I have a WRX and I love it, but lets be real, of course a V8 is going to kill a little turbocharged 4 cylinder on a straight line. But you put my car on dirt, snow or even just rain, i am going to kick ass. These cars are not straight line cars, that is why they put them in rally races.

If a stock sti lost 50% of its power it would get like 155hp to the wheels. in a 3300lbs car that would make it very slow. The STi is not meant for drag racing, but it does fairly well. The mustang is all about quarter mile. The fact that a stock sti can hang on a 1/4 mile with most mustang is impressive. However, come to a autocross track or anything with turns, no mustang could ever hang with the sti. Also can you go in the snow with any mustang? or how about gravel? dirt? No. The fact that the STi can do all these things, but yet it still gets disrespected by mustang fanboys just baffles my mind.

Once i'm a nurse next year i'll be leasing a wrx maybe wrx sti if the money is good, all due to the reasons you listed above. I own a 07 STI and a 06 Mustang GT. My STI has a down pipe CAI / Turbo exhaust. My Mustang is 100% stock. My stang will beat my STI in the 1/4. The STI gets the jump thats about it. There is no way that Mustang is supercharged.

@poikrazy the grille is definitely a giveaway but alx2409 had it right, the 04-05 headlights are quite different to the 06-07 ones, clearly illustrated in this video. The 04-05s are much rounder than the newer ones, which are known as hawkeyes. The larger hood scoop and red tail lights are also more giveaways.

@maxsoccer666 Mustang isnt "boosted" Sounds like a stock GT to me. Factory wheels, factory rubber, no distinct sound from the engine bay of a supercharger.....oh and the obvious he only beat the Sub by a car. A supercharged GT would walk more than that.

I understand your frustration...the comments go both ways though. Its amazing how many foreign cars say "supercharged mustang" if they barely win or get beat. My assumption came for the VERY stock looking exterior. his tires are factory perrellis which I had trouble getting traction with when I was bone stock. If he has a whipple it would make it even worse. If it were me I wouldnt even race anything till I had the proper tires. Would be a waste of HP. Ya know?

what MPH did you put a car on him? if it's 103 or so that would mean you are doing 12.5 or so in the 1/4.. nice times. The STIs are real quick even factory stock.
