I use to go same cake shop for the cake bits too use to live in Sunderland street harpuhey moston brook school

Me and Mate mike Boland went there and all from burgess school till moston brook with it's own new pool 1969-74

Used to go from Moston Lane school, learned to swim there, but my Mother used to go there dancing in the war years..

We used to come out of there and go up moston lane and beg for broken cakes at the local cake shop. Eh they were good days.

its such a shame it was let to go to ruin i used to go there every tuesday with my school moston feilds i learned to swim there i surpose like every thing if money isnt put in to it its gunna go in the end which is real shame good memories of my chilhood yes i see cockroches to but that lack of investing in great place wish you had some pics of it when it was in the good old days its a bit cold the video without music good pics thow well done

How can i arrange that? It breaks my heart to see a part of my youth being ripped apart! Call me nostalgic if you will but i grew up there!!

great memories, spent everyday of the school hols in there with my free pass, late 60s. swam at harpurhey swimming club, and plyed polo till early 70s, with flynner, weaver, polly etal.thanx for this

I remember going swimming here when I was a kid. I ended up with a cockroach in my mouth - needless to say, I gave the old dump a miss after that experience.

Just been here this morning, incredible building, the history this building must have seen is amazing! walking through it empty and quiet your mind plays games of what it must have sounded and smelt like. Beware the crazed pigeons who now own this work of art, I almost had a small accident when one flew out of the rafters in the 1st floor gents toilets, lucky I was in the right place! Thanks for your posts letting us know about this gem

Done this place twice now. It's going to become part of the college soon next door so anyone wanting a visit better get down there now. Access has changed, it's over the college gate on the main road, over the fence on your left then go straight ahead along the fence until you get to a cramped corner. There's a board loose on your left, give it a kick if needed. Get down there while you can people.

Have you been to the new Baths around the corner? Absolute waste of time if you genuinely enjoy swimming, full of messers who get in your way, playing around in the water, and this is adult hour!
