original...everyone has there own opinions...i could call the original crap...but im not going to you like original better others like the cover better

  • quility cover. the stuff legends are made of wicked love it

  • But crap! It;s receding, not receiving! :/

  • Good try! :)

  • sometimes i almost prefer this version to the original, and before i get eviscerated this is coming from a monstrously big Floyd fan. theyre my favorite band, and the original is so amazing, but the key change Staind apply to it really does wonders for the feel and emotion of the song. The original was perfect for the album though, this key woldnt have fit in my opinion. great cover, they really make it theirs

  • @mbeckwith146 The lyric is wrong at many ocassions

  • The lyrics are pretty much spot on. He might have switched up a few words at most, but it's not like he completely changed any of the lyrics. This is a really good cover of one of the best songs Floyd ever did.

  • The first guy should try not to mumble, the second guy, well I don't know what to suggest. It sounds like he's got a very blocked nose. Nasal decongestant might help. Or is that just what passes for singing with Stained fans?

  • @wildfire5610 and your a fan of what? and just wondering if your not a fan of staind why listen to it? just looking for a reason to bitch and moan and try and look cool on youtube? or maybe to just start a fight you wont win...1 you vs all the other people who watch this video

  • I tend not to like people covering Pink Floyd, but this is ok, its a far better job than effin scissor sisters made of it, they murdered Pink Floyd!

  • @fuckth3h035 I like this version, but yeah, the lyrics aren't right. Of course he may have not planned on doing this and didn't have the proper preparation.

  • Don't mind his singing, I just don't think this song is made for acoustics.

  • What a brilliant Cover, I have it in the car such a good driving song especially this version.

  • his voice is great! if you like his voice too like i do check out my friends band.

an epic thoery... look up mindless...

  • I dunno bout you guys but Im getting kinda sick of Aaron Lewis changing the lyrics to songs that you just dont change the lyrics too. If you're not going to learn the lyrics properly, don\t do the cover, because as far as I'm concerned, you\re not doing your job.

  • @davo664 and what is 'you're not doing your job' mean? What job is he doing exactly? And if you hate how Aaron does covers, then do not listen to the covers and move on. Plain and simple.

  • @davo664 Aaron Lewis does not care what haters think, the fact is, he's always made music the way wants to. Staind's albums tell his life story throughout the 6 albums. As for covers, if he feels the original lyrics don't relate to himself, he'l change them. Or maybe out of respect for the sheer brilliance of Pink Floyd, he has changed from the original. Don't hate, Aaron Lewis is an absolute genius.

  • brill version also like pink floyd but this guy is amazin x

  • this is a fucking good cover

  • Holy cow! Wow this is amazing

  • nothing can compare to floyd but its a good cover

  • Holy crap!

What a good cover. Very.....hmmm.....Mad Season? Kinda reminds me of Mad Season (not Matchbox 20 by the way).

It has the same kind of sound.

  • I Like Both versions, but I think I feel the songs meaning (or whatever you want to call it) when listening to the Staind version, despite some lyrics being wrong. Know what I mean?

  • fuck off this is the jam

  • I normally hate covers, and I hate Pink Floyd.

    But this is good. :D

  • @HellsLawfulJustice how the hell do u hate Pink Floyd?!

  • @ThePimpedOUTlaws Cause I do.

  • @HellsLawfulJustice how can anybody hate pink floyd??

  • @asasassify I also hate The Beatles.

  • @HellsLawfulJustice someones rebelling against their parents

  • @asasassify Their pretty boring, along with Pink Floyd.

  • @HellsLawfulJustice and staind isnt?

i used to like them a couple years ago

recently i was looking through break the cycle on my ipod

i was aw struck that that album used to be on heavy rotation on my ipod

every song had pretty generic riffs and a singing that made me want to kill myself

every song was like "why do you me me feel like shit", " why does my life suck so much," and "im so lonely"

i still do like outside and fade though

and this is a pretty decent cover i guess

  • @asasassify I hate Pink Floyd. I don't like any of the old rock bands, but that's just my opinion, don't hate me for it.

  • @darknessdeath12 someones rebelling against their parents

  • @asasassify Aha.

  • @darknessdeath12

    Well... I hate you!

  • @Kiowarrior :(

  • @darknessdeath12

I hate to tell you this, but you have no soul, no substance what so ever if you cant feel a song like that.

  • @DonnieDio I just said I hated Pink Floyd. I hate their music style. I didn't say I hate the lyrics they put in their music...

  • @darknessdeath12

How can you hate them but not their lyrics? Think maybe you use the word hate a little bit too easily.

  • @DonnieDio And you may be right. See, that's your opinion, and I'm not freaking out about it... there's a lesson to be learned here. -.-

  • @darknessdeath12 Who's freaking out then?

  • @DonnieDio I'm just pointing out the fact that I'm not calling you stupid or posting other redundant comments because you stated your opinion...

  • DAMN this is a good cover. Love the accoustic, too. Aaron Lewis doing this song with Floyd would be just...other-worldly.

  • OPINIONS R LIKE ASS HOLES EVEYONE HAS ONE SO GET THE FUCK OVER IT

  • 34 people need to b shot,, fck their opinion

  • @pimpinthewhole9 the whole point of comments is for people to leave their own opinion you dipshit. Shocking cover, bands like Staind should be banned from covering such epic songs.
