Ming and Clyde are "dabbling". Mostly these are ducks of the genus Anas like Mallards, etc. Dabbling is how they search for food in surface water. Ming and Clyde are eating grass and roots and probably insects they find in the wet soil. I don't fertilize my lawn, either. :)
