i think he said he spent over 50k on all the equipment he's ever bought in his life or something. there is no way that rig is in itself 50k, no one in their right mind would buy it lol. i looked on ebay for similar products and most of those are in the $100-200 range.

A while back I watched a documentary about the guy that invented steadicam (called it "Brown Stabilizer".... lol) and a lot of the designs him and the company have gone through. I'm fascinated by stuff like that. Damn expensive though..
