Whitney really did set the standard for today's female vocalist and many will come with great vocals after her but in my humble opinion she is always gonna be a rare find. I have heard many wonderful singers and i don't wish to take anything from them,but truth is nobodys voice is as complete as WH voice was. WH had the ability to touch on a full range of abilities with hers where others are good at this or that, but Ms. Houston could do it all. Very rare vocals indeed and full of power.

Its actually Whitney head voice. Her head voice alone is spans at least to E6 or F6,thats why I always said Whitney has a very high whistle register she rarely uses but its there. Her soprano when younger is very high effortlessly!

Depends on the artist. A voice is an instrument that needs to be taken care off. The great singers you just named didn't/don't have unhealthy habits like smoking, drugs, excessive use off alcohol and all that combined with partying 24/7. We al know how troubled our nippy WAS. I love the Houston's/Warwick's but come on that family is/was married to the cigarettes. Godmother Aretha, heavy smoker. Some voices can withstand such abuse others don't.
