a clutch i think, the americans can't get anything right, $600, $2 for parking meter, it's proberly £2 for the parking and £600 for new clutch and other repairs, the americans drive automatic cars, while britain, most cars are manual, that's why you see some of their films from people saying "does anyone drive stick".

It looks to me that the tires are what are spinning. Once the clutch is engaged (foot off of the clutch) it's not going to slip unless it has problems anyway. Now standing on the "accelerator" with an automatic will heat it up and eventually burn it up. I'm an American, I drive "stick" just as a point of interest. Many people do over here. Most women, however, don't know the first thing about them. Must have been a damn good sale on make-up at the mall.
