Hey Bro, I'm a paraplegic. I would REALLY like to talk with you. I don't know how much arm mobility you have, but if you're interested, I rigged my Harley so I can ride and it's really not too difficult. I speak in schools and military bases around the United States and Canada about the consequences of alcohol abuse, drug abuse and drunk driving. Drop me a line sometime.
holy crap!!!! id be so scared...ur amazing!!! i got hurt as a passenger in a car accident n am now a c7...have u tandem skydived after ur injury? im looking to try in feb. next year in hawaii...
You're a good man. Thank god you survived and continue living your life, sharing it with us and keeping that awesome personality going. You've recently inspired me to not be so negative and to find the good things in life that we can still enjoy as quadriplegics. I can't thank you enough!
It's great to see you still going strong in your videos. You're a true inspiration. I've always wanted to go skydiving myself but since I became epileptic a couple of years back I can't. But I like looking at videos of it. There are probably other things in life I can enjoy though, and seeing you doing whatever you can to keep doing things you enjoy doing when there's been such a massive change in your life is motivational. Thanks.
Ah, now I see how it happened. I missed the bit where you struck the student in the other vids.
I don't understand how the student 'falls too fast'. I was taught you increase speed until you're at terminal velocity at 260kph (every jumper). How come this was different.
Woot, love your wheelchair! Do you have kids? I bet they borrow that monster!
I thumbs downed you for that 2nd sentence, I am a skydiver, I am an extreme skier, I am a wildland firefighter, I am an EMT, I am atheist. Not everyone is religious, please don't assume we are.
Have a little respect for the guy... They were supposed to skydive in formation, and of course he didn't know that he would almost lose his life because of that...
Chris:I've avoided watching this video, I am not going through the routine of "U r a real mench and all that mierda" what you really are saying is when life hands you lemmons then you make lemonade.
I'm proud to call u my friend. The same thing when I began really feeling the effects of the MS that became Progressive in a short time rending me tetraplegic.
Hugs, lot of good moments and please keep in touch,
Wait a minute - why is the student not wearing a helmet? I mean everything could happen when you hit the ground, especially when you're just practising...?
Respect man. I had a close brush with death a few times years ago reason why I got this screenname. A miracle that I'm alive but still doing it whenever the weather's nice. You're a hero man glad 2 know you're ok.
These experiences are very important. Painful yes... but a useful guide for others that may find themselves in this situation... It would be easy to dispair without information like this to focus on.
I have seen other videos of your but I've never seen this one about how the accident happened. The greatest gift a man can give is his life for another. You truly risked your life for saving your student. You are a real hero.
this is sickening to me. I have 130 jumps to my name, and the sky keeps calling me but this scares the shit out of me. I hate watching videos like this because as afraid as this makes me, I also know, you can't let it stop you.
Chris, every time I see another of your videos, it reaffirms my belief that my daughter has found a true gem in you. I hope you remain a lasting part of our "clan".
some ppl post how sad this video is..i dont think its sad ...im mean...he survived...if he would have died then yes the video would be sad but this video is extroadinary
And to explain what I mean: We all have to look at what WE HAVE each day. We live in a society that brainwashes us to bitch and strive and postpone our happiness telling us we are not good enough. But we are great, that is the secret. Gratitude is a skill we can cultivate to combat this cultural trance. Please check out all of Chris's videos. Thanks
When I first saw the unedited version of this I was depressed for two days. But then I watched the other videos of him doing stuff. He's amazing. Truth is we will all die, not to be morbid or take anything at all away from this. But Chris's awesomeness is way way bigger than the sadness of these videos. Please check them out as well as his music. It's wierd but I think it will inspire you.
Wow.. In your earlier post of this video, obviously not narrated, I had all of these questions, like why didn't his parachute come out before? Why didn't he just pull the string or whatever, and why didn't he steer away from the pavement? But this definately explains it!! Thanks for posting! You truly are amazing!!
Congratulations on video 100 Chris! Hemingway said, "Courage is grace under pressure." Your story--the one you tell in your 100 videos--brings that to life. Thanks for your openness in sharing with all of us.

My son Dalton skydives, he used to work at Skydive Deland.
I worry about him. But he loves it, he needs to fly.
I hate it you got hurt so badly, but i certainly admire how you wanted to take care of your student.
You seem like a beautiful young man and i love your smile!
Thanks for sharing the video.
and i see your still having fun! lol
GOTTA LOVE IT!

The student seems to be an experienced skydiver practicing his free flying skills. Licensed skydivers don't need to wear helmets.

i also a c6-c7 incomplete quad wonder,
as you reached your final thought of, "this is it i'm going to hit the ground and die."
was there any thought in your head that god spared you for a divine purpose?
i guess what i'm trying to ask is, do you believe in jesus christ as your personal lord and saviour?
if not could i ask you, "what do you have belief in?"
hope to hear from you soon,
