  • very Nice!!! To God be the Glory!!!

  • Truly amazing! Thank You, Gracious God for this music through the fingers of Doyle Dykes and the sweet voice of his daughter Haley!

  • And this is how a beautiful song becomes even more beautiful.

  • Not a song that I have ever taken seriously...until now that is. This is a seriously gorgeous version.

  • I wish he would come to Dallas and play in my church for the homeless. This man is very anointed and could touch the hearts of the street people we minister to.

  • Praise be to God in the highest and may he reign with Power, Glory, and Majesty forever and ever!!!! Amen

  • Much gratitude toward DD an Hayley

  • That's the most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard....

  • awesome

  • Just saw him at the Grand Ole Opry. Love his style, and such discipline and skill!

  • God bless you memaw1992.

  • I have not long to live, and this is one of the songs for my furneral among other's,

I say this-"funerals are for the living, let's rejoice! I'm going on to a better place!

    I'm tired, so very tired!

  • God bless you memaw 1992.

  • This is one of my Favorites of Doyles. I Think my favorite CD of his is Faith & Freedom. bass0111, he also has a grandson named DREW.

  • I got introduced to Doyle a few months ago. I'm an electric player for 43 years and play acoustic whenever I get the notion. Daily player. This Amazing Grace made me weep with joy. It gets no better.

  • Isn't his daughter called Heidi? Or has he got two?

  • Three daughters -- Hayley (singing), Holli, and Heidi. And one son, Caleb, also an exceptional guitarist.

    mh

  • Wow -- absolutely breathtaking -- Both of them. I am at a loss for words -- I must definitely make a Hayley and Doyle playlist! Just wonderful.

    Mike H.

  • Doyle is a musician to the very core of his being, and he seems to radiate that profound love that is the essence of great music and life itself. Kudos to Haley whose voice is lovely and deep.

  • AWESUM!!!

  • 感動しました・・・

  • That guy is just too awesome, God bless him

  • I just saw Doyle Dykes a few days ago. He's quite amazing. This song was beautiful!

  • All that great big sound out of that little bitty girl..WOW...oh yeah, good pickin too.

  • mindbogglingly amazing celestial music

  • Guitarists like this don't get the recognition that they deserve.

Absolutely amazing, though. The best arrangement of this song I've ever heard.

    My mind's still blown.

  • God is working here, this was truly an amazing performance. 5 stars

  • Absolutely a great artist. Beautiful arrangement. I never played itin drop D but will now.

  • The best arrangement of amazing grace so far. His daughter did excellent on the song and doyle on guitar was fabulous. The music reminded me of one of those old film happy endings. Didn't realise when I first saw it that it was his daughter I thought it was his wife but no. Great version.

  • A lot of greatttttt pickers out there.

    Chet started it all

  • Doyle Dykes shared his testimony at a youth camp I went to when I was in high school. That's at least 20 years ago. I'm glad I happened upon him here. Amazing and annointing talent. He gave it to the Lord.

  • Doyle Dykes is one anointed gangsta.

  • Annointed Fingers! Thanks for visiting Christian Faith Center again. What a Blessing you are!

  • Great playing and the kid sang brilliantly.

  • if i was straight i wouldn't called mrs dykes.. but yeay i am not..

  • He's married... so there is a Mrs. Dykes

    te he he :P

  • I saw this guy at one of his clinics at Hot Licks Guitar Shop in Maryland. He is a straight up bad ass on that guitar.

  • one of Hank Garland's Favorite Guitar Players!

This is one of the songs Hank listened to while recovering in the Hospital. I will never forget Doyle Dykes and His family and what he has meant to us! Thank you and God Bless!

  • my name is doyle lol

  • They came to my school (Hamilton Heights Christian Academy) today and were fantastic!

  • If you ever have a chance to see Doyle live, jump on it - arrive early!

I've seen Haley live just once - remarkably big voice (esp from such a petite woman) and works well with her dad.

  • Thank you

  • I must say this kinda owns tommy emmanuels version

  • lol theres no owning nobody its style of playing. i think that you just prefer doyle's version thats all tommy emmanuel's version is also nice!

  • You're right.. I understand what you're saying.. They'r both brilliant players..

Something to aspire to without question..

But this "OWNS" every arrangement I've ever of the this hymn.. I'm only 50 so I'll be waiting for the next installement that surpasses this.. I surely can't imagine it.. Tommy is wonderful.. not hating.. Just something about Doyle.. Slays me...

  • Wow! What a voice his daughter has!!

  • Doyle Dykes is not the showman that Tommy is but every bit as good a guitar player... very clean notes... no flaws etc...His patriotic music is fantastic... There are so many great players now... not to forget Jerry..

  • Hey Jerry, I'm sure no one would mind if you deleted these posts. We don't need that stuff around here. And Haley's such a sweet gal; It's a shame someone would say that. She just got engaged to her boyfriend, anyway. lol

  • That was just rude.

  • anyone have tabs for this arrangement?

  • Hey dude. It's in the 'Dykesology' book of tablature which is out-of-print. >_< Ask around, search online, etc... Good luck, man. :)

  • Tasteless comment. Your ignorance is glaring. You should go hang out on the Yahoo boards and post on the news stories.

  • that's possibly the dumbest comment ever made

  • oh there she is

  • wheres his daughter?

  • wow~

  • Does anybody kown of a version by Hubert Laws ?

  • Yes, one of my favorites. It's off the album "New Earth Sonata" by Harold Blanchard. The other names on the cover were Laws and Quincy Jones. It was recorded in 1983.

  • Listen to the Tommy Emmanuel version. Very similar, especially the harmonics - but a very good guitarist nonetheless. His daughter has a nice voice too.

  • Yes, they are similar, Tommy's is more bluesy, Doyle's more straightforward. Have you seen bassist Victor Wooten's version. That's amazing...

  • @jdlow77 yeah! V. Wooten's version is so awesome also.. so funky!!! really like it!!! :)

  • @lancezabala yeah, love vic's version too.

  • @lancezabala yeah, love vic's version too...

  • That is one amazing arrangement of that piece..

    Bravo!!!!
