Even though this fight is incredibly easy, and most groups can one-shot it with little trouble, that's no excuse for a poor video from tankspot. Anybody who has never done it before (for whatever reason) who watches this will have very little practical understanding of several key elements of the fight. First off, the viewpoint is really stupid. The most complicated part of the fight is the boarding party that has to go over to deal with the mage.

You never even see where the mage spawns in this video. Anybody that is going to be a part of the "away team" using this vid does not know where exactly they need to jump. You do not say anything about tanking the opposing general near the edge of the ship so that a healer doesn't have to go over - an important tip. You also don't mention his cleave, which can and will hit dps if they run too close as they retreat back to their own ship.

Finally, you don't talk about targeting the guns at the rocket launchers, giving priority to any who have managed to level up, which is crucial to winning the dps race. Furthermore, I don't believe you really mentioned that it's the rocket launchers who actually hurt your ship, which is sort of an important detail to know, so that people know it's still crucial to kill them, even though their attacks are avoidable.

It may be worth also adding that having your "away team" man the guns is a viable option if you need more people dealing with the enemy boarding parties or the riflemen/axe throwers. since the guns get frozen once the mage is up, you only lose a couple seconds worth of dps by having the melee away team use them, then going over, coming back, and getting in them again. This is actually the preferred strategy of most of the groups I've run this with, not sure why you use ranged.

WoW is and always has been a game for casuals. This isn't my opinion. That's basically what Blizzard has stated since the game's launch. Blizzard doesn't cater to casuals, they cater to their target audience. Hardcores are LUCKY they get any content AT ALL.

Besides, WoW's hardcore base couldn't add up to more than 3% of the total playerbase. Hardcores don't pay Blizzard any more money than casual players do. Blizzard, therefore, has no incentive to do ANYTHING for them. Hardcores are lucky they get any content AT ALL.

Actually it's a term a lot of people have been using for a very very long time... Even before Burning Crusade, since Blizzard had created a lot of patches that drastically changed classes (especially in PVP) so anyone who's been playing since the patch 1.7-1.9 or so (DM, Mara, ZG and AQ) would know the term.

It was DEFINITELY popular when BC came out.

Range dps without strong aoe should be standing on the side of their ship, shooting down the enemy rangers. If the tank that isn't part of the jump team starts having trouble with his adds, you can turn around and pick off some of them as well.

The enemy boss is not the top priority. Rather, you are just trying to destroy the opposing gunship. So you shouldn't really be focusing on the opposing ship captain, and instead be shooting the ship.

I'm gonna have to agree with Cogspinner. It's kind of disheartening to try and make heads or tails of visuals when the narrative doesn't match what is going on.

The reason tanks go to tankspot is so they can get an idea of what is in store for them. The fight was explained and most of us get the gist of it, but usually they have better videos. Heck Ciderhelm used to put on screen notations back in the day. Does he do these anymore? Hope he does again, his were much better.

Unlike the other tankspot vids we watched in the past, we didn't really get a feel for the overall encounter.

What would be helpful is putting up another one to explain that the onboard party tank needs to pick up the opposing faction leader, and tank near the edge ready for extraction while the dps team take the mage down. Its useful to also have a healer on your ship ready to help pick up the onboard party tank while their healer leaves to rejoin the inital grp.

"A mage will come out and freeze the guns, and a tank and melee group will have to jump to the other ship to fight him." But we're going to have all that happen off-camera. We're just going to focus on the deck of the Horde ship the whole fight. That's all. Just listen to the commentary. The video's pointless. This is likely the least useful guide video I've seen from Project Marmmot. Disappointing.
