  • You are such a good mother!! Keep up the good work!

  • It's really nice to see this done rather then only being TOLD how it's done. Ty for posting. It looks like he enjoys it,lol. Like a massage almost.

  • does this hurt?

  • adorable kids and mom, those are lucky kids for having u as mom :-)

  • does this hurt him?

  • @beautygirl197 No, this has to be done because of his genetic disease. Cystic Fibrosis causes a thickening of the mucus and this needs to be done everyday. It shouldn't hurt, it is just a rhythmic light beating to loosen the mucus.

  • how is he today?? i am worried about this precious child!

  • I'm surprised he's not waking up from you doing that to him during his nap. What exactly is this thing suppose to help do?

  • You got mad beats xD one of my good family friends with CF is getting much better and is almost 45!

  • oh he is so adorable

  • My grandson just turned 1 & I have spent alot of time trying to find these Palm Cups, my local Cystic Fibrosis chapter called Bethesda to find our where we could buy these percussors. They were able to give me a distibutor list but does anyone know where we can get a pair to try without having to buy 40. We don't know if he will let us use them on him. Any info would be appreciated.

  • how many times a day do you have to do this?

  • @ICINGSUGAR7 : when he's doing well we do PT twice a day, but if he's sick we do PT three times daily.

  • @ICINGSUGAR7. We do PT twice a day if he's well and three times a day if he's sick.

  • very cute and lovely child.............

why not give Traditional Chinese Medicine or Indian Ayurvedic a try ? they tend to cure illness at the root rather than suppressing symptoms like Western Medicine.

  • @worstalentscout I thought there was no cure for Cystic Fibrosis?

  • @worstalentscout ; good to know you care. but TCM / Ayurveda don't have a cure for cystic fibrosis which is a pathophysiological structural problem of the lungs

  • @itubebuddy no harm giving TCM a try if you can find a qualified doctor............for example, bird's nest has cured quite a number of lung-related ailments............end of the day, no harm trying...........since it's a whole lot safer than medicine from those drug companies.

  • So amazing...you are doing a wonderful job! And your children are beautiful. :)

  • Is it hard for your son to cough up the stuff in his lungs?

  • As he's gotten older it's getting easier to encourage him to cough. He still doesn't bring up much though.

  • so cute ... you are realt a very good mother .. i am a physiotherapise and i wish that all the mothers do that ... so lovly ..and i like your way that u post your experance to others

  • Thanks!

  • cutie pie!

  • Hello my name is Shannon my mother lives is London England. A lady that she works with has a granchild with CF. I was wondering where you found these. I checked Wal Mart but could not find any. I sure hope you can help me..Thank You

  • I am looking too!

    Where can we find it?

    Please advise

  • @jihadam

Google Pediatric Palm Cup. Smith Medical sells them (but only as 40 per box). We got ours from our CF Center.

  • As a resp therapist, keep up the good work and may God bless your children, stay positive, and trust me, we in the medical community will find a cure. I have lost a child to sids, and kids are my life and your kids are my life too. Keep the faith.

  • Cute kid!!!

  • Thanks for sharing your world with me. I am about to be part of this new life of CF, my son who will be born this week was diagnosed in utero. I am grateful to learn anything I can.

  • No, I don't think so.

  • Do u have to be certified to perform the percussion?

And I saw it in one of my PT books and it shows them doing it in differen positions (sidelying) to access the different lobes???

  • For all intense and purposes - a mother with a child with CF is self-certifed in the techniques, but yes there are certified physical theripists

  • no don't have to be certified

    CF parents are experts haha

yeas there are many different positions!

upper lobes lower lobes left right front back etc
