Great vid mate , Im 17 and would love to get into strongman training like this , currently about 120kg and 6ft 2/3 been training for about 2 years wanting to aspire into bodybuilding but have always loved strongman and everything about it how did you start ?
i don't know much about these things but as a casual exercise enthusiast i wonder , isn't it better to do like 10-15 fluid reps with a lighter weight rather than pushing it to limits of permanent injury with an insane amount of weight like this ?
i would do my kbell presses using mainly legs like this.. i could put up an 88 pounder.. but my trainer made me try it no legs and i could only put up a 62..
Im sure you can use all encouragement you can doing this my friend so great job. Was that you also doing the SSST? If so Good on you man. Hope you hit your April 09 mark.
@ewanmethane a good tip it to keep your elbows in more and breathe out when in clean position before u fly it into air. as this lets the elbow and kettlebell and elbow sink more in to your body and then when u go up more power will transfer from legs to elbow and up in the air. i cant lift that weight but i have a great instuructor and igor morozov came over to our gym for a workshop for a few days. hope this helps and thats amaizing the way you are lifitng.
Have done some deadlift recently, it's not something I do a lot of. Mainly KB's at the moment but plan on more trad weights (to include squat/dead/bench/overhead press) over the next few months if I get time.
if you could learn the WKC (World Kettlebell Club) technique on how to lift the kettlebell properly and with flawless form, you would kill it man!!!!!! you should try to get some formal training i can try to put you in touch with someone in your area. where exactly do you live?
I think technique is my main let down as I'm not particularly great at jerking a kettlebell properly. I doubt you'll find anyone near Scarborough in the UK who can teach kettlebells
Rob, is London anywhere near you? i can probably put you in touch with someone there!! i was told they are starting a kettlebell club there. let me know.
just watch as many video's as you can then to get a better understanding of the proper form for the jerk. my training is very limited right now i can only do the snatch and swing. i injured my lower back and i cant do any jerks right now until it heals. i am very upset about it.
getfamousnow08 it really wasnt about me tootin my own horn, he said on there for someone to challenge him , and i was pointing out i already did, it might have appeared i was being arrogant. sorry. that wasnt my intention, when i saw this vid yes i was excited that i had a chance to promote myself for the first time. lol
Great Job!! People need to relax and appreciate a tremendous effort; instead of tossing themselves publicly. Obviously you're very strong, the fact that you keep on producing via hard effort speaks volumes of your inner strength (versus engaging in online pissing matches). Look forward to your next one: D
not bad friend. but i have already challenged you and the kettlebell lifted here weighed 140lbs or 64kgs and i did more than 20 reps!!!! this is me in this vid.
i can put in the link so just type in my name in the search ..... Andy Fitting
no strongman or anything ewanmethane, too many injuries from playing american football all those years. i have been trying to focus a lot on kettlebell sport. my goal is to lose 50lbs and try to keep most of my strength, prob not possilbe though lol.
I have been working on my snatches very hard, so here is the challenge.
I weigh 100kg right now, and i am working on snatching a 24kg bell for 50/50 in under 10 minutes, only one hand switch, can't put the bell down either (GS Rule set) So for you my logical challenge is can you snatch the 32kg for 50/50 with only one hand switch and no putting it down.
The Other stuff i am hitting hard will be plate curls this month. 20kg plate is almost coming back up!
This dude knows what he's doing.

Andy, that is awesome - 25 reps at 64kg!
I wish I could get my hands on a competition size bell of that weight. This 60kg I use is very big and has a 1.9" dia handle.
What else do you do mate, Strongman?
Good work
