You know, it is still an advantage that the girl pretending to be a boy still looks like a girl like in japanese version for you can't easily mistaken that the movie is about a romantic story of two homosexual people unlike in Taiwanese where the girl really looks like a boy with exaggerated expressions. Plus the story must not focus on LOVE since they are still studying ( the actors ) it should focus more about youths' lives and remember STUDY FIRST BEFORE YOU ENTER THE KINGDOM OF LOVE
In My opinion, I think the Japan Version is much better. I have already seen both versions and compared the two. I think the Japanese is more funnier cause it shows more about youth and high school life and shows how friends stick to one another. And I don't really care about the romantic scenes and the looks of the actors cause I'm more after the soul in a drama.

I really liked the Taiwanese version. I started watching the Japanese version, but the actress was so obviously female (very feminine bone structure) that I just kind of didn't bother finishing. Maybe someday I will and have the best of both worlds.
I prefer the Japanese version cuz all of the guys from different dorms are always having fun and doing weird things, there's more comedy in the japanese one although I prefer Wu chun than oguri but everything else goes to japan:D

I definitely vote for Hana Kimi Japan. The acting was better, they were funnier, and the interaction between the cast was awesome. It was like they were actually in the story and that the story was real. You can actually feel the emotion in their roles. HKJ all the way. :D

as in following the manga properly. taiwan hands down. although the japanese covered i think more important scenes that i felt was at least. japanese actually followed the hs outfit where taiwan did not. as for the themes i love them all.the dog in japanese version was more alike then the taiwan dog.and the japanese followed the manga too. but they did it outta sequence. i guess thats it.... from all that i can remember. but i give both shows props

Ella had no depth and over exaggerated EVERYTHING. And, too be honest... She did look like a guy. Not an attractive one either. She has a very unfortunate facial structure. :/ She didn't represent the character she was supposed to be playing well physically or in script.

I both think they did a great job like if you want something light hearted watch the Japanese version want something less hearted watch this version . I guess it just depended on your taste . I just don't get people that are flaming this version or the Japanese version . Can't we get along I mean were pretty much watching the same show but different version . You can never go wrong with both versions . There some things I like better in the Japanese version but it goes the same way

hanakimi japon don't the order of the things but it is more funny sometimes furthermore they acting this serie after the end of manga whereas hanakimi taiwanese can't finish because the mange wasn't finished but the story is more respectfull than japon (sorry i am french please excuse me for the mistake)

the japanese version is funnier..but the Taiwanese version follows the manga..and has the nice sano..the only thing i didnt like about the japanese verison is that i hated Sano in the japanese verison they made him an uncute jerk and it seemed to faver nalatsuxmizuki..in the original manga Sano was a really nice sweat guy with an adorable (in a guy way) personality...thats why even if the japanese ver was better i still faver the taiwan cause it had nice sano

Yes but i havnt finished it...cause im watching both at the same time and am about to finish the japanese one..i finished that one fatser cause it was soo funny haha...but i only got to ep 6 in the taiwan so idk if in the taiwan gilbert was mizuki;s first crush...but i know in the manga he was and they almost kissed when she was like 13 or was it 12 O.o..

i like senpai hiro,their cheering squad...comedy type...unlike in taiwan...but also i like the acting of jiro w. he really did a good job for his role...and it is natural every time i watch jiro...same with toma ikuta...both are different in ending.....both of them did a good job for thie r own role......in the end i like both of them...
It had so much humor in it! And also the ending was so much ender, i just didnt like the Taiwanese ending. I also prefer Nakatsu and Mizuki to the Taiwanese roles. But i prefer the Taiwanese Sano because he has so much more personality and is better looking. Where as Sano is just to cold. :l
The guys from both versions are smokin hot, but Maki wins hands down over Ella. Ella kind of seems like she's only cute from certain angles OUTSIDE of the series. In the series...her appearance seems kind of annoying. Maki was super cute in her role. She was the whole reason I watched Hanazakari.
i dunno why, but in my opinion the izumi/quan in the japanese version is played way too cold. thats why i prefer the taiwanese version, where his feelings might be shown a little bit more precise... at least thats what i think ;)

i watched both Japan & Taiwan. i can say that Taiwan is way better than Japan. Ella played the role better than Maki && Wu Chun is FAR HANDSOME than Oguri. Taiwanese version is more funny & the actors are better than the other. That's a FACT not opinion. Haha! Peace, taiwanes version lovers. :))

I like the japanese version more. I mean, that's of course saying that I haven't watched the taiwan version yet. I've skimmed through some scenes though. It looks like the japanese version is a bit more organized with the settings. The guys are so damn sexy in both versions though. [; I plan on watching both anyways. :]

@ahibec921 The Taiwan version is a bit more serious and realistic . It sticks to the manga more but you could never go wrong with both series

Not to mention Wu chun ^^ and while some people might think that Ella looks bad as a boy, she is just more convincing as one than Ashiya, though I do like her too... but she looks way too much like a girl to be in a boy's school in my opinion :P

hanakimi japon don't the order of the things but it is more funny sometimes furthermore they acting this serie after the end of manga whereas hanakimi taiwanese can't finish because the mange wasn't finished but the story is more respectfull than japon (sorry i am french please excuse me for the mistake)

i loved both of the versions and cant pick which i like more...
ella and maki are tied for me and pretty much so are wu zun and shun.
but definitely i think ikuta toma was better and danson tang was better than their respective counter-parts... just my opinion though :)

the japanese version is funnier..but the Taiwanese version follows the manga..and has the nice sano..the only thing i didnt like about the japanese verison is that i hated Sano in the japanese verison they made him an uncute jerk and it seemed to faver nalatsuxmizuki..in the original manga Sano was a really nice sweat guy with an adorable (in a guy way) personality...thats why even if the japanese ver was better i still faver the taiwan cause it had nice sano

love both hana kimi! i remember staying up wee in the morning just to finish hana kimi. but i watched first japan version, and it send me laughing like crazy, and then I watched taiwan verson, and made me fall in love with chun and ella! gosh the chemistry is unbeatable! love them, so for me, both are worth watching, because they have different styles!

Yes but i havnt finished it...cause im watching both at the same time and am about to finish the japanese one..i finished that one fatser cause it was soo funny haha...but i only got to ep 6 in the taiwan so idk if in the taiwan gilbert was mizuki;s first crush...but i know in the manga he was and they almost kissed when she was like 13 or was it 12 O.o..

idk...cause im only on episode 6 and there is 15 episodes..and gilbert comes later in the manga so if he is in the taiwan one then he would apear later

i like senpai hiro,their cheering squad...comedy type...unlike in taiwan...but also i like the acting of jiro w. he really did a good job for his role...and it is natural every time i watch jiro...same with toma ikuta...both are different in ending.....both of them did a good job for thie r own role......in the end i like both of them...

In my opinion the Japanese version was better.
It had so much humor in it! And also the ending was so much ender, i just didnt like the Taiwanese ending. I also prefer Nakatsu and Mizuki to the Taiwanese roles. But i prefer the Taiwanese Sano because he has so much more personality and is better looking. Where as Sano is just to cold. :l

The guys from both versions are smokin hot, but Maki wins hands down over Ella. Ella kind of seems like she's only cute from certain angles OUTSIDE of the series. In the series...her appearance seems kind of annoying. Maki was super cute in her role. She was the whole reason I watched Hanazakari.

i dunno why, but in my opinion the izumi/quan in the japanese version is played way too cold. thats why i prefer the taiwanese version, where his feelings might be shown a little bit more precise... at least thats what i think ;)

before i really like the jap version!some people says that the taiwanese version is better so i decided to watch it but to my dismay it didnt really click on me!i finish watching it but i dont know why the taiwan version is sort of out of storyline?like what happen to the father of quan?suddenly its out of the story, and regarding the secret of ella they just put an end into it .then thats it! the end!unlike the jap version its so comical but still there's a good moral story also.

i watched both Japan & Taiwan. i can say that Taiwan is way better than Japan. Ella played the role better than Maki && Wu Chun is FAR HANDSOME than Oguri. Taiwanese version is more funny & the actors are better than the other. That's a FACT not opinion. Haha! Peace, taiwanes version lovers. :))

i love japanese version best, they're really funny and the first time i watch it like ' I WANT TO WATCH IT AGAIN, N AGAIN, N AGAIN, N AGAIN. the plot was funny, unreal n comical which makes it special, japan hana kimi is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! maki horikita is my favourite japanese actress of all time, she's damn cute n pretty, HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
