Atlus doesn't get the love they should. their games a great. They always have some character you fall in love with and care about or even relate to. Not like alot of square enix newer games. Honestley Square is on no equal footing with Atlus. Every Shin Menagami Tensei game I have played, I end up with an emotional attachment towards. Final fantasy just really can't make characters like that. Now I will say that Kingdom hearts is the best Square game out. But it's still not at persona level yet..

P4 made improvements on the gameplay and character control and it proves an interesting plot line, but what really turned me off while playing the game was...persona designs. When I think SMT franchise, i think if personas/demons that are funny looking in a gothic looking kind of way, therefore you take them seriously. In P4, I was instantly turned off by the slaptick parody designs of the personas( Kill Bill, Keropi), I felt as if the art that draws you in was lost in translation somewhere.

Heh well not sure about how it worked on the other Personas, but understand this one the Personas have certain inspiration on the characters' likings for example Chie with Bruce lee, hence Tomoe's outfit, Kanji with the skeleton like persona that has ressemblance with his shirt, Naoto with a male Persona dressed as a detective, and come on, Izanagi looks JUST like the main character does (Aka Souji)

I've beaten Persona 4 and fell absolutely in love with it. As far as stories go, i haven't seen something this refreshing in a while, and length, oh GOD, to actually have a game that takes TIME to beat. Started playing Persona 3 and there are a few things about it that I definitely saw they improved in P4, like the fact that you can't control the other characters in your party, that's just stupid.

Y'know, I just noticed that Naoto does Megidola and get's a cut-in (which IIRC, you can only get if your persona scores a critical or hits a weakness). But Megidola does almighty damage, so noones weak against it, and it's a spell, so it can't critical anyone.

We talked about this exact same thing in our podcasts when we got our first review in of Persona 4. It seems that at first, people will be inclined to impose typical RPG stereotype on each of the characters (i.e. your childhood friend, the silent girl type, the tomboy, etc)... but then as the characters "develop" (without spoiling it too much) they begin to transcend their stereotypes and become something more. Honestly, I'm quite amazed at the kinds of things they talk about in this game.
