@celebpoison If you activate X-factor into super AFTER she says it, it's avoidable. Phoenix can just air dash or teleport out of the way. And Justin couldn't do that trick in that scenario because the true unavoidable Taking out the Trash trick is a 1-frame link. Do it too early, and the invincibility of the super will run out and she will be knocked back. Do it too late, and Phoenix can avoid it. If Justin had a one hit Emerald Cannon, X-factor, Taking out the Trash, it would have been too late

It's no phoenix that is broken it is x-factor. x-factor needs to do at least 30-40% less damage. Playing phoenix has its risks, playing wolvy like justin takes skill. X-FACTOR NEEDS TO BE PATCHED!

I think it's fine the way it is. If you know what you're doing, Sentinel's monstrous strength shouldn't even be an issue. Unblockable setups aside, of course. But with his health the way it is, you just shouldn't get caught by Sentinel with most characters anymore. I think it's enough, and I think it's alright the way it is.

Why is no one pointing out that OBVIOUS mistake of the random beam super Justin threw out at the end after Phoenix already had X-factor? That wasn't the right thing to do even if he wanted to get random (he could have demon raged through one of her crouch A strings for example).

Also you're just plain wrong about Wolverine. Dive kick hit = lose the character. Incoming tag = lose the character. Throw with assists ready = lose the character. Opponent didn't guess right on a random Berserker Charge = lose the character. Instant overhead = lose the character.

The list goes on forever. Wolverine does the same damage per meter (in practical cases) as DP, but is faster and has an invincible teleport.

As for dive kicks and throws, those are your fault if they hit you. There's not much random about either of those. I will agree with Slash cross-ups being random, but that's still only 3 random factors compared to DP's entire game.

Phoeniz fundamentally breaks the metagame of MVC3... where at a high level it is completely possible to get randomed out by her and her ridiculous XF3 power-up.

I don't see why everyone cries about Phoenix, she isn't the strongest character by far. Wolverine with a LVL 1 X factor can destroy a character 100%. Even just using berserker charge he can do the same. For phoenix it costs an entire match not using any supers aswell as 5 bars and x factor to do damage like that.
