  • How about not doing the shitty durrhurrimsobaditsgood bullsitnext time?

  • Ricky knows he doesn't need to keep his job so he stands up to the authority figure- his main income stems from selling drugs. His goals are continuously being met through Jane and video taping beauty. Aesthetic keeps Ricky confident and fearless. He's beyond having self-esteem issues at that point in his life because he's learned that other people's opinions don't really matter (hence him acting vague in public).

  • Is what ricky did in the scene not unconditional love for his father? Ricky accepts his father for who he is. Even if he is an "angry, bitter old man"! He doesn't try to change him or his point of view. he simply says what his father wants to hear because he know what he is like and Ricky's forced, yet reassuring words are the only thing that will stop his hatred and have a peaceful drive to school.

  • What a wanker.

  • I am studying to be a counsellor at the minute and what a nice surprise to find Rogers and my favourite film American Beauty sharing the limelight. Great bit of work and very funny.

  • This words show the full stupidity of Carl Rogers in that a person is a full person regardless of whether or they are a bigot, correct in abhoring sin, or merely confused.

People are the way they are due to classical conditioning (stimulus pairing) and operant conditioning (behavioral strengthening).

  • Nature and Nurture? Who has the answer?

  • Have you ever read the book "Meaningful Differences in the Everyday Lives of American Children" or "The Social World of Children Learning to Talk" by Todd Risly and Betty Hart?

Did you know that the rate you learn new words in your first ten years old life are conditioned by independent variables in the environment? Or maybe not so independent variables as your parents were and other adults were also conditioned.

  • Poopy face haha
