Just like Ian Curtis said: "Instead of just singing about something you could show it as well, put it over in the way that it is, if you were totally involved in what you were doing". That's exactly what Thom does on the stage.
Amazing tune, and good job by everyone. I'm particularly a fan of Ed's backing vocals. Remember what he did on "Lift"? He sings for about 5 seconds and makes the whole song.
Radiohead is the synthesis of young thinking in our generation. This is not good or bad, is just a reflect (a mirror) that fits perfectly on Radiohead poetry and music. I can't remember any other band that deserves a title like this. Kurt Cobain has died too early to become a genius like Thom Yorke, for example. Other people, like Eddie Vadder, are great, but not sensible like Yorke.
Look at 4:06,jonny looks like he is fighting his guitar, like they are enemies...somehow the pure brilliance comes out and thats what makes him unique...most of the other guitarists sound the same, but you can recognize his style blindfolded.
This, my friends, is a great band. If some poor soul in this world didn't now what is music, i would pick radiohead to show him. They are banda that perfectly nows what to do. They flow with each other. Just fantastic to ear...and to see...
there was actually a video of him on the Radiohead website performing at a festival where he sung a song whilst playing guitar, not a bad voice at all!
Thom Yorkes stage presence will always over power Chris Martins, and Thom doesn't even try, When I watch Coldplay, I have to turn tele off, due to the fact Chris' actions are so off putting to his bands often very decent performance. I cannot explain why his stage antics are so performed and ungenuine, he seems to be trying to somebody he isn't.
I agree with ya mate - they get way too much praise and attention, considering they are imitations of the alternative rock style of Radiohead. They're not bad though.
there there: Just cause you feel it doesnt mean it's there, coldplay: Just because im hurting, doesnt mean im hurt, or something like that, and they also start the song with drums like that...
but Chris martin very often admits that they copy radiohead. so we should cut them some slack. but at the end of the day they are two very different bands.
getting inspiration from one of your favorite bands shouldn't necessarily be considered copied, they are both 2 very different bands and are respectable in their own manner
its going to be so weird seeing coldplay this summer. the first concert that i had been to was radiohead at seattle last year. they're both great but i know i will find radiohead were much much much better
''Such moments of truth can be poignant. The previous time I turned up to a filming of Later also happened to be the previous time that Radiohead were on, alongside Zwan, Billy Corgan's short-lived post-Smashing Pumpkins group. Radiohead opened with There There. After Thom Yorke steered the song to a marauding, magnificent conclusion, the cameras swung round to Corgan's band - all of whom appeared to be willing the ground to swallow them up.''

The association with cold play is as confusing as 6 music and radio 2 . World is big enough for both, but they are no way alike in any way

does coldplay try and copy everything radiohead does. watch them do Lost! live its like exactly the same as this with the guitarist playing the drums

there there: Just cause you feel it doesnt mean it's there, coldplay: Just because im hurting, doesnt mean im hurt, or something like that, and they also start the song with drums like that...
