The banks loaned massive amounts of money (through sub-prime mortgages) to people that were poor and that had no way to repay the mortgage (hence the term "bad paper"). The banks got money from the fed through bailouts (some under Bush, but even more money under Obama) to prevent them from going under and to allow for more loans to be made. Banks then did loan to people, but only those with rlly good credit. You need to educate yourself.

But he was attacking Barney Frank for Barney saying repeatedly that "If you don't lend money to poor people, you're a bigot". The whole economic mess was because of banks lending money to poor people that they knew would never be able to pay it back (bad paper). Barney helped create that atmosphere. Of Course, the banks share the blame, as does Sen. Dodd, and Pres. Bush.

The banks loaned massive amounts of money (through sub-prime mortgages) to people that were poor and that had no way to repay the mortgage (hence the term "bad paper"). The banks got money from the fed through bailouts (some under Bush, but even more money under Obama) to prevent them from going under and to allow for more loans to be made. Banks then did loan to people, but only those with rlly good credit. You need to educate yourself.
