Many people have the wrong concept of this piece.  Being compared to the one in 1984... It's should be given the consideration of the original. We still need a long way to go to end starvation in that part of the world. Thank God that there are artist who still want to help the cause. This year, 1989, was dominated by the fall of communism, huge unemploymentrates caused by the stock exchange crash in 1987, and an increased focus on other areas such as Latin America & Asia, that went through some rough times. Whether the beat is compatible with today's sound is really not that interesting, because people donated money again.

WOW did they THRASH that song BIG TIME!! Taking a GREAT classic such as this & literally raping it should be punishable by a law making it illegal for anyone involved to EVER sing again. What matters is, if the message remain true as it were 25 years ago, thank goodness for the kindness and generosity of those who donated to the Feed the World charities. What would be cool however is having all the performers from the 1984 original recording, the 1985 Live Aid participants, the performers on this video and those who performed in the 2004 version. That would be a cool performance IMHO. God Bless us all...
