What I've always wondered: What exactly are the gatherers?

Are they Alexander's servants that were killed and rebuilt in a frankenstein-like fashion? Because near the beginning they were drinking that wine that, like, burst their chests.

@web2student Those weren't the servants, those were the king's men that he locked in the wine cellar. though Alexander did say something about how 'maybe he could feed them the wine. That would take care of two problems'. It's also mentioned that the servants themselves were 'an odd lot, the way they moved could only be described as skulking'. Then Alexander talks about his servants dying and how he needs to make more.

Actually, and I'm not trying to get shouted at for this, the saw wasn't used xD I watched this show called 'death machines' and they tried it on a weighted human dummy, they couldn't cut through him properly because the saw just...didn't work very well. I think the Bull was used though, that one is the one that fascinates me most o.o

When I was in this level, I just ran to the torture rooms, grabbed the orb piece, then jumped off a bridge.

Never had to deal with Gatherers, because I would always respawn at the entrance with the orb piece still in my inventory.
