  • Hey fireface,

I'm planning on doing a 1200 conversion on my iron. I want to put a new exhaust as well. I want a nice deep throty sound, but not extreme loud. Wich exhaust would you consider. The V&H slip ons or the V&H 2 into 1 (better performance) or the sideshots. I really like the look of the sideshots, but I'm affraid they are too loud. The biggest advantage is that I haven't seen any around here ...

Hoping for some feedback to help me out.

  • have to jump on the band wagon ,love the bike man. should be picking mine up in a couple months. any complaints so far?

  • @neiloneil123 None. If you know what your getting into you wont be disappointed. Enjoy and be safe.

  • save your money get python 3 i got them on mine and there are louder then any other. and thats fact proven and they cost a few hundred less....

  • can you add passenger pegs with the side shots on?

  • Yes you can. But only before you put the pipes on. @SuperMikePT

  • @fireface1978 quick response. I'm about to buy the nightster and was going to install the pegs and get an extra seat later. So I should get the pegs first then the exhaust? How come? I'm trying to choose a set of pipes that won't affect performance but still look good. The other 2 into 1's (blackout, competition) just don't look all that great. I'd like the sideshots but every nightster has them and I haven't read great reviews on them. Do the sideshots add to performance?

  • The pegsare much harder to put on if the sideshots are already on, you can still do it but its tight and you have to remove the heat shields. I did notice a power increase but I added the the power commander and a high flow aircleaner at the same time (about 25% more hp). I was very happy with them all around.@SuperMikePT

  • @fireface1978 man, thanks for your advice! I read on forums that some guys scrape their sideshots when turning right. Would I have to really slow down into turns and not lean as much with side shots?

  • You will scrape but it isn't to bad, not any worse than left turns scrapin the kick stand. You'll get a little flat spot on the bottom pipe but it didn't bother me. Good luck.@SuperMikePT

  • Well done!

While I can to some extent understand criticism from those who are passionate about european/asian sport bikes, their refinements, racing/handling ability, etc.how can anyone criticize HD?

Fundamentally sound, aesthetically beautiful, and with such a noble history! With just a bit it can be made into something like this..

NO they are not sport/race bikes, that is not what it is about.

What a well rounded, overall package! Easily they can become any dream bike you wish.

  • Im think'n about get'n the sideshots, have you had much trouble with them scrape'n into turns or anything?

  • Youll scrape a little but its nothin to worry too much about, I think its worth it for the xtra power you get with the 2 into 1

  • putain ca décoiffe !!!!.

  • You think thats messed up, you should see what i did to your mom and sister.

  • how did you make the handle bar like this???

  • Nice bike mate. but the flame aren't good for ur engine. it cuz lean and loose of power and more fuel consumption

  • flames are always fun but im not into the bars, turned down bars are sick, but i think if you did drag, or just shorter bars with less bends, then that would really pull it together

  • awsome!!!!!

  • nice Exhaust Pipes, good sound

  • Flipped around and upside down, Thanks

  • did you flip your bars around?

your bike is sick! i want one

  • I keep coming back to see this bike. I really like it. I met you in Portland at a HD "party" and I never forget your bike.

  • Thanks man hopefully see you around this summer

  • Cool! You had flames coming out of the pipes!

  • standardschüssel

  • still stock, I'm looking for a way to move them back though.

  • i know, i gots drag bars on my sporty and im tryin to get rid of them.

  • sick.

  • They dont bug me but I never rev it to much when I see them either. You can get the quieter baffles for like 30.00 and even add some more if its still to loud, my buddy has the quiet baffles and it still sounds good.

  • did you have to move your foot controls forward or are they still in the stock position??

  • hey man I just ordered these pipes with the super tuner for my nightster, just wondering if the cops have bothered you at all, i live in Ontario, they can be pricks about bikes and loud noise around here.

  • Hey man, I saw you take off in the other video. That video is a salesman all on its own. Can you tell me what kind of pipes those are? I think the compliment the bike well. Did you install them yourself? What would something like that cost? Thanks

  • I dont think you can get the plate to work with the dyna, its got a little led light with it, your prolly better off getting one of those side mount plates with the brake light built into it off ebay, that way you can lose the brake light on the fender to

  • Side shots on a sporty sounds amazing.

  • Nice bike, dig those handle bars and pipes!

  • Great bike, lose the stickers man. They ruin it.

  • SICK... Best Nightster on youtube, hands down.

You did well, very well, carry on.

  • wow thanks man

  • nice looking bike dude. Is the seat done custom?

  • Killer bike, very tastefully done.

  • i love the way the flames shoot out, that is awesome,

  • Hey, cool, first bike I've seen with the sideshots. They look decent.

  • How about all u guys that r now going to copy his style get some originality and come up with some ideas by yourself. Im so sick of people just copying other peoples shit. There are thousands of diffrent parts for these things try to be a little diffrent.

  • did u do the handle bars urself or had someone do it for u. im getting a nightster and after watching this vid i decided on that style. plus i think ur right about stretching u out im 5'11''

  • I did it by myself, I wasn't sure it would clear the tank , but it worked great. You'll love the response in the handling. Be careful not to nick the wires when you put the grips back together and put a towel on the tank, scratches suck. Oh yeah and when you pull off the left grip (it glued on) make sure you get all the residue off, otherwise it will give a sticky throttle. It always feels better to work on your own bike. post a video when your done i wanna see another naughty nighty

  • thanks ill let u know when i post it

  • the bike looks killer

i am wanting to get a nightster but i think i may be to big for it. this may sound a little wierd but how tall are you. i'm 6'2" 195lb just want to know if i'm going to look like grape ape on that bike.

  • thanks, i am only 5-10 but i have a couple of buddies that r over 6' and they look pretty good on it, with the bars down it kinda stretches you out. Its a fun bike, its a lot a power and agility compared to a dyna or something bigger.

  • Nice! Ride safe.

  • Nice bike man. I really dig your side shots. I went with the short shots, should've went side instead. Here's a vid of my nightster. I like what you did with the bars too...very innovative and cool. Ride safe man.

    Steve

  • Kinda of funny, I have watched your video about 100 times. I take off my fender when its not raining because I liked yours so much, your grips and bars are badass, I went with the sides because of the power chamber, I'm pretty happy with them

  • pretty nice man very diffrent. If you get it dyno tuned it will get rid of that back firing.

  • thanks, I did get it tuned the guy said it popped because the pipes were so short, you think I should take it in again?

  • No i wouldnt a buddy of mine has one that does the same once it gets hot. you got it dyno tuned right?

  • I did get it tuned, I don't mind the popping that much, kinda goes with the retro thing, ya know.

  • those handlebars are AWESOME... what are they called? is there any video or imagery of the riding position?

  • thanks, they are the stock bars just flipped around and upside down, i will have some riding video up shortly

  • I would like to second the motion over the last comment. Since this video; I also decided to go green. This afternoon I was preapproved. My bike will be ready for pick up tomorrow morning at Harley Davidson Las Vegas.

  • congrats, your gonna love it, I cant tell you how many compliments i've gotten on the bike, its like being a celeb wherever you go.

  • im pickin up an olive/denim nightster next week. its on order. im goin w/ the sideshots because of this video. ur bike is beautiful.

  • thanks, your gonna love it, i should be posting a video this weekend of me riding it, i love the way the bike handles and gets through traffic.

  • This is one of the nicer custom looks I've seen for this bike. It's like the bike version of a cool little hot rod. I'd just like to know if thoes are the stock handlebars in a reversed position, and do you feel comfortable when you ride.

  • Awesome bike. I was considering a similar build here in the United States. But your handlebars have me reconsidering. Do you happen to have any video of you riding to show the riding position of the bike. The bars look pretty severe but I'm thinking it's not as bad as it looks. Or can you at least comment on the riding position/comfort? Thanks, Jeff

  • great story, rich and compelling.

  • cheers.

  • Hey, Your bike looks & sounds GREAT! I'm going to get the same pipes and the fuel pak and a new air cleaner would I stil have to get it re-mapped?

  • i got the dynojet power commander, and i guess you don't have to do it, it will still run pretty good, but you won't get all the power and you'll prolly have a lot of popping. I would highly recommend getting it done, the power and feel are worth it.

  • Thanks for the info.

  • Hello. Can you tell me if those Vance and Hines are the regulars or the quiet baffles? Thanks.

  • those are the regular baffles. They are pretty loud, esp. on concrete.

  • Its the original seat, I got it reupholstered by a guy that owns a furniture shop. They can amazing things with your stock seat, The brown really gives it that vintage look.

  • where did you get your seat!? i love it!
