  • i just copied your cannon onto my map and shot it, it onli went 1800-1900 distance... the reason ur cannon shot 4600 from what i notice was that your field isn't leveled, it sinks downwards...hmm

  • @evicfinite

That's half the problem, to launch it at such a low angle, gravity is going to take effect and drop the projectile further the more it travels. Tried another setting and it shot at such an angle that I could never tell where the tnt went. If you want it to go further then replace the half-slab with a trapdoor. But its not going to reach these massive distances on a level field.

  • @EC17MEISTER

my cannon on a level field shoots 3400 so far...

  • i have a cannon that theoretically is powered by 465,000 tnt

  • @thecooldude71 cubic chunks, wireless redstone, nuke tnt modded to have exact same blast radius but a timer of as long of you want so the tnt have time to drop down from such tall heights. This all on 1.7.3 so the tnt will fall onto the shot mounting block unlike 1.0.0. I am also using the trap door as my mounting block because the stone slab provides lower velocity shots, along with poorer range (tested by me).

  • @thecooldude71

That sounds pretty awesome, would like to see it in action.

  • @EC17MEISTER you online still?

  • @thecooldude71 lets skype i wanna talk to you really quick about the cannon.

  • umm i cant find where big betha is

  • @Babyfang5

If you go to these coordinates you should be able to see it. (Press F3 to see it)

    x: -60

    y: 65

    z: -160

  • @EC17MEISTER

    i made a cannon,but i can't shoot it when it's full,because i have a lame pc.

but there's a vid on my channel.

you can go and see it.

cannon isn't full but that tnt block goes at hyper speed.

  • what its the texture?

  • @mauro13launch

Faithful 32x32 that's been modified a bit by me.

  • The problem here is that when measuring how far a projectile can go the measurement is done at the same height as the projectile so you would have to make a flat plain to truly test how far your cannon can go.

  • Nice Cannon!

I was the one with the 35XX record (no hurt feelings, I want to see people beat my records).

I just do have one technical point, it appears that you are using OptiFine so that allows you to detonate more TNT than Minecraft would normally allow you to launch.

I'm going to try this cannon on my game without OptiFine, see how it works.

Anyway, best of luck to your redstone creations!

  • @Itanthias

Ohh really, I didn't know it did that as well, I just thought it helped out with frame rate. Thanks for giving me the idea of building an oversized cannon.

  • it sounds like there are 2 separate explosions when you fire the cannon, are some of the tnt getting set off at a slightly different time?

  • @HuBLunchb0x

They're all being set off at the same time, I think it's the game not being able to handle so much at once. that splits it up.

  • @EC17MEISTER

    i think i broke your record,i made a cannon,uses more than 240 TNTs

    shoots about 3.5km-4km

i made a video where i shoot a small bit of tnt because my pc is too slow.

  • @FirstDragonSlayer

So you make a cannon that you can't fire properly, claim it does 3.5-4km which might I add isn't further than this and then offer no proof either way..........right.......

  • @EC17MEISTER

i counted a little,if one pillar of tnt shoots that far, that is about how much it can fire when it is fully loaded.

    "i think" is the word.

  • download link plz

  • love the sound it makes

  • You could easily make one more powerful.

  • If you make a copy of her right next to her(so the tnt is one block away from each other) and put the ammo in between them, you could, theoretically, almost double the strength.

    []A[]

    T[ ]T

    T[ ]T

    T[ ]T

    T[ ]T

    T=charge

    A=Ammo

  • @silentclowd

Thanks for the suggestion, will see how this goes.

  • @silentclowd

Doesn't work so well, has a tendency to veer off to the left, if i extend the exit tunnel by two, it still veers off albeit not so much. Also didn't even make 800 range.

  • 3:08

I would use the term 'epicentre' :D

    wiki/Epicenter

  • Omg your back!!!!!!!

  • seems legit

  • Waypoints probably won't work as the tnt gets "stuck" in an unloaded chunk, and jumping such a far distance wouldn't load the chunk the tnt is in.

He could still use them to get back, I guess.

  • Nice cannon =)

I see how it is nice for showing the distance, but you could also teletport with waypoints

(/set name and /goto name). if you want to just get to the landing area fast.

  • @tekssbb Yes but then the chunk the projectile is actually in wouldn't get loaded, so it wouldn't travel.

  • No download? D:1

  • except it might detonate prematurely if other people are along the way keeping the chunks loaded?

  • am i the only one who thinks the lowered ground by the end is kinda cheating?

  • Maybe you could stack even more TNT with a clever Piston contraption.

  • i think you miss-spelled ballistic missile

  • I bet Etho could put this in a 10x10x10 cube...

  • @ChipNick87 In case you're extremely stupid: you cant fit 502 blocks into a 10x10x10 cube.

In case you thought you're funny: you're not.

  • @Almosteeen58 False. a 10x10x10 cube contains 1000 blocks.

In case you thought you're smart; you're not.

  • @hheintze1 most of those blocks would contain wiring and obsidian supports for the structure. So you're more likely to have around 500-600 spaces just for TNT. In case you thought you were clever; you're not.

  • @Almosteeen58 10x10x10 = 1000, 502 < 1000

  • @VvInstinctvV I'm talking about an actual box inside minecraft, not just math, and by tests a 10x10x10 box contains 512 blocks, unless by 10x10x10 you ment something else.

  • @Almosteeen58 Everyone else here is referring to hollowing out an area 10x10x10 and fitting it in there, not making a hollow cube and then putting it in that. Even then though, there would be 512 blocks as you pointed out, which is still more than 502.

  • @VvInstinctvV Correct, but that is just the tnt.

also sorry for being rude earlier.

  • @Almosteeen58 In case you're extremely stupid, 10 times 10 times 10 equals 1000, which (believe it or not) is more than 502.

In case you thought you were superior to me because of your intelligence, you're not.

  • @ChipNick87 Please be more clear when talking about sizes of things, also im sorry for being rude earlier.

  • @ChipNick87 Which would be 1000 blocks, which is way more than 502... -.-

  • @MrCubeGuy Really? Gee, i couldn't tell. I thought 502 was bigger. Thanks for the enlightenment.

  • Could you fire yourself?

  • I made something like this before, but instead trying to get all the power at once, i did it so it fires 5-6 times in a row. Really nice vid

  • The look of Big Bertha itself made me drop the clipboard I was holding while I watched this.

  • Now launch yourself

  • @jokubolakis6

Once I test some of these other theories/methods, I will launch myself and I'll release my world save. (Currently has ~60% of my weapon designs)

  • Holy Shit That Is Huge (Thats what she said) ^_^ Anyways Well Done!

  • She's a big bitch alright. Also scythe, the map gets lower with distance so I suppose that might affect your distance by a few blocks too. Good work!
