  • i'm 12.I plan I will get all the parts and build a pc for myself.

I will use my old hity pentium 4 for myself

  • Thumbs up if you have a dragon PC!

  • I have a Dragon PC xD

  • @points2shopPROOF I'm getting a LEO.

  • I don't think it would be wise to run ANYTHING @ 5Ghz+ 24/7. At least not with the product on the market now. I had an AMD 4400x2 in my last machine and now an intel 8500. Both work really good. Maybe I'll buy an AMD again next time and spread the $ around.

  • I got a phenom II X3 that beats the Q8500, I think intel is having a spasm.

  • Awesome intro music.

  • GeForce Or ATI ?

    I want to Rocks ...

I can buy 2 but .... Geforce or ATI ?

  • I have the ATI's (2 4850's) I like em but i would go with the Nvidea if i had my choice all over again. But then again i haven't been able to put them in my new mobo yet, maybe a new mobo will change my mind. Nvidea is getting better reviews right now though.

  • Im getting Phenom II X4 940 soon :] it broke the world record for 6.5GHZ

  • I just bought mine three days ago. Definitely get this Asus board if you do, IMO it's the best combo out there right now: h-t-t-p://usa(dot)asus(dot)com/products(dot)aspx?l1=3&l2=181&l3=896&l4=0&model=2818&modelmenu=1

  • i think the best combo is Asus crosshair III formula with the phenom II 955

  • Well now it is yeah, but none of those products were on the market a few months ago. Maybe the crosshair but not the 955. ....but I can always upgrade my stuff with this mobo to the 955. Plus I wasn't looking exclusively for a gaming comp, so it fits my needs.

  • ok i see :P

  • I have a 530W PSU a 780G MOBO and an ASUS Radeon HD 4850...do i need to upgrade my 530W poer supply to get the phenom II working ??????????????

  • No.

  • nope

  • I would suggest going for a 600W-700W PSU that is 80Plus certified and uses Active PFC. They are a little bit more expansive that way, but you will save power and your computer will actually get the power it needs.

  • wow im planin to get the phenom II 720 instead it drinks less power and it can compete well against the phenom s II X4 and Core2s..i think this one is the choice....

  • make sure yor mobo is atleast 125w, cause I bought a EVGA 750a, and had to return it since its 95w, and Phenom II is 125....

  • the phenom outperforms the Q6600.

the phenom 2 outperforms the core i7.

our gates are much bigger so wee need more volts.

intels gates are much smaller but there kinda overvolted to sit stable.

  • are we comparing the top spec CPUs?

Dont get me wrong please i love AMD , my system is AMD (Phenom 2 940), but my brothers intel (qx9770) runs the games faster , and with new I7 it be even better , i just say that the intels pricing is mad in fact .

  • your wrong kid.

the stock phenom 2 gets higher frames in crysis than any intel processor.

then you overclock the phenom 2 & it beats anything.

  • The X4 might beat some of the lower-end Intel chips, but not their high-end stuff.

And how many people have liquid helium at home?

  • its wasnt meant to beat an i7 or something, more or less competing with intels higher quads, it does really great too, especially for like $200

  • If someone already has an AM2+ board, it's a good upgrade then.

But for a new builder, they will have to decide. The price difference in the end is only around $50-70. Intel Quads like the Q9550, on average clock for clock, is faster. But if that marginal performance isn't useful, then go the AMD route.

For gaming purposes, either processor is fine, since a decent GPU can make up the minor difference in FPS. For work, I'd have to say Intel.

  • I think u hav lost your objectivity, you are in love with AMD.

p.s noone hav called me a "kid" for a very, very long time :-)

  • there must be something wrong with your brain.

what the fuck makes you think you can put 2.0v throw an core i7.

what you dont understand is intels 2009 chips are based on the same process from there chips back in the 80.s

  • lol you must be deluded or on drugs.. ha-ha-ha.. nice lolz there boy..

  • am just rather educated when it comes to hardware in comparison to you.

  • I'm sorry to brake it down to you but to say that phenom > Q6600 or Pii > i7 is not "educated" in hardware, it makes you fanboy and stupid..

  • really.

i am not a fanboy of AMD they just processors correctly.

  • the phenom 2 totaly pisses on core i7.

  • i7 is WAAAAAAY better, but phenom 2 is all you need $200 versus $700??? im going with amd too :)

  • the hole point is price/perfomance.

celerons dont hit anything like 5ghz.

  • jup AMD and ATi own , i mean price / perf.

  • dude AMD is better right now with proper cooling phenom 2 hits over 4ghz easily, hits up to 5-7ghz with 500 litter per hour liquid cooling

  • god....thats so amazing

  • Intel dual-cores and quad-cores hit 4Ghz easily. E2180, E5200 hit 4Ghz and are below $100. E8600 hits 6Ghz+. A Celeron hits 7.36Ghz.

I don't see how any of these numbers are relevant to what brand is better. And I don't know of many households with liquid nitrogen or helium at hand.

  • How nice but this is secound best high end and we know it.Core i7 and GTX 295 beats AMD but there is a money issue so i guess it's ok to have a Phenom II 920 OCed to 3,4 Ghz and a HD 4870 or 4850 CF considering this financial crysis all over the world.Still when is AMD going back to the super high end in terms of CPUs?Phenoms II are great but they need more juice to compete with the Core i7.We need you back in the game AMD,don't screw up again.

  • I agree, But its not really fair to compare an DDr3 based i7, against a ddr2 amd2+. Im going to wait for the am3 release with the more cache, and ddr3 memory controller. May beat the i7, But idk. TBH, i dont care, i just like the competition, because it keeps technology moving forward. Who it comes from, i could not give one shit lol.

  • You have a healthy way of thinking and i agree with you on "From whom is coming,i don't give a shit".Still DDR3 won't give Phenoms II a boost higher then 10% from what i've red on the internet and afaik Phenom II 945 will have the exact same amount of cache a total of 8 mbs.Anyway my point is that AMD has some catching up to do in terms of performance and i hope for the sake of low prices it does not screw up.

  • Thankyou.

Yes, hopefuly amd will catch up, as im fed up with intel's rediculous prices. I may end up going with the phenom ii for my next upgrade, concidering the awesome price/performance ratio on the phenom ii's atm.

  • WOW

  • Hope AMD Phenom II adult dragon(DDR3) release out soon.

Some benchmark has been done said that Phenom II performance is close to Core i7 but Phenom II still can't make it.

Hope DDR3 version can increase the performance due to DDR3 and support SSE4.2(4b).

  • Nah..i find amd/ati combo does well on all games..no issues...Nvidia only has one thing i like better and it is its open GL..with certain games like Second Life it does better..

  • Eh, I think you will find AMD and Nvidia are a better combination.

  • word

  • long live AMD & ATi for ever!!!!

  • I Just Use My Intel Skull Train With 2 Processor

    QX9770

  • yeah for 2000-3000$ good.....sheep...

  • Yeah Goood Sheep Ohh Anyway May I ASK

What Games You Play Now Hehe^_^
