Randi is an absolute jerk. I was fascinated by a story I saw of him debunking a mystic. I wrote him to thank him for his work and at the end of my letter I wrote 'God bless'. He wrote back the rudest letter I ever recieved criticizing the fact I 'God blessed' him. Some times a person can be so smart that he turns into a 'smart ass' and that seems to be what happened to Randi. Although I enjoy his logic for the most part, I don't consider him much of a 'MAN'.

Go to TAM next year, and you'll feel that pull even more. It's still a good time and all that, but the begging and pleading for "donations" does get a bit old after a while. I realize they need funds to stay afloat, but when you see the STAR treatment the speakers get, and consider that THEY didn't pay $500 per person like the rest of us, and that THEY get free first-class airfare and accommodations, and THEN they turn around and as ME for more of my money once I'm there? It's a bit insulting.

No, the conference is for several days, but that's the cost. They have some discounts (for full-time students, or for JREF members), and a few scholarships, but nothing for the middle-class as usual.

my dad has a weak heart and initially took pills for it, got fed up of the side-effects from the pills, so changed his diet and took up aerobic exercise instead

Hi Dave. I don't mind such an explanation at all. In fact I welcome it. The physical body can be and is explained beautifully through science. At the same time science does not have proof there is no such thing as heaven, sans multiple virgins, angels, wrought iron gates, what ever. Science can and does theorize, so can the believer. It can oppose this hypothesis, this faith or that, but in my opinion the frontier is still out there for both teams to make discoveries. But that's just me.

It doesn't have to. The burden of proof is on those who make the claim that such things are real. Until such time as there is real evidence for the existence of those things, there is no good reason to believe they exist. You cannot believe things into existence.

I think the god that people want is not the god that really is. God for instance cannot be omniscient all powerful and get so tired that he had to rest on Sunday. That contradicts all powerfulness. Let's just say God does what he pleases. Bible never states he got tired, he merely rested, but rest may not necessarily mean he rested from fatigue, perhaps he just laid his hands off of the Earth. Perhaps we are living in the 7th day, in the virtual absence of God, now that may mean he needs not exist at this moment, or it may seem, at all. Randi is an absolute jerk. I was fascinated by a story I saw of him debunking a mystic. I wrote him to thank him for his work and at the end of my letter I wrote 'God bless'. He wrote back the rudest letter I ever recieved criticizing the fact I 'God blessed' him. Some times a person can be so smart that he turns into a 'smart ass' and that seems to be what happened to Randi. Although I enjoy his logic for the most part, I don't consider him much of a 'MAN'.

You should read the Bad Astronomer's website, aptly, badastronomy dot com, he debunks all of the common arguments against the moon landing. I think I'd personally like to answer the excretion thing, it's very funny. They wear these big plastic diaper thingies, and for number two, they'd have to do it in a sort of bag, not unlike those bubbly things you find in hospitals.
