The blasphemy against the most High id revealed in Revelation 13:6! Not only did the beast change times and laws, the beast blasphemed His name, by changing YHWH to "LORD. At least 6828 times in the "Old Testament:" alone. Note that there was no "J" in any language during the time that the Messiah lived on earth, so "Jesus" is a false name of the Saviour.
@natzrim Just to clarify something...in old english, which is what the Bible was originally translated too, the J was use with a y sound. The why came into the alphabet later. The name Jesus, was actually pronounce in Greek (the language that the New Testament was written in) as YEHSOOS not GEEZUS. The Hebrew is YESHUA and the actually english translation of the name is JOSHUA.
@459triple3 That's not exactly correct dear friend. Transliterating names is the only correct and respectful way to convey a name, especially the Name of YHWH. The word "God" is really the name of a pagan deity and can be found in the Hebrew version of Isaiah 65:11; it's not "troop" that should be there, but God. What do you think about: Rev. 16:9, Mal. 3:16-18; Jer. chp. 23, and Psalms 113, just to list a very few Scriptures that show the importance of His Name? Thanks for your comment.
@natzrim Actually, it's perfectly correct. You said that Jesus is a false name of the Messiah because there was no "J" in any language when the Messiah was here. What I was pointing out is that that is a weak argument. At the tower of Babel, God confounded the languages. At the time that the New Testament was translated, old English was in effect and they did have a "J". The point was the sound of "j" was what today is the sound of the letter "Y". The pronunciation is YEHSOOS not JEEZUS.
@459triple3 Actually the 1611 Authorized King James Version did not have a "J" in it. Read about the name of the Savior in Strong's G2424 which says "Of Hebrew origin [H3091]". This Hebrew Messiah had a Hebrew name not a Greek, Latin, or English name. His Name is prophecied in Zec. 6:11-12 and it's the Hebrew name Yahushua. His Name never was or will be "Jesus" or "Yehsoos". Thanks for the comment, I hope you have learned the truth about the Name of the Messiah. Shalom
TRASHING the 4th commandment/Saturday sabbath (MEMORIAL OF CREATION) is the most obvious religious con job/deception on EARTH. Just compare how 99% of the church use ACTS 20:7 and never teach about ACTS 13:42-44, 16:13, 17:2 and 18:4. If PAUL trashed the sabbath, why didn't he warn all of the gentiles in ACTS to stop hanging around the Jews and come worship with him on the SUNday/Lord's day. Anti-evolutionists shoot their creation campaign in the foot by deleting the weekly creation reminder.
I live by Grace. I am on my way to heaven - because God has made me a new creation. I worship him every day of the week. I am no longer a victim of the LAW - because I could not keep it. That is why Jesus died. I am saved by Grace. I can choose to remember God every day of the week or no day. Jesus said "IT IS FINISHED" - you know, Paul said, people like you seventh day people LACK faith!! Because of the way you cling on to the law. LACK faith. Amazing. Godbless.
You misunderstand what grace is. Grace is pardon for sin. You think grace is license to sin. Sin is breaking the law (1 Jn 3:4). Paul writes that we do not make the law void through faith but establish it (Ro 3:31). Jesus died so that we are forgiven and given power to overcome sin (breaking the law). You want to say you have Jesus while still committing sin. 1 Jn 2:4 says if you say you know him but don't keep his commandments you are a liar. In what is your faith? Mine is in the Word of God.
My faith's in Jesus giving power to ppl to overcome sin. He told the woman caught in adultery to go and sin no more. Read Luke 10:25-28. Jesus told the lawyer to do what is in the law and he will have life. Love is the fulfilling of the law.You love God with the first four commands and man with the last six. I have great faith that God gives power to defeat sin through the blood of Jesus. You hope God closes His eyes while you sin claiming grace. That's not faith, that's delusional.
@459triple3 jesus told the yung ruler have you followed the comandmants? there you go there you have one to think about, there are many many more for you if needed.
@mystic81006 Actually, Jesus said to the rich young ruler, "Thou knowest the commandments" and began to quote some. He didn't ask him anything. Go and cross reference that with Matthew 19:16-22. Come back and let me know what you find.
@459triple3 Yes, you are right, this was not my point , my whole point was he did say it, he said you have to follow the comadments to enter into heaven. this was my only point to make at that time. god bless
but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Paul writes, "I had not known sin, but by the law (Ro 7:7)." The law doesn't save you. It tells you when you've of sinned. When the law shows you your sin, you go to Jesus. He forgives and cleanses us from sin. He then gives us power to overcome sin (breaking the law). Acting in self, we can't keep the law. Jesus gives power to do so. Grace giving lisence to sin is a doctrine of devils. Christ forgiving and giving power to overcome sin is the gospel of Jesus Christ that Paul write about.
Some men keep certain days holy, others keep other days holy. We are not under law but under GRACE! If you want to keep the sabbath as Satruday - then go ahead. But there is no obligation!!! NONE. We are made holy by Jesus and his sacrifice - so every day is holy - when we live in his grace and power. All week long - so we honour him on Satuday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday - every day we honour him - because we live for him. GRACE BROTHERS AND SISTERS. GRACE.
you are speaking concerning that which you have known to be true. When you mention the "new sabbath" where is this new covenant spoken of in scripture?
Lastly... you say that you can't imagine bringing back the Sabbath as Saturday, the 7th day, it was never done away with... but I encourage you... it takes time to develop new habits... and keeping the Sabbath holy will take time to get used to if you have never done so. Be Blessed
Could you please show from the Bible where Sunday is called the new sabbath under the new covenant? Did Jesus institute it at the last supper? Did any of the the disciples or apostles have it as such? I would like to see where God commands His people to observe this new sabbath.
People who keep the Sabbath as Saturday - do they feel they are BETTER christians for doing so? NO! We are saved by Grace. The Sabbath was made for man not man for the sabbath. If you read about the resurrection of Christ - "On the FIRST day ofthe week AFTER the Sabbath...." THIS was the day when they discovered JESUS had risen!! Henceforth, we meet together on the FIRST day ofthe week - to remember this new creation. BUT if you WANT to keep Saturday - well, how far do you take it?
Here's the thing. We are saved by grace but are we saved to continue in sin (1 John 3:4)? The resurrection of Christ did not create a new sabbath. Jesus solidified the will of God at His death. Just like a last will and testament, it cannot change after the person dies. The will would have to be changed before. Did Christ make this change in the will of God? No. After He rose? No. The disciples? No. Did Noah change the plans fot the ark? I think not. W/out Jesus' command, why do it?
OK so keep the Sabbath as Saturday. How you going to keep it? NO WORK. Remember how Jesus healed a man on the sabbath and how the pharisees told him off. Sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath. When Jesus died he said "It is Finished" - the curtain of the temple tore in two. So keep the Sabbath if you want - but there is no obligation. You need to read Pauls words in the new testament. We are FREE! Praise God. FREE! What the Law could not do - GRACE did it all.
Yes. Praise the Lord we are free. However, we are not set free so that we may continue in sin. He died to save us from our sin, not in our sin. Sin is the breaking of the law. The law shows us our sin and that we need a savior. With Jesus, we receive forgiveness for our sin and power to "Go, and sin no more." Sabbath breaking is sin. Jesus didn't break the sabbath by healing. Never saw Him in the wood shop on sabbath did you? No. Pharisees' rules made it a burden. Not God. It's a joy in Jesus
The first day of the week is the christians sabbath - Jesus rose again from the dead, a new covenant - greater than the old was made. By concerning yourself with Saturday as the Sabbath you are missing the point - as christians EVERY DAY is our sabbath, we live holy lives EVERY day by Gods Grace and power. But we meet together as christians on the first day of the week as the apostles did. We are made complete in Christ - we live holy every day.
Read Act 13:42-44. You will see that both Jew and Gentile went to church on the sabbath. When the Gentiles approached Paul, he did not tell them, "Oh, you don't have to wait until next sabbath, just come tomorrow." Why. Because there was no change. The old covenant was instituded at Sinai and ratified with the blood of an ox. The new covenant was by Christ blood. Any change would have been done before His death. When did this Sunday sabbath start? It can't be part of the new covenant.
The next point is, everyday is not a sabbath. The sabbath is kept holy by doing no work (Heb 4:10) and spending the day getting closer to God. The word "holy", in and of itself, simply means different. The sabbath is different from every other day. If you keep everyday as you keep the sabbath, you are not holy but lazy. God expects us to work every other day of the week. The apostles never kept Sunday holy. See how many times you see 1st day of the week used in the new testament.
When you look at how many times 1st day of the week is used in the new testament, the fact that it is never used to speak of a new sabbath should tell you something. To say that living holy everyday somehow changes God's command is shaky at best. Do you believe that Daniel lived like a devil 6 days a week and only lived holy on sabbath? How about Samuel or Jeremiah or Moses or Abraham? They all lived sinful lives until sabbath because they lived before Christ as manifest? Think about it.
Also, Jesus gave communion as a memorial of His death. Paul said baptism memorializes His death, burial and resurrection. These are symbols you will find in scripture to celebrate the sacrifice of Christ. There is no call for a new sabbath. 2 Cor 16:2 does not mention church or saint coming together while the sabbath is a holy convocation (gathering). Grace is forgiveness for sin. Paul says, "What then, shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? God forbid."
1 John 3:4 says sin is the trangression of the law. If we continue to sin after we have received grace, the Bible says that we crucify the Lord afresh. Continuing to lie, or commit adultery or steal or break the sabbath claiming that Jesus gave us license to do so by His death is not grace. It is complete disgrace. He died because the law cannot be changed or done away with. If Christ death abolished the law, what are any of us guilty of. Can't be sin if breaking the law is sin. Think about it.
In John 20:19, the apostles were together on the 1st day of the week for fear of the Jews. Some had not yet even believed that Christ had risen so they were not meeting in honor of the resurrection. In Acts 20:7, they were together to break bread. The Bible shows that the day begins at evening and not at midnight. Verse 8 says many lamps. It was Saturday night. They were together all day for the sabbath. When the sun went down, the 1st day began. Act 2:46 says they broke bread daily.
Luke 4:16 says Jesus' custom (practice) was to go into the synagogue (church) on the sabbath. Acts 17:2 says that Pauls custom (practice) was the same. In the new testament, Paul nor any other apostle nor any of the believers held Sunday as sacred. They all kept the sabbath. Look up Sunday in the encyclopedia and you will find that the church did not practice this until 321 A.D. after the order of Emperor Constantine. Paul and the other apostles were long dead. Sunday is not the sabbath.
Hey, if you want to keep Saturday then keep it. But I know that I am saved by Gods Grace. Made Holy - every day of the week, including Saturday - by his spirit dwelling in me. I meet at church on Sunday - it is one of Gods days and we are not bound. We are free.
This is the last I will give you because I have given you enough from the Bible to leave you without excuse. A person continuing to commit idolatry, murder, blasphemy of God's name, lying, serving other gods, stealing and coveting will not say that they will continue and be saved by God's grace. The Sabbath command is no different. Luke 6:46 says, "Why call ye me Lord, Lord and do not the things that I say?" We are called out of darkness and into obedience, not into continued sin.
Your faith is lacking. Your intention is good. But you need to read Hebrews and what Paul says. I am not bound, by the law. I love God, I belong to Jesus. I live a holy life to please God - but I am saved by GRACE. Jesus paid it all. And I love Jesus and serve him forever - because of his Amazing Grace!
Odd that you would tell me to read Hebrews when I told you to read Hebrews 4:10. As a matter of fact, read the entire 4th chapter of Hebrews while you're at it. I just don't understand your argument. You are saying that a person can continue to commit sin and still get to heaven without overcoming their sin because Jesus died so that they can continue to sin. You say you get this from Paul?!!! The man wrote Romans chapter 6. My faith is in God's Word not some strange doctrine.
You are proud, you think you can ADD on to what has been done already through Jesus. By keeping the sabbath, by keeping rituals and days you are behaving as the Pharisees did. They too were so proud of their works and their keeping or special days and times. The Only way to heaven is through Jesus christ. We obey him because the Love of God constrains us. But nothing we can do, can add to, or make us BETTER christians.
You think that I am adding to what God has done by obeying a command that He gave to all men (Mk 2:27). That is nonsensical. Keeping the Sabbath doesn't save anyone. I never said that it could. However, disobedience to God isn't what Christ died to give lisence to. We are to walk in newness of life, not the same disobedience.
If you read the Bible, you'd see that Sunday sacredness is the add on since you don't find the practice anywhere in scripture. You won't even find a hint of it. The people of God never regarded the Venerable Day of the Sun ( a pagan ritual where pagans gave honor to the sun god Apollo).
@JMMCL16, Let me just ask this question of you my beloved, how on earth is he adding on, when it is the pure and unadultreated word of God.!? God and Christ said they change not, what part of that sentence don't you people get? Take the blinders off, you have been deceived by the doctrines of satan. Follow the word/Christ, and not the traditions of men and the commandments of men, but rather remember, that Christ said there would be false prophets and Christians, and teachers and the like.Shalom
In serving Jesus you will follow his commandments, because you know its right by the Word of God. By the power of the holy spirit you will feel bad when you do sin, because you know not what you do. - The 10 commandments on the LAW of God, for us to follow. 1 John 3 vs 3-7 this explains that God Law is important - and who doesnt follow it commits sin, there is no sin in Jesus and anyone who keeps on sinning doesnt know him. When we do what right others will know !
Read hebrews chaper four. The law paul was talking about is the law that was written in a book, written by the hand of moses. It was called the book of law it contained ceremonial sabbaths meat and drink offerings ect. Blotting out the handwriting of orinances that was against us, which was contrary to us and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross. Colo 2:14 Jesus forefilled the book of law. But the moral law still stands. If thou wilt enter into life keep the commandments. Rev 19:17.
@JMMCL16, It would seem to me that(459triple3) got it right, and you my beloved is delusional at best, no pun intended. And it would also accure to me that you follow the doctrine of Paul rather then the word of Christ! In Isaiah it clearly says, that if they are not teaching according to this doctrine/ word) of God, then it's because there is no light in them. You people want to say that this is the 7th day Adv doctrine, but it's the word of God.
Acts 17:30 says God winked in the time of ignorance, but now calls all men to repentance. Once you have the truth by the Word of God, in what do you place your faith outside of the Word of God? If someone is placing their faith in what the Bible says, there is no fault against them. But if you are placing your faith in something not found in scripture, you are taking a serious risk. God forgives sin, not sinning. One is past, the other is ongoing. Ongoing sin is done by sinners not ppl of God.
The ppl during the time before the flood probably had their reasons for not obeying. The ppl who disobey God always have a reason or excuse for doing so. The Bible says that if we sin after we see the light, there is no more sacrifice for sin. Jesus says, If you love me, keep my commandments. He obeyed the Father completely. James 2:10 says If you keep the whole law and offend in one point, you are guilty of all. One sin is all it take to separate us from eternal life. Why chance this.
Jesus' sacrifice was sufficient for the sin of the whole world. His power is sufficient to help us overcome sin. He didn't and won't create some secret way for ppl who want to continue in sin to get into heaven. If ppl choose to hold onto only one sin, when God destroys sin, they will go with it. Life or death. Heaven or hell. These choices come in acts of obedience or disobedience. Where will you stand? Will you yell by your actions, "Crucify Him" or will you say Lord remember me? Your choice.
@JMMCL16 My dearly beloved, it sounds like to me that Paul is a tare amongst the wheat. Because if Christ didn't say it, and His Father didn't say it, then it must not be so.! But as for me and my house, we will obey and serve the true and living God and His Son the Christ. And not the traditions of men and the commandments of men. You need to study the book of Matthew, the sermon on the Mount, Shalom.
I can't imagine bringing back Saturday as the Sabbath. I know what the preacher is saying - but, Sunday is cherished as the day Jesus rose from the dead. What would Jesus say about this? I'm not sure.

JMMCL16 2 years ago

1 Follow in Jesus footsteps.

459triple3 2 years ago

I'm not sure.

what do you mean?...you sound or should I say, you're being very sincere from the heart! Are you convicted by God's Spirit in regards to this truth?
