I've been a Jeff Berlin fan since 1977, and heard of few

Alain Caron things on youtube, . . but Jeff basically ruined

anyone elses chance of me liking them a lot, like I do Jeff.

Alain is an amazing player, no question.

But Jeff's playing kicks ass. Period.

@SamHilland I don't consider it a competition. It's what excites me. Jeff has that "whatever you call it" that rings my bell I guess.

@GaryNull BTW, I've been a huge Alain Caron fan for years. I love the fact that he can play many styles. But I think, after hearing Jeff play, I think Jeff has better musical improvising ideas. And then I got hooked on a Joe Satriani lesson video, and was dumbfounded.

@SamHilland You have to listen to the first 3 Bill Bruford albums that Jeff plays on. That is Jeff at his best. I play bass and trying to play what he plays is next to impossible - I can get to 80 or 90 percent and getting that last 10 down separates his skills from everyone else.

Not bad for a Canadian EH!. Alain,I mean, Dr. Alain Caron , is definitely the real deal,great musician and composer/arranger. Imagine how much practice it took to get this good.
