  • I haven't made up my mind about the "planned obsolescence" topic, but something seems a little bullshity about it... It seems like it should lead to critical questions...

    .

By the way, this documentary is awesome!

  • What about fashion? Isn't fashion a type of "planned obsolescence" that is inherent in markets? If a company anticipates trends, shouldn't they build a product that will suit the length of that trend, or should they focus on making it last a hundred years?

    .

I'm just saying we should take into account, what consumers actually WANT. They make light bulbs that last extremely long times but they're pretty damn expensive. Someone wants them, most buy much cheaper (lower quality) alternative...

  • Is the idea of "planned obsolescence" really economically sound? If companies actively reduce the life or quality of a product, isn't there a powerful incentive for the next company to exploit that by pointing it out or just making their product last longer?

    .

And I don't want to spend tons of money on a computer that will last 40 years because mine will be obsolete in 7 years. Most of us can't afford a diesel Mercedes... We're lucky there Hyundais to buy much cheaper.

    .

    continued...

  • i wish all 28 thousand of us would just tear down their news buildings and stampede over these crooked "news" reporters!

  • Lol at Bill's blowup. XD

  • Bill O'reily is a fresh and hot pile of shit from Satan's ass !

  • Charlie Brooker's very funny and a great critique. However he's also out and out against 911 truth, often attempting to trash the movement on his myriad shows. Shame on him.

  • EVERYBODY type Illuminati backwards in there address bar followed by .com!!! CRAZY SHIT!!!

  • those fake tears cracked me up. the media is so full of it.

  • Some tips:

    1. Keep it simple and to the point. You don't have to repeat yourself five times. Bouncing around from topic to topic is counterproductive; make your point.

    2. Lose the rants. Develop your point slowly with a combination of arguments, and then summarize it with expositions, don't make the point itself with exposition.

    3. Start slowly. You've developed a fundamental point, that of the noble lie, but you're spouting conclusions before you've drawn the viewer in.

  • If the Noble Lie is the 'special drug to [...] put over the rule of philosophy on these people' ('these people' meaning you and I, of course) which Plato speaks of, then, surely, friends, Marijuana is the antidote.

  • @JonathanSMorris - Dude, i like the way you think.. =) Cannabis, DMT, even Psilocybin... All stimulate an awakening of consciousness, and are thus rendered illegal by those who are threatened by a global awakening of consciousness. The "War on Drugs" is another aspect of the Noble Lie to be covered in a future episode of WYBM... Thanks for watching, and for your feedback, Jonathon!

  • @huskavarna I'd have to agree and disagree with this theory...yes drugs may 'open your mind'....but only if used in moderation or short duration. It would be like taking cough medicine to get rid of a cough...and then continuing to take it even after the cough has subsided. You might say...continuous use is a preventative measure...but that would only make sense if after your mind had been open, you would suffer loss of memory if you quit taking drugs. to be continued...

  • @huskavarna I have a great number of friends that are regular drug users...mostly just smoke weed...and although their 'minds have been opened' to the truth...they are just as, if not more so, complacent to the way things are. The difference...well..something like this..before, they were getting f&^cked in the ass and didn't know it. Now, they are being f&^cked in the ass, know it, and just don't care enough to do anything about it because they believe it's futile to try and make a difference.

  • American's as well as world wide the people need to "string- together " the issues, displays and marketing done by MSM. Once you see them in their entireity THEN you begin to understand the hypocrisy and deception by these gov't and corporate whores. Very simple. What ever they say / the exact opposite is truth. lol

    Get a clue humans ! It's marketing !

  • Oh and fuck Beck. I hope he gets penis and anal and breast and brain Cancer.

  • I love this show. I hope there's an alternate site besides Noobtube.

  • @1982CFD - Thanks for your constructive feedback.. it's definitely our first collective effort, and there's always bugs to work out... i think it's worth reserving judgment until you've watched all 10 parts however, because you can't presume to know or understand something until you've consumed it ALL. Then you'd be making an informed dismissal. Without doing that, it's a presumptive dismissal, and especially parts 8 and 9, you are missing some REALLY good stuff. =) Thanks for watching!

  • I agree with their assessment of the FOX news pundits, but the liberal media is just as bad and more prominent. Just look at how condescending, patronizing, elitist Olberman, Matthews, Maddow acts

  • @funk7000 i agree i think they did a good job in this series of starting with the liberal media especially with how dumbed down and blatantly shoving your situation in your face, with both the "superfriends" childish brainwashing shit and the goldman sachs clip with "do you believe in MAGIC?" on the wall while they give you a dumbed down explanation of how they manipulated you out of the financial welfare of the entire country

  • Oh, I see. This series is about how we are all the same. No wonder it felt like all the same crap from mass media, this series is strictly about yuppies talking to yuppies. yuppies saving yuppies. yup.

  • @DeniseMatteau - While i can appreciate that you are using your smarts to try and figure out our "agenda"; However you incorrectly identify us as "yuppies", when we are "Artist/Activists" trying to develop an self-aware decentralized NON-cult environment that fosters critical thinking and compassion to achieve something better than simply personal gain or sense gratification. We seek to Re-Ignite people's curiosity, not to tell them WHAT to think, but to show them HOW to think. Is that cool?

  • @huskavarna well, while you are setting out on a good and noble mission, I hope you realize that the most powerful propaganda is often the most unspoken. The unspoken propaganda is often also the least recognized. I read "safe" into the "fear-free" phrase in your site description, and "safe" translates in the Orwellian mode into "tyrannical", "heterophobic", etc. One of the truly "safest" things to do is to let people understand that fear is not necessarily a bad thing to feel.

  • @DeniseMatteau - Again, appreciated where you're coming from, i would watch the series to the end, and you will see we talk about the Noble Lie as being more of an OMISSION of facts.. You are correct, it is what they DON'T tell us that affects us much as what they DO tell us to believe. Re: "Safe" vs. "Fear-free", I think those are two separate terms in their nomenclature. You can be Fear-Free and still be at risk. I don't promote "safety" or "security" - those are Orwellian buzzwords. =)

  • @huskavarna put fag oreilly and his buddy beck in a closed ring with me, both at the same time, ill fucken gouge their eyes out and pound their skulls to crush their wasted brains

  • @DeniseMatteau - Apathy, complacency & uncertainty are our biggest enemies, in my opinion. The fact we have become deceived by the Noble Lie and are willing to defend it - it is a prison for our mind. Our lack of discernment and methodology of critical thinking allows the yuppie elites to control us, so we just need to learn that methodology to give us a Virus Scanner for our minds.. Then we will stop being batteries for their system, and take our own power back! =)

  • @huskavarna stfu you brainwshed pothead

  • @xBecka88x - Thanks for your constructive and logical comment! =)

  • @DeniseMatteau sittin there pulling a face like a tortoise that has learned to enjoy the stink of his own fart...primary for him is anger, gets wound up by virtually anything to the left of mussolini, hectering and yawing like a wolf that has his nuts caught on a coat hanger...lol

  • I am having a hard time watching these episodes because they are subjecting me to all the crap I avoid by coming to Youtube, but for some strange reason I am staying with it to get to the point of the series. If there is one.

  • Charlie Brooker... what an inspiration!
