Why wondering about the fact that he wrote in English? To reach a larger audience probably, it's anyway a Germanic language, but who really cares? Just enjoy this awesome song! ;) \m/
@KompEvgeny Well, you have to understand back then, almost nobody in Sweden knew them. They had few Swedish fans. They wanted to speak to their fans, and to do that they had to use a language they would understand. English is a language spoken everywhere. Swedish is a language spoken in Sweden.
@Pshynosis Ahhh true, but my point is, English is spoken everywhere. You can go to Brazil, China, Japan, France, Sweden, Finland, Egypt, anywhere at all almost, and find many English speakers.
Swedish...not so much. Also, another reason, Bathory always used small distribution labels. It would be hard for a smaller label to translate the albums the lyrics for the album sleeve and things. Back then you couldn't just copy everything into google translate or something.
@Pshynosis Well, that very well could be it also, but I doubt it. It is hard enough to write amazing poetic lyrics like this in ones native language. Doing it in a foreign language is much more difficult.
Hammerheart! First and best viking metal album ever made. Nothing I've heard has come close to it in this genre. Maybe Creed of Iron by Graveland could be a contender, although that album is fueled more by hatred and epic battles.
CHRISTAINITY & ISLAM ARE BOTH JEWISH-MADE RELIGIONS! Satanism is ok if it to see through the "third eye" aka seeing what christanity/islam for what it really is, false spirituality & fruad & hailing mother nature. However if it is really to worship that angel fag that anger the jewish gOD & hates you too then well that's ghey.
@Metalicalypse Lies, you fool. Did you live in that time frame? if you did, you'd know the Christians were savage beasts who killed all in their way in the name of their 'god'. They corrupted ancient texts and they burned the rest, making it seem as though they are the 'holy' ones. Civilization existed far, far before the Christians ever came about. Christianity has only been around for a little more than 1,000 years. Jews, less than 1,500.
@IlvesofDrakkonDamm Why lies? @IlvesofDrakkonDamm Amon Amarth sums up as a melodic death metal band, they only make use of pagan/viking/folk themes for lyrical content but they do not have the specific elements these genres have. Viking metal is not quite a metal genre so to say, if I were to give it a proper term, I would rather use folk black metal (which is not quite correct) or atmospheric black metal since it puts a lot of effort on atmosphere rather than the rawness we know from old black metal.
This is maybe by far the greatest and the most epic song ever written... The way Quorthon sings; there is just no other, none else can generate so much feeling and power to vocals! ODENS HAIL!!!
@pariskotsaros just a note, Epic often refers to the drawn out and "Epic" song structure rather than just meaning good, I would use 'Good' to compliment the song and 'Epic' to describe the song structure \m/
Now, lets stfu with this history fuck, you convert bs...ignore the trolls trying to convert and other douches....if you give them attention, you are only feeding them....and if you keep it up, I will raise Michael Jackson from the dead and Quorthon to have sex before your very eyes.
Asatru following only the Aesir and Vanir and laugh or turn the other cheek and ignore the though of other gods then their own. Odinists like myself, follow the Aesir and Vanir but do respect and acknowledge the possibility of other gods like jesus and don't slam our fists down and say no your god doesn't exist, but we do crave supportive fact on the matter as we are History junkies.....I have asperger's syndrome for those who can't read...so I'm trying.
Which yes is highly wrong, but then you have many paths of Norse, the two modern ones are Asatru and Odinism....then you have those side paths trying to tear them apart and do what they do lead by neo-nazis[german's were once Anglo Saxons meaning English German] and modern-crusaders[pricks who support the original killers of Jesus but most are forced to do this].....the two main only have a one slight difference though...
The point of this if it had been made into the full movie is simple, its yes a shame that the Scand leaders...not going into a history debate were paid off or convinced to support the Catholic faith.....not TRUE CHRISTIANITY that was lead by guru Jesus, etc, etc....the vikings were forced into doing it and some yes did rebel others pretended, and others did convert out of fear[which no would not make them a true Norse follower]. People harshly judge every Christian because of this though....
Anyways, lets stop bitching about History, Lesson is Jesus was good/pleasant his little cult meant well, the Catholic pricks hence the ones who killed him and exploited his cult to establish what is MODERN CHRISTIANITY are the bad/unpleasant...now lets enjoy the music k? Cuz this is getting pointless...its a music video...no shit this shit happened, corruption is everywhere its happened with the Vikings yes, their leaders forced them to convert or face death...yes, but look its jolly ol' Q!
@Aryacalanatha Actually Ragnarok is just when the Aesir and Vanir go to war against a strong near equal force. So Ragnarok in which you speak of is actually fictional added to the Eddas by Christian Catholic Crusaders as they still believe those are some holy book to us; however, they are very incorrect there. The problem is....man, time and space never end in Norse therefore what you know as Ragnarok is fictional created by the ignorant Catholics.
stupid people need guidance and guidelines, atleast christianity has made it so that weak, generic people have had less of an influence on the world. whether you like it or not, our modern day lifes, and the way we live them, have been made possible by christianity and our christian forefathers. be thankful for this modern world where we can enjoy what we like, think what we like and so forth. just enjoy the vid, you people bashing shit are just as bad and generic as christians.
@DennChooch You are joking right? Do you even know anything about what was done in Europe in the name of Christianity? People were forced to convert and those that weren't were brutally murdered on pyres.
You are an idiot. Heathenism was in many ways much more liberal than the Abrahamic faiths, more caring, more honourable and more than anything else gave people guidance without the need for organised churches. Do your homework kid.
@KingSaeward@demoniaccity you guys probably wouldn't even survive a moment within the worlds you're wishing for. remember, what you're saying right now is made possible by our christian forefathers, kiddo's ;-)
@DennChooch Actually, heresy against Christendom was possible by freethinkers and Scientists in the Renaissance - many of whom were executed for questioning the bible. The victory of Christianity over Pagan Europe was political, not because it yielded any real significant cultural advantages.
@DennChooch Actually, westerners managed to cast aside religion in order to attain progress kiddo, until then education was just the manipulation of the church and everything was under their control. After the protestant reform which offered a limit between religion and scientific progress, the western countries began to make progress. So religion was just a hindrance kiddo, learn some world history or specialize yourself in religion culture before speaking bullshit..
If that's the last thing you brought to the table, you just got smashed, bro. This is what happens when Christians try to be smart on shit they have no FUCKING BUSINESS talking about.
Go preach to some unfortunate kids, nitwit, and leave the real thinking to the Pagans and the Atheists.
@xxSanadaxx also, leave the thinking to pagans? really? the idea of 1 God makes little sense to me--the idea of multiple Gods and then some rituals is even more insane. you only approve of paganism because your favourite music and movies happen to be about it.
@DennChooch There is no rightful religion, be it christian, pagan... The one you choose is the rightful one. Lets not forget that the gods we worship were created by men, and men spread the word about them. Logically, nobody can prove the existence of a god. Everybody has the right to believe in something, whether it comes from music, books, events, etc it is not important. The bible is just a simple book yet people blindly follow it...
Wrong. My Ancestors - proven by DNA tests - were Scandinavian placed at around 1000 to 1200 years ago. I follow the Asatru beliefs and regularly attend Blots at my local Hoth, and I'm proud to do it. I wear my Mjollnir happily. I hail and praise the very same gods my ancestors hailed, and I'm happy to do it.
Your skewed ideals of religion are your own. Just leave others to believe as they wish.
Only thing worse then a Christian is a militant, angry Atheist. Conversion to nothing.
@ayedudebomb In the Middle Age "kiddo" progress happened after the Geographic Discoveries and Renaissance and especially after the Industrial Revolution which happened in the Modern Age, idiot. What progress brought Joan of Arc if you're still at it? Let me tell you, other than the future independence of France, nothing...keep learning, you have much more to go...
@DennChooch Actually they would, Norse stick together and aid one another...what you know of the vikings is completely fictional from movies....the true barbaric ones were the Christian Catholics who established the modern world as a political/military cult after killing a peaceful cult leader....you should go back to school, your knowledge of History sucks.
@DennChooch i fucking hate the modern world, would way rather live as a nord in the ancient kingdoms, fuck modern christianity, your all fuckign jews anyway
@demoniaccity Point is, Norsefolk survive anything...Christians constantly bring their downfall....why fight Christians when they only bring their own end? Exactly, now do us all a favor Sheep....shut the fuck up and listen to the music.
@DennChooch No, we aren't thankful for this modern world. To be honest the reason Norse followers faked conversion was actually because they knew about how stupid Christians are when it comes economies. So, my ancestors faked conversion and let the Christians bring their own end....don't believe me? How many times did the Roman Empire fall? Look at the current economy..CHRISTIANITY! XD You fail so hard its amazing!..True Norse followers like myself are wise enough to let you kill yourself.
@valdyrgramr You are a real idiot...How old are you 10? 12? Since when religion has something to do with economy? It's not about being Norse, American, Spanish, idk what other nation, confession is not important when it comes to politics and economy... the civilization, mentality, concepts and beliefs, these are what define a nation and its power. Norse followers might have faked it at the beginning but later they accepted it.
@Kalimdor199 Not really, I'm twenty one, and the economy slipped because of Christian views. Oh lets go fight several wars in the name of god, not to survive, lets go fight for oil....god wanted me to this...Bush ran his campaign as a Christian....just as the Roman's started to run Rome its all the same.....and no the real Norse followers don't convert, they stay Norse. You are talking about a handful of traitors who gave up...those are not Norse followers.
@valdyrgramr LoL, the economic wars took place especially since the Geographic Discoveries but it was always behind the politic interests. Christianity had no such influence on economy, maybe just through the influence of certain leaders but that's it. Since the end of the First World War, economic interests started to become the prime focus of every country, followed by politic interests. Religion does not run a country nowadays (except some countries in the Middle East)
@Kalimdor199 Btw, I think you mean since when does right? and Norse isn't a Nation, you are a fucking idiot XD you have no clue what you are talking about....Christianity since the Roman Empire took it over after arresting and killing it has ran it on the same thing, Politics and the military force behind it! That is all Christianity is! If you are so stupid you can't open your eyes and realize that, then please go buy or borrow some History books v.v cuz you are a fucking idiot.
@valdyrgramr Actually, I am a graduate of the History University and when it comes to history few can beat me. Ofc Norse is not a nation, but it is a population, the nation is defied by identity, language, economic life and which manifest itself in the national culture and in the origin conscience. Christianity, until the Modern Age was the most important but afterwards, progress started because people managed to cast aside the influence religion had on countries and also on economy, idiot.
@Kalimdor199 Actually there are plenty of people who can beat you at History. Stating you are some higher being at someone makes you a blind sheep...no wonder your argument is so invalid, you really believe that only a few can beat you? Plenty can beat you, there will always be many who can! Open your fucking eyes...you have failed once again proving sitll you know nothing of History....just give up....and one of the hardest falling Countries is run by a religion...the USA...
@valdyrgramr Every country suffers from crisis. And the crisis was not provoked by religion, but because the countries failed in having a proper financial and economic plan. Everything that you say is not based on anything other than pure speculation. Prove what you want to say, and don't just assume, otherwise your argument is not credible. Not only Christian countries are falling, all the system is falling...
@Kalimdor199 Easy, the USA was found on Christian views, they built Christian Churches here, One Nation Under God! Every President mentions god and jesus! If a war is fought and it doesn't go their way they claim god wanted them to! There happy? I mean its common knowledge they teach you in elementary school....well in my country...btw I was trolling 3/4 of the time :P I do that on viking metal vids when a stupid Norse follower and a stupic Christian debate this shit...its music...
@valdyrgramr Let me tell you this, I ain't a Christian follower nor Norse. I am a proclaimed atheist. Though, what you said, about wars US fought, using God when you fail is just a mere excuse... Churches are built everywhere, because Europe, America, part of Asia, big part of Africa, and Australia are christian. Still, church and religion nowadays do not influence politics and economy like it did centuries ago. At most, is used only as a pretext in Israel's case for example.
@valdyrgramr And what is failing, is not the christian system, because this system persisted through way too many political and economical systems, but the democratic, capitalist system. Like communism and fascism had their period of glory and their fall, so will democracy as well, until a better system will be implemented.
@valdyrgramr America was actually founded Pilgrims that came here to escape religious enslavement, The Puritans are the group your thinking of, and we are not proud of them
@lookatthewholepictur No, America was founded by Vikings and Indians, the Vikings saw dirt and left, the Indians stayed and were destroyed pretty much by the pilgrims.
@valdyrgramr ...But Indians settled America in like 10,000 BP. The Vikings mainly began being a thing in the eighth century. They were two entirely different things. Furthermore, the Vikings settled closer to Greenland and Canada, which, while part of NORTH America, isn't necessarily what (admittedly ignorant) people tend to think of when they think of the word "America".
Vikings DID visit America and whatnot. But they hardly helped found it. =P
@CasaiAgicap Well in a sense they did, they FOUND but didn't establish it as country. The Indians were the first to, still it is Christianity who is to blame for the fall of it. What people are getting wrong primarily to my factual trolling is that modern society is developed off the ideals of Roman Catholics....I'm not talking about the cult leader Jesus who was peaceful and lead that Christianity which wasn't called that back then....I'm talking about what the Roman's exploited.
@CasaiAgicap Also, how can you say the didn't help found it? How would anyone of Europe get here back then? The vikings invited the early sail did they not? How could a country that far away thanks to an ocean be found by it? Lol, you have to give the vikings a tad more credit, in fact part of turning on the Indians after learning their ways comes from wise battle strategies partly from the vikings...who used those and raids in order to survive...
Since the crusades and the counter reform, the religion factor became just a simple pretext in every war. Christianity especially, not talking about other religions. The main reasons for every war since the 18th century are politic interests and economic interests (or maybe strategic interest), and that's it. You are just a fucking paranoiac that is so blinded by manipulation...I really feel sorry for you.
Funny how people get so upset over these comments especially of religion etc heh...Hell most of the time I set a playlist and enjoy the music rather not waste my time reading comments. Every now and then a few too many beers hit me and I have nothing better to do but read youtube comments :D

@pariskotsaros just a note, Epic often refers to the drawn out and "Epic" song structure rather than just meaning good, I would use 'Good' to compliment the song and 'Epic' to describe the song structure \m/

Asatru following only the Aesir and Vanir and laugh or turn the other cheek and ignore the though of other gods then their own. Odinists like myself, follow the Aesir and Vanir but do respect and acknowledge the possibility of other gods like jesus and don't slam our fists down and say no your god doesn't exist, but we do crave supportive fact on the matter as we are History junkies.....I have asperger's syndrome for those who can't read...so I'm trying.
valdyrgramr 2 months ago
Which yes is highly wrong, but then you have many paths of Norse, the two modern ones are Asatru and Odinism....then you have those side paths trying to tear them apart and do what they do lead by neo-nazis[german's were once Anglo Saxons meaning English German] and modern-crusaders[pricks who support the original killers of Jesus but most are forced to do this].....the two main only have a one slight difference though...
valdyrgramr 2 months ago
The point of this if it had been made into the full movie is simple, its yes a shame that the Scand leaders...not going into a history debate were paid off or convinced to support the Catholic faith.....not TRUE CHRISTIANITY that was lead by guru Jesus, etc, etc....the vikings were forced into doing it and some yes did rebel others pretended, and others did convert out of fear[which no would not make them a true Norse follower]. People harshly judge every Christian because of this though....
valdyrgramr 2 months ago
Anyways, lets stop bitching about History, Lesson is Jesus was good/pleasant his little cult meant well, the Catholic pricks hence the ones who killed him and exploited his cult to establish what is MODERN CHRISTIANITY are the bad/unpleasant...now lets enjoy the music k? Cuz this is getting pointless...its a music video...no shit this shit happened, corruption is everywhere its happened with the Vikings yes, their leaders forced them to convert or face death...yes, but look its jolly ol' Q!

Aryacalanatha 2 months ago

DennChooch 2 months ago
@DennChooch You are joking right? Do you even know anything about what was done in Europe in the name of Christianity? People were forced to convert and those that weren't were brutally murdered on pyres.
You are an idiot. Heathenism was in many ways much more liberal than the Abrahamic faiths, more caring, more honourable and more than anything else gave people guidance without the need for organised churches. Do your homework kid.
KingSaeward 2 months ago
@KingSaeward @demoniaccity you guys probably wouldn't even survive a moment within the worlds you're wishing for. remember, what you're saying right now is made possible by our christian forefathers, kiddo's ;-)
DennChooch 2 months ago
@DennChooch Actually, heresy against Christendom was possible by freethinkers and Scientists in the Renaissance - many of whom were executed for questioning the bible. The victory of Christianity over Pagan Europe was political, not because it yielded any real significant cultural advantages.
KingSaeward 2 months ago
@DennChooch Actually, westerners managed to cast aside religion in order to attain progress kiddo, until then education was just the manipulation of the church and everything was under their control. After the protestant reform which offered a limit between religion and scientific progress, the western countries began to make progress. So religion was just a hindrance kiddo, learn some world history or specialize yourself in religion culture before speaking bullshit..

Also, calm down. It's only the internet; no need to express anger or rage.
DennChooch 1 month ago
@xxSanadaxx also, leave the thinking to pagans? really? the idea of 1 God makes little sense to me--the idea of multiple Gods and then some rituals is even more insane. you only approve of paganism because your favourite music and movies happen to be about it.
DennChooch 1 month ago
@DennChooch There is no rightful religion, be it christian, pagan... The one you choose is the rightful one. Lets not forget that the gods we worship were created by men, and men spread the word about them. Logically, nobody can prove the existence of a god. Everybody has the right to believe in something, whether it comes from music, books, events, etc it is not important. The bible is just a simple book yet people blindly follow it...

@DennChooch

Kalimdor199 2 months ago
@DennChooch Actually they would, Norse stick together and aid one another...what you know of the vikings is completely fictional from movies....the true barbaric ones were the Christian Catholics who established the modern world as a political/military cult after killing a peaceful cult leader....you should go back to school, your knowledge of History sucks.
valdyrgramr 2 months ago
@DennChooch i fucking hate the modern world, would way rather live as a nord in the ancient kingdoms, fuck modern christianity, your all fuckign jews anyway
demoniaccity 2 months ago
@demoniaccity Point is, Norsefolk survive anything...Christians constantly bring their downfall....why fight Christians when they only bring their own end? Exactly, now do us all a favor Sheep....shut the fuck up and listen to the music.
valdyrgramr 2 months ago
@DennChooch No, we aren't thankful for this modern world. To be honest the reason Norse followers faked conversion was actually because they knew about how stupid Christians are when it comes economies. So, my ancestors faked conversion and let the Christians bring their own end....don't believe me? How many times did the Roman Empire fall? Look at the current economy..CHRISTIANITY! XD You fail so hard its amazing!..True Norse followers like myself are wise enough to let you kill yourself.
valdyrgramr 2 months ago
@valdyrgramr You are a real idiot...How old are you 10? 12? Since when religion has something to do with economy? It's not about being Norse, American, Spanish, idk what other nation, confession is not important when it comes to politics and economy... the civilization, mentality, concepts and beliefs, these are what define a nation and its power. Norse followers might have faked it at the beginning but later they accepted it.
Kalimdor199 2 months ago
@Kalimdor199 Not really, I'm twenty one, and the economy slipped because of Christian views. Oh lets go fight several wars in the name of god, not to survive, lets go fight for oil....god wanted me to this...Bush ran his campaign as a Christian....just as the Roman's started to run Rome its all the same.....and no the real Norse followers don't convert, they stay Norse. You are talking about a handful of traitors who gave up...those are not Norse followers.
valdyrgramr 2 months ago
@valdyrgramr LoL, the economic wars took place especially since the Geographic Discoveries but it was always behind the politic interests. Christianity had no such influence on economy, maybe just through the influence of certain leaders but that's it. Since the end of the First World War, economic interests started to become the prime focus of every country, followed by politic interests. Religion does not run a country nowadays (except some countries in the Middle East)
Kalimdor199 2 months ago
@Kalimdor199 Btw, I think you mean since when does right? and Norse isn't a Nation, you are a fucking idiot XD you have no clue what you are talking about....Christianity since the Roman Empire took it over after arresting and killing it has ran it on the same thing, Politics and the military force behind it! That is all Christianity is! If you are so stupid you can't open your eyes and realize that, then please go buy or borrow some History books v.v cuz you are a fucking idiot.
valdyrgramr 2 months ago

Open your fucking eyes...you have failed once again proving sitll you know nothing of History....just give up....and one of the hardest falling Countries is run by a religion...the USA...
valdyrgramr 2 months ago
@Kalimdor199 The USA was a foundation country and still is of Christianity, that is why it is failing so miserably.
valdyrgramr 2 months ago
@valdyrgramr Every country suffers from crisis. And the crisis was not provoked by religion, but because the countries failed in having a proper financial and economic plan. Everything that you say is not based on anything other than pure speculation. Prove what you want to say, and don't just assume, otherwise your argument is not credible. Not only Christian countries are falling, all the system is falling...
Kalimdor199 2 months ago
@Kalimdor199 Easy, the USA was found on Christian views, they built Christian Churches here, One Nation Under God! Every President mentions god and jesus! If a war is fought and it doesn't go their way they claim god wanted them to! There happy? I mean its common knowledge they teach you in elementary school....well in my country...btw I was trolling 3/4 of the time :P I do that on viking metal vids when a stupid Norse follower and a stupic Christian debate this shit...its music...
valdyrgramr 2 months ago
@valdyrgramr Let me tell you this, I ain't a Christian follower nor Norse. I am a proclaimed atheist. Though, what you said, about wars US fought, using God when you fail is just a mere excuse... Churches are built everywhere, because Europe, America, part of Asia, big part of Africa, and Australia are christian. Still, church and religion nowadays do not influence politics and economy like it did centuries ago. At most, is used only as a pretext in Israel's case for example.
Kalimdor199 2 months ago
@valdyrgramr And what is failing, is not the christian system, because this system persisted through way too many political and economical systems, but the democratic, capitalist system. Like communism and fascism had their period of glory and their fall, so will democracy as well, until a better system will be implemented.
Kalimdor199 2 months ago
@valdyrgramr America was actually founded Pilgrims that came here to escape religious enslavement, The Puritans are the group your thinking of, and we are not proud of them
lookatthewholepictur 2 months ago
@lookatthewholepictur No, America was founded by Vikings and Indians, the Vikings saw dirt and left, the Indians stayed and were destroyed pretty much by the pilgrims.
valdyrgramr 2 months ago
@valdyrgramr ...But Indians settled America in like 10,000 BP. The Vikings mainly began being a thing in the eighth century. They were two entirely different things. Furthermore, the Vikings settled closer to Greenland and Canada, which, while part of NORTH America, isn't necessarily what (admittedly ignorant) people tend to think of when they think of the word "America".
Vikings DID visit America and whatnot. But they hardly helped found it. =P
CasaiAgicap 2 months ago
@CasaiAgicap Well in a sense they did, they FOUND but didn't establish it as country. The Indians were the first to, still it is Christianity who is to blame for the fall of it. What people are getting wrong primarily to my factual trolling is that modern society is developed off the ideals of Roman Catholics....I'm not talking about the cult leader Jesus who was peaceful and lead that Christianity which wasn't called that back then....I'm talking about what the Roman's exploited.
valdyrgramr 2 months ago
@CasaiAgicap Also, how can you say the didn't help found it? How would anyone of Europe get here back then? The vikings invited the early sail did they not? How could a country that far away thanks to an ocean be found by it? Lol, you have to give the vikings a tad more credit, in fact part of turning on the Indians after learning their ways comes from wise battle strategies partly from the vikings...who used those and raids in order to survive...
valdyrgramr 2 months ago
Since the crusades and the counter reform, the religion factor became just a simple pretext in every war. Christianity especially, not talking about other religions. The main reasons for every war since the 18th century are politic interests and economic interests (or maybe strategic interest), and that's it. You are just a fucking paranoiac that is so blinded by manipulation...I really feel sorry for you.
