  • hah nice way better then a american v8 this has way more power with less horsepower. even a nice sound with open exhaust

  • I wanted the 540i 6spd e34...but went with the 1991 3.5 535i chipped 6 cylinder.5spd that came with limited slip...cause the v8 is more maintenance and almost all of them have old leaks..especially the early 4.0 v8 in this shape was crap..and 3.5 6 cyl will run till the wheels fall off..but i love all e30 and e34

  • and this only with a 4 litre V8 :D

    Incredible

  • haha call me a redneck but it sounded incredible.

  • Really nice;]

  • Yea, it really didn't sound good. Like an old Chevy. Maybe a proper dual exhaust with X pipe and Flowmasters, Magnaflow or other muffler. Of course, resonator delete. Please check out my video relating to the 740iL camera mount. It's all stock except for a cone air filter.

  • @viggoM35 it's difficult to do dual exhaust because the gas tank takes up about all the space from the single cut exhaust to the passenger side

  • Haha, crazy americans! buy a smooth running BMW V8 make it sound like a chevy!

    Brutal though ;)

  • @michelharlingen

I was on the way to my friends house to get my exhaust all welded up. Needed new catalytic converters on it. I needed to cut the old ones off and sell them to the scrap yard so I could afford to purchase new ones to get put on. Instead of towing it over there I figured why not drive it ;)

  • @steedaq86 We drove our Ford Mondeo V6 all the way from Hamburg to Berlin (about 300kms) with open headers, might think is "just a ford" but that 2.5l V6 had a real corny sound to it, but our E39 530D we now have doesnt have to hide itself either ;P

  • @steedaq86 Why do you have to have catalytic converters? Why not leave them out??

  • @proline1240 Because he probably lives in California where it's required by law...

  • @FelipeFromColombia Whao... that's lame...

  • @proline1240 Yeah no kidding... the laws here are just stupid and the president wants to extend them to the rest of the country as well

  • WOW! Miss my 540i :(

  • Hey, what kind of fuel pressure are you running with that list of mods? Which brand of AFPR did y ou use? The VAC/Aeromotive one?

Did the vac pullies lead to a discernible power gain?

And, lastly, the electric fan..what did you use?

  • See Now Thats a car. 6SPD TRANNY !!!!

    F%$# Automatic

  • they sound like 96-98 cobras :)

  • Yup. DOHC 4-valve per cylinder V8s, both of them. They're good sounding engines.

  • The E34 4 litre had an opt. 6spd. I thought it was 5 ??

I would like to get an E34 4litre but want a manual....hard to find.

  • The 530's has 5-speed. 540's have 6-speed's however you can interchange the transmission between the two.

  • 5 Speed Auto or Optional 6 Speed manual on the 540i's no Tourings had the optional 6 speed.

  • @MrORLY which is weird cause the ///M5 touring used the same trans as the 540i sport/6...wonder why they didnt offer a 6 speed for the 540 t...? I don't question the miracle that is BMW...

  • @whorebot325 Probably for the reason they didn't offer a 535i Sport Touring, many people just used them as Estate cars

  • My 540 still sounds like a benz ^^.. Need an exhaust mod ;)

  • very nice sound.. hope it runs as good as the sound!

  • Wow nice sound!

  • that is a nice sound for a bmw!

  • That, that is epic.

  • Great sound, just like a bmw should sound like!

  • that thing is mean!! Exactly like it should be!
