Their taking care of well in captivity. Winter time they'll go and spray the whole enclosure with snow, their diet is probably healthier than any polar bear in the wild, since keepers make sure they get the needed nutrient's they need, they're given plenty of stimulating things introduce to their enclosure as well. Blocks of ice with treats, whole pumpkins, Christmas trees.
Also, most animals that come from the wild are now ones that have been harmed and those are usually reintroduced back into the wild, and the ones on display, no nothing else except this life style. These animals are to bring awareness to the wild animals and to protect the lands of wild animals so future generations have a chance to beable to see wild animals and wilderness.
i agree with cvcaproductions if they weren't looked after they wouldn't be there its about making the animal relaxed ^^

i feel bad for captive polar bears, they need cold temperatures & good food, the chances of overheating in captivity are high.
