its not ultmate, its not water cooled and u can get better than a quad core, plus AMD produce better processors than Intel, get an nvidia geforce 460 gtx super overclocked gpu, better than the one u got, and at last, the monitor.... you make me sad sir, the things a huge lump of donkey shiz, ill ask my friend to upload a video of his gaming rig, HL2 300fps, minecraft 450 fps....... a good video just annoys me that u put "ultimate" in the name when its not really,

@xPiiNGUx I don't see how you "defeated" me. If he's gonna upgrade it, yeah you are right. But it is as simple as i can be, Nvidia Geforce GTX 460 Super Overclocked GPU DIDN'T EXIST AT THAT TIME!

ok. this is a lush build. gonna do the same build but get two gtx 560ti's and get a 32 inch monitor. with your build it is deffinetly time to upgrade the gpu and tft. overwise fantastic build.
You're didn't tell how the 4HDD's were configured, I would still go with pure Raid0, whatever others may say. External backup units are there for a purpose :P
Anyway, in day to day performance, sad but true, this is not going to be any faster than my 400eur box :D
how much watts must my power supply be to support an AMD Phenom II 6 core cpu , a 2Gb ATI graphics card 8GB Corsair Ram , 1TB Hard Disk and an 32 GB SSD Boot Drive ?????
Core i7 is a lot of wasted money if you ask me. Both the processor and the boards for them cost an unjustifiable amount. For the price of a single i7 system I could easily build 3 amd systems with the same amount of power. No I am not just one of those amd guys I actually was intel for the longest time until I saw how much more I could do going to amd.
why dont you stop fooling around with intel an nvidia ovrpriced junk and actually go for amd and ati way better in pricing and in most not all but most cases out performs too so stop playing with toys and go pro
@Froanite he must be stupid he would never even use half that much ram it was a complete waste of money there is no game out that utilizes more than 4gb of ram idc what you say im a game designer i know what im talking about
Holy hell I want. 4TB of memory? Thats probably more information that the human brain can store. I know for sure the human brain can store over 1TB of memory but 4 of them? DAMN!
Rofl at the 3DMark Score, My X6 1055T 3.81GHz, and XFX 5830 1GB, get a better score, lol, but nice system anyways dude. 14,829 on GPU and 43,271 on CPU :P
why 2 optical drives? optical storage is dying for me, I bought a combo drive for my pc but barely use it. PS3 is my bluray player and the optical drive that I have in my pc is almost never used anymore. Only for installing games and windows os... burning blu ray disks??? hell no, not at that speed
now all you gotta do is make a new comptuer with a thermaltake level 10 case, 24gb ddr3 2000mhz ram, 2400w psu, coolermaster v10 cpu cooler, a 6 core i7 extreme, 4 1tb hds and 4 kingston 500gb ssd, 2 bluray burners, and for the video card you have 2 choices. 2 5970s or 4 gtx 480s :) your choice :P oh and then 3 27in monitors to top it all off :P
DID THIS KID JUST USE 12 GIGS OF RAM? damn bro, you gonna get some nice shit with that. I'm already excited to watch the seventh one xD Nice by the way.
@WhereTheVideoEnds there are 3 different kinds of psu, non modular, modular and semimodular.
non-modular is what you're used to, tons of extra cables hanging around, none can be removed.
modular is where all the cables can be added and removed, so you can minimize clutter in your case.
semi-modular is where only non essential to pc cables can be removed. so semi-modular psus have permanent 24-pin atx, 8-pin cpu, maybe a sata or molex, and the rest can be added or removed if you want.
Even for the time it was built, this pc is highly unbalanced. The PSU is overkill . CPU exaggerated. 12Gb of RAM ... I will not comment. And after spending thousands of dollars in overstated components, you put the stock cooler. looooooooooooool. For God's sake. i7 6Gb RAM + 920 + 280 + GTX HX-750W + Noctua NH-U12P choice would be a much more accurate and balanced ... cpu is worst? Make OC. i7 920 works at 2.66GHz and i7 940 2.8GHz... It's very easy to put the i7 920 working at 2.8 GHz...
Couldn't agree with you more on most counts. This rig is crazy inefficient. Unless the plan is to add more video cards later there is totally no need for that kind of PSU.
And the stock cooler business is just a bit silly. Works great if you want a meltdown couple years down the road though (:
Lolz @ the 12gigs.
As a side note the GTX285 is a fairly overpriced video card. Better to do a 275 if your looking at cost vs performance.
awesome system i wish i had the money for that but i don't need it anyways i just play free games haha and a amd athlon II x4 620 4gb of ddr2 800mhz ram and a HD4670 are enough for that lol
why using 4 hdd but no SSD. im using 2x 640g HDDs from WD in raid0 and an additional 40gb SSD from OCZ and btw the ssd is much faster than a SATA2 HDDs in raid0. but overall i really like your rig
@techkid100 A bit less actually. In the uk would be around £800 which isn't much... I mean now it would. Except ram would add more (Price went up :( .)
@techkid100 actually it would run about 2500 my set up is actualy better but costs less but i sacrifced some ram for other stuff i have a smaller power supply but still 850 w is big
3.5 on stock cooling!?! That's awesome! I heard you could get 4GHz + with better cooling. I've been saving to build a PC and it's basically this one. (Only I don't go all out: i7 930, 4-6GB RAM, etc. Just a little more budget)

MysteryRedDragon 1 year ago
@sciguy14 People tend to overestimate their PSU requirements. Go 8 or 900 if you are worried. The price difference isn't much anyways.
sciguy14 1 year ago
@MysteryRedDragon
Sure not 700W and sure not 800W or 900W :D
You have to say which ATI Card. The HD 5770 takes 107W and the HD 6950 takes 200W.
To the power supply: Dont buy a noname shit a la LC-Power, Xilence or shit like that.
Buy a 450W< power supply from Corsair, Enermax, Cooler Master, Cougar and be happy ;)
