  • what do they use the break shoe for? on the passenger cars

  • @The23113 Same thing as the frieght.. They have to slow down the train to stop

  • love the plant city horn awesome video

  • where exactly did he loose the brake shoe???...was it a car or an engine?

  • @CSX2665 It was like the 3rd coach car from the engine

  • @Millenniumforce oh but its hard to tell or see it happen

  • @CSX2665 That's because I was filming the train and the brakes flew off and almost hit my feet. I didn't know what it was at first.

  • Oops!

  • Great HQ video! What is the old Plant City station used for now?

(It would be awesome to buy an old train station and convert it to a house) I think the old Okeechobee station is for sale, but I live in Jacksonville.

  • @MrCzechers The old station is now a historic site.. It has a gift shop and a model train. It also has a board where you can see trains comming way before they get there.

  • @Millenniumforce Cool. I'll have to check it out next time Im back that way.

  • @MrCzechers It's not HD. :(

  • that noise is at all diamonds

  • @dairyman309 Yes you are right!!!

  • sounds like that part of the track is all messed up, you can hear it banking on the wheel sets. like there is a spaced gap.

  • @tehatemachine The sound is comming from te two tracks crossing each other..

  • @Millenniumforce It should be quiet though,

  • @tehatemachine Well theres 3 other places like this and they all sound the same

  • Another reason not to stand too close to the tracks. Good video, though.....

  • write this on the description next time please. It's way easier

  • @DaftStrings I am sorry but it is in the description when I go to edit it tells about the video.???

  • @Millenniumforce

He must be new to Youtube so don't let him get to ya.

  • @DaftStrings

You must be new to Youtube if you're not familiar with the description page on these videos.

  • i had P42 #42 on the sunset limited in 2005, Amtrak's Locomotives and Rolling Stock needs to be taken care of better.

  • would you report an incident like this?

  • @PinoyLabanFighter198 I did and they said its common. All trains lose brake shoes. Amtrak gets them checked after they make a one way run from Miami to New York which is a little over 1,000 miles.

  • @Millenniumforce Amtrak passenger cars use brake pads, since they have disk brakes. Locomotives and freight cars use the shoes that you are are showing, which FLY off when the brakes are applied.

  • Ha, now i bet that the train has to stop from a mile and a HALF to stop from losing a brake shoe.

  • @RobloxVideo25 Not really, The train has about 100 brake shoes on the whole train

  • at 0:31 HE?!??!?! HE?!?!?!??!! DOESN'T HE KNOW THAT MACHINES ARE CALLED GIRLS?!?! ITS SHE'S COMING RIGHT NOW NOT HE'S!!!!

  • @RobloxVideo25 LOL LOL LOL

  • @RobloxVideo25 Well then again the Titanic was an RMS, "Royal MALE Steamer"... Just sayin lol

  • wouldn't it have flown from the car? I didn't see anything in the air.

  • @DESO718 They fell off and tumbled to near where I was at while I was filming another part of the train. You could still feel the heat ome off of them..

  • I've found a few. But never seen one loose them.

  • @whatihave2do Me Neither!! That was the first time. You could feel the heat come off of them.

  • did u report the lost shoes?

  • @justmejie Yes, I Reported It To A Rail Worker. He Said That Happens All The Time And Won't Hurt The Train. When The Train Gets To Its Final Destination They Check everything.

  • NICE

  • nice detailed description of what happens

  • @rossy60103 Thanks

  • sweet video!! nice catch!

  • Nice catch..

  • @SuperStarRendon Actually If I catched it it would have burned my hand. LOL
