Overpopulation is an obvious threat to society because our natural resources are starting to dwindle while our population increases cause it to go even faster. @outfucingstanding - That is exactly what I am saying. He forced all the experienced soliders into early retirement. Abondoned all armament projects, hense canvas doors on Humvee's. He cut 50% of military budgets, so when our boys go to war post 9/11, they had no body armor, kevlar, grenades, protective armor on vehicles, antiquated communication equiptment, etc.
So then Bush had to rebuild the military and intelligence community; there goes his little budget surplus(<--which is a myth!)

@JimFromWaterford I was in the military when the cutbacks came. The only people forced into early retirement were 1st and 2nd LTs who hadn't achieved a company command, and NCOs that had either refused or been denied promotion for a certain amount of time.
In essence, he fired all the soldiers that were sad sacks that were collecting a paycheck.
I just wanted to address this one thing, as I personally witnessed it. No one in my battallion missed any of the retirees, because they did nothing.

@fearguis Again, the higher ranking Officers were given early retirement packages throughout the military. You may have witnessed "sad sacks" getting the boot, but I know many proud soliders that were pushed out the door only to be begged back into the military post 9/11.

@JimFromWaterford Well, I don't know if you're trolling or serious, but we observe things from rate of rock erosion in geology, counting tree rings in biology, how long diamonds take to form, how long biomatter takes to become oil, how long rivers and seas take to move, plate tectonics, rate of gene mutation. I mean, every area of discovery presents things older than 6000 years. E.g. we just have to count the rings on old trees to find something older.

@Crowsfeet7 but he did insure 35 million more people who didn't have it. The CBO (which is a panel made up of conservatives and liberals) said it would bring down cost. If your 26yrs old and younger you can stay insured under your parents insurance. You have the option just as members of congress does to see which insurance plan works for you if you can't afford the private ones. Healthcare now is just much much better than it was prior to Obama passing it.

@Crowsfeet7 if its one thing the GOP can be critical of is the mandate part. Everybody has to get healthcare. Its a mandate that everybody does. But otherwise its a good plan. Now the private insurance companies can't drop people anymore with preexisting conditions etc... it will also make private insurance companies bring down there prices huge knowing the government's prices will be exceptionally cheap. Insurance companies have been robbing people for decades. Not anymore.

Only that Palin has done actual tangible things for Alaska and the people who live in it.
He studied constitutional law and done almost nothing, he basically followed his party lines as a freshman senator.
While Palin actually helped with the Alaska natural gas pipeline, negotiated tax revenues from oil companies for Alaska.
