@ledgend123ify None of the Democrats were really crazy about Kerry, so I think more Republicans were motivated to go out and vote. I think it was also a case of silent majority vs. vocal minority, and he actually was popular among a lot of voters (mostly older of course). But yeah, I remember in 2004 being sure that he'd lose from all the hate and I was surprised by the results.
Obama is pretty bad, too. But the other republican candidates are terrible in this election. May I remind you that Gingrich was a psychopath in the 90's? And Romney...Just no. @sgtwok Yeah and it wasn't Bush, we've been in debt for a looooong time before Bush. Also, Bush did help, he gave us tax breaks (Obama gave us jackshit) and he kept us safe. You think MrJason is ignorant just look at the facts, Obama sucks. I dont hate Liberals, just Obama. I dont even really like Bush. Just trying to say whats really going on and Obama didnt TRY to do more, he just lied and after he got elected president he just said we cant do those things now.

Only one year and 11 days till they make a similar video about Obama's second term. I can wait to see how pissed off the right-wingers are when that happens.
Truthfully, as a liberal, Obama deserves one of these videos if he wins. However, I won't be surprised if Obama does win, because nearly every candidate in the Republican base has made me worried for the country. One of the worst presidents in history, followed by someone who doesn't try to fix the core problem the way he believes and in general, doesn't get things done, leads to turmoil. Any Democrat challengers, or a centrist Republican I can support?
@CenturysSamurai Ron Paul has several good ideas, and he makes sense 90% of the time and I either agree with him or wouldn't mind. But 5% of his ideas I disagree with and the other 5% of the time he makes no sense. He's my second favorite republican candidate, behind the always humorous Jon Huntsman.
@Lukinator34 specify direction. I personally, would suggest toward the Pacific Ocean (much deeper than the Atlantic). However, I'm open to nuclear wastelands, pitch black caverns, and the pit where Michael Moore's brain used to be.
@primeone810 No actually, Obama is black (absorbs all light) so the total amount of reflected light (in lumens) would be less than that of Bush. Therefore, the 8 years of Obama (assuming he gets reelected) will, in fact, be darker than those of Bush.
@NObama95 Personally I feel sorry for those who just ignore the fact that their civil liberties are being raped from them and that their tax money money is going to millionaires.
@ilikelaptops Even the President can't do much when the republicans in congress refuse to do anything other than get rid of the tax breaks for the middle class...
@jcondo82 If you truly believe that, you are an absolute moron. The Republicans have a philosophy of NO new taxes at all. This is generally understood by people on all sides of the spectrum. The Republicans want to KEEP the tax break, they just don't want it to be equalized (in terms of gov't revenue, b/c the gov't needs to make up the loss) by creating a surtax on people with an income over 1 million dollars, because those people invest more in jobs/the economy.
@ilikelaptops Do you not watch the news? Funny you call me a moron, maybe you need to watch the real news instead of fox news once in a while...
As for tax breaks for millionaires, well, that seems to have been a good idea, as they really seem to be creating jobs.... Unemployment keeps rising, as does the income divide. Makes sense...
@jcondo82 Thank you for making a random, unrelated comment about the media! I have presented facts, whereas you've given me a false argument about what Congress does and what position Republicans have. I think I know the news a tad bit better than you do.
Unemployment doesn't keep rising - but I guess that's what they tell you at your "reputable" news sources!
So why should we increase taxes on rich? They have spending power, we ARE seeing a slow turnaround right now.
@ilikelaptops unemployment was at 4% before Bush took office, in 2008 it was up to over 8%, according to you, we are, what was it, 3 or 4 times worse now than when he was in office, yet unemployment has remained ~9%
Source: Department of labor, I think they are pretty reputable.
@jcondo82 Depends. If a Republican is leading it, I'm sure he will make it seem worse. If a Democrat is in charge, he will do his best to make it seem more mild. If he is a centrist, he will try to do his job and be executed.
@ilikelaptops And the comment about the media is very related, your source of information comes from somewhere, and it sounds like something straight off of Fox News...
@jcondo82 Also, redistributing money from the rich will NOT power the economy or more anything anywhere. The reason that a lot of jobs aren't being made is that strict business regulations (especially from the EPA - dust emitted and CO2 emitted, specifically) prevent a lot of people from investing their cash. It takes big sums of money to make a lot of jobs, but giving everyone else 10 bucks you took from the rich doesn't power anything. It'd just go to people's bank accounts/savings.
@ilikelaptops Also funny how they have no problem with making up the loss for the rich, but for the middle class, well, they can't do that now, can they?
@jcondo82 They aren't making up a loss for the rich, my friend. They're trying to cover for the funds that get taken out of the Social Security Trust Fund when the payroll tax is cut/eliminated. Your statement is a little contorted.
If the Republican Party is the "party of the rich," as you say, then how does it have such a large base - especially among those who are not rich?
Honestly, people on both sides of the aisle are getting sick of the class warfare going on these days.
@ilikelaptops it seems you didn't catch my sarcasim, you are right they aren't making up a loss for the rich, and there is no problem with that, but God forbid they need to improvise for 99% of Americans...
I guess it is fair Bank of America pays 0 federal income tax (posting 6.2 billion profits also), gets close to a billion tax credit, while my taxes went to paying for their mistakes...
@ilikelaptops And don't get me wrong, I might consider Republicans a "party of the rich" as you put it, but both republicans and democrats are serving special interests and not that of the people.
@jcondo82 It is only the American people's fault for either not voting or voting and not doing research on the candidate. Even worse is the straight party voters. What is more of a wasted vote, voting for a 3rd party or Independent, or voting for the lesser of 2 evils? Sometimes I wonder if a proportional representation (PR) system would be better when it comes to electing congressmen and senators. At least then the smaller parties would have more of a say in what goes on.
@gourleycoinsDOTcom Although I do agree some of the responsibility lies in the hands of the people, not all though. Most politicians are just full of it, and now they are even violating their oath of office to defend the constitution (supporting NDAA and indefinite detention of U.S. citizens without trial). Can't place all the blame on those who are lied to and deceived, though you can blame them for allowing this to happen.
@brittanyworks Even the President can't do much when the republicans in congress refuse to do anything other than get rid of the tax breaks for the middle class...
@PIgMyLick Wow, you're a dumbass, see, this video is making fun of George Bush's his ignorance. Yes, he is incredibly dumb, nobody is trolling, but you.
@FrankCommentator Just wondering, how do incredibly dumb people graduate from Yale, serve in the military, govern one of the largest states in the Union, win the presidency TWICE, and strengthen the US-UK alliance, all while being "a dumb hick."
Look at the 2004 campaign ads. Bush's were EXTREMELY poignant, if inaccurate. I think that campaign ads also had a lot to do with the 2006 and 2010 midterm elections. The opposition tends to play things as Doomsday when it really isn't that bad.
hey guys, if you could do me a huge favor, who are the rest of the people in the USS Democrat? I count Ted Kennedy, Libermann, Howard Dean, and Al Sharpton. who else is in the boat?
@kell1reilly2 Elvis was the name of one of the video creator's dog. On JibJab's website if you watch this video and click on "Dedicated to Elvis" you can see a picture of the dog.
What is wrong with people who aren't straight?! Nothing! They just like the same gender. This didn't happen in Rome and Greece and stuff because it just wasn't heard of. How does your gay neighbor effect you? That's right, HE DOESN'T. I'm straight, so don't get on me about being Gay. Lay off them. Really. If it doesn't follow your religion, OH WELL. America doesn't have a set religion, does it? Everyone in the world doesn't have to be Jewish/Muslim or whatever. America doesn't need a religion.
@xXThatotherdudeXx If you honestly don't think there was no homosexuality in the classic European cultures, you need to brush up on some history!
Also, Jewish people don't try to convert others or spread their religion... It's why they call themselves "The Chosen People," not "The Converted People."
Yes, we don't need a state religion, but people are allowed to have differing opinions and follow their own religions. First amendment right, is it not?!
@Prussian7789 how so is Obama worse, I mean you can't get much worse than an unexplainable started war, and health care is what the country needs at the moment before you start arguing that. Also raising taxes will raise public benefits.
@Cz7wrestler: Raising taxes... My money. To give to people who didn't earn it? Thanks, I'll pass. Mandated health care? This is America, fucktard, not Europe, where things are going SO well with their Democratic Socialism. They have health care... Oh, and riots. Fun, good times!
That's how Obama's worse. He wants to do the same thing here. I know it; you know it. Now pull your head out of your ass and tell all your looting friends to do the same.
@Fanucci34 britain answering here. how does healthcare and and riots have anything in common. the only rioting was some gangsters in london looting (not to do with democracy) and greek strikes as their country is utterly bankrupt. also our taxes hav raised aswel. when we have debt we need to cut spending and increase taxes to fill the debt hole. sucks but gotta be done.
oh and if you knew about the riots then you would know they were widely condemned and many gathered to clean up and denounce it
does anyone know how he got elected twice? everybody hated him but they voted for him again

At least then the smaller parties would have more of a say in what goes on.
gourleycoinsDOTcom 1 month ago
@gourleycoinsDOTcom Although I do agree some of the responsibility lies in the hands of the people, not all though. Most politicians are just full of it, and now they are even violating their oath of office to defend the constitution (supporting NDAA and indefinite detention of U.S. citizens without trial). Can't place all the blame on those who are lied to and deceived, though you can blame them for allowing this to happen.
And I do agree, a PR system would be much better

@FrankCommentator Just wondering, how do incredibly dumb people graduate from Yale, serve in the military, govern one of the largest states in the Union, win the presidency TWICE, and strengthen the US-UK alliance, all while being "a dumb hick."

I think the amazing thing is that the democrats actually found someone who could lose to Bush. I'm saying this, and I actually kinda like Bush.
fr3ddoj0n3s 5 months ago
@fr3ddoj0n3s
Look at the 2004 campaign ads. Bush's were EXTREMELY poignant, if inaccurate. I think that campaign ads also had a lot to do with the 2006 and 2010 midterm elections. The opposition tends to play things as Doomsday when it really isn't that bad.

America doesn't need a religion.
xXThatotherdudeXx 6 months ago 6
@xXThatotherdudeXx; Homosexuality was very prevalent in Greece among the upper classes.
PadraikKasier 6 months ago

Cz7wrestler 7 months ago
@Cz7wrestler: Raising taxes... My money. To give to people who didn't earn it? Thanks, I'll pass. Mandated health care? This is America, fucktard, not Europe, where things are going SO well with their Democratic Socialism. They have health care... Oh, and riots. Fun, good times!
That's how Obama's worse. He wants to do the same thing here. I know it; you know it. Now pull your head out of your ass and tell all your looting friends to do the same.
Fanucci34 3 months ago
@Fanucci34 britain answering here. how does healthcare and and riots have anything in common. the only rioting was some gangsters in london looting (not to do with democracy) and greek strikes as their country is utterly bankrupt. also our taxes hav raised aswel. when we have debt we need to cut spending and increase taxes to fill the debt hole. sucks but gotta be done.
oh and if you knew about the riots then you would know they were widely condemned and many gathered to clean up and denounce it
