  • How can we win the global war on weather?

  • if you believe in god you want the end of the world to happen. Tell me the sin isnt trying to save your brother

  • it's too late, we live in a technologically addicted society, world wide. all these gadgets use energy, we need all the gadgets (not really but that is the nature of addiction) so we will continue to burn things (and breathe) until we find out if CO2 is really insulating some of the radiation from the sun... the hard way. i think we should learn more about this thing before we start forcing people to ride BMXs to werk and remebering how to ride horses (or 'population controlling' them)

  • How can I get into the global warming scam, anyone?

  • Very beautiful logical case. BUT why dont people also use this logic for BELIEVING IN THE CREATOR as the MOST ACCEPTABLE RISK???

  • @orion1979z Because believing in gods "a little" doesn't get you anywhere. It's either you believe or you don't. Your argument, having nothing to do with this vid btw, doesn't work here. Earth fails=we all fail, belief in god=personal decision that affects only you. Your belief in a god/my being an atheist doesn't affect each other in the slightest, unless you insist upon it to make others miserable. I read a chapter in 'Unweaving the Rainbow' yesterday. Did your blood pressure go up?

  • @HoneyNVinegar

    you wanna bet?

So why is it do you think, that whenever people are in a plane and the plane makes strange noises or starts to 'fall' everyone starts to pray to God?

    Even the atheist?

  • @orion1979z Saying 'oh god' is the equivalent of 'oh shit' nowadays. The atheist doesn't pray. Sorry. Not even in the most dire of moments.

  • Well it seems this I want to be Al Gore vid is old news..Every time they have a summit on the subject ,IT SNOWS,and we have not burned up yet,but I am still waiting..

  • @CommonRaven I agree with you.

  • You fail to mention that NASA scientists have also observed that the polar ice caps on Mars as well as some of Jupiter and Saturn's moons that have ice caps also are 'shrinking' also. Can I therefore extrapolate that extraterrestrial living beings inhabit those bodies?

  • the reason mayan calender ended is obvious, run out of ink, we must all follow after people who sacrificed humans!

  • @nomoepo uh, WE sacrifice humans, it's called war

  • @peacemonger1006 of course, how could I forget---well that makes it OK

  • Well if you watch news from outside the establishment media, you would know the Al Gore is getting folded up, along with all these idiot "scientists". This is a non-issue compaired to our dollar colapsing. Let's concentrate on the Steak, and not the peas!!!!!!

  • STOP focusing on things like climate change, which are ideas created by government to distract us, separate us, and keep us living in a state of fear and confusion so they can continue to herd us in the direction they wish...With our heads in the sand and our hearts on hold...Give the climate change up, it doesn't matter, what matters is unity, peace, and love. Not to mention the fact he's full of shit, by the same logic I should cut my dick off to avoid getting aids

  • "The most terrifying video you'll ever see" WAS ABSOLUTLY GREAT (The one that you talk about the concecuences about tankin' action or not). You're totally right and people should start to take action now (I talk to my self to :D).

    Thank you for posting :)

  • Good video.

  • Global warming is believed only by uninformed people. The earth has actually cooling to a great degree. I know that God does have a since of humor, and that He will probably show man how stupid we are by creating a mini ice age!

  • don,t send me anymore vids i love god global wraming=fake end of world(aka 2012=FAKE) 2012 is just so nerds living at their moms house at age 40 END OF STORY.

  • God has nothing to do with. its only a book. we decide not THEM.

  • lol, i hope everyone ignores the threats of global warming so everyone dies.

    :D

  • Science says you should fuck yourself nerd

  • Scientific data shows the earth cooling

    over the last 10 years.

  • in the bible, Revelations 21 verse 1 pretty much predicted this before there were ever thoughts of global warming and what it could do. You can reason with God. We could prevent it only if everyone were on God's side. But that's not going to happen is it? There will be a bunch of "I told you so's" and a bunch of atheist saying "Oh My God"!

  • Revelations 21 V 1: "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea."

I fail to see what that has to do with global warming.

  • yeah man.....

    I agree.....

Its not on what the people will know on what will happen....

It's on God to know what will happen and it says so in the Bible....

Thanks for sharing that bro.... :)

  • @Pinage

other than the earths' oceans evaporating out of teh atmosphere?

  • That's not how global warming works.

  • i dont care if the world ends. So my action is to sit on my fat ass

  • geeks

  • Im a humanities student and we studied global warming this year and i think your book would be helpful to next years class, so im going to send this to my teacher. good job!

  • On one hand, this whole video is basically a variant of Pascal's Wager.

On the other, it fails to take account of the fact that 1 or 2% of the population stand to make huge profit in the short term through inaction. When those very few people have their fingers on the global political pulse, I seriously doubt whether good science and good intentions will make much difference

  • This guy is a Government disinformationist. Tell me. WHAT can we do if Global warming is true? Where is all the money going to for the proposed carbon tax? If it's global warming, btw the Earth has been warming since the end of the last ice age....How the HELL is money from taxing us to death going to solve the problem? Global warming is a fear monger hoax perpetrated by the NWO to further enslave you. IT'S A LIE, people! WAKE UP!

  • Not that there's much point in engaging with someone who uses the term "Government disinformationist" (what the does that even mean?), but carbon taxes, cap and trade schemes, etc. are not being pushed for by serious environmentalists, who realize that they are just ploys to keep on letting corporations do whatever they want while placating anxious liberals.

Global warming isn't a hoax, government's insistence it's taking action is. Fight the real enemy: greedy corporations that rule us all.

  • so all you who say global warming is a hoax, or this is failed logic....what do you propose be done. Do we just continue using up resources, increasing populations, and allowing ourselves to kill off other species for the comfort of out own? If global warming is real or not, if we continue living the way we do, we won't be able to sustain ourselves much longer.

  • look, just because i dont think AGW is real doesnt mean im in favour of mass pollution.....there are plenty of LEGITIMATE reasons to not pollute and conserve resources

  • Another deliberate presentation of mis-information, half-truths, lies, misrepresentation of facts, manipulated text, selective memory, and orchestrated deception. For those who enjoy the being insulted by the product of a calculating manipulative liar, this be great video to add to your collection.

  • Check out this graph:

    live search this:

Is Global Warming on the Wane?

    How Solar Goes Polar

    found on farmers almanac page.

mean temp. increase over last centry:

    about 1 deg

  • ok guys yeah its a great video, but he is the weirdest fuckin dude i've ever seen lol

  • This is an example of flawed logic...

  • They took action on sulfur. Now they want to put it back. Your error is in believing we can control climate. You're forgetting the sun, our orbit around it, the distance we are from it and the tilt of the earth on its axis. It's not our CO2 emissions.

  • u totaly make sence dude

  • when do we start?!

  • Logic and the mass? Do you think until more happens the mass will hear us?

    Streak

  • meh, not bad

  • Do you think NAS and AAAS care about their reputation years in the future vs. BILLIONS in gov't grants today that will go to them and their sister organizations? Sorry wonderingmind your theory is biased sham.

  • I agree with kidwave1. Video is not identifying what the action versus little or no action is. AND the political issues such as - we think that gov't money (our taxes paid) will be spent wisely by these politicians in an effort to ease pollution etc. However in reality 20 years later it will surface that the money really went to some politicians bank account instead of to combat pollution. OR like the use of grains for fuel additive inefficiantly costing more in energy to produce scam.

  • why should averting "GW" cause a global depression. If anything, it will take us out of one `~'

    Think millions of jobs...

  • By your very own drawing your logic is FLAWED! Your presentation is nothing more than misleading bollocks! In the "false/yes" box of your graph you take the time to make sure and mention that the cost will lead to global depression type symptoms. But, then when you go to "true/yes" box of your graph you decided to just casually OMIT all the things you just said about the cost effecting a global depression as though the cost suddenly would not cause the very same symptoms. You are a dumbass!

  • It is amazing how some people can look at a simple step-by-step explaination of scientific uncertainty and risk management and still be stuck on the idea that global warming is a hoax. But I guess we have to keep trying, this is a good series of vids.

  • r u stillllllll talkin...........u cock

  • I don't think we can change nature. However, I do believe we can survive global warming or even another ice age. I just wish politicians would stop lying to us. They will exploit any disaster for their own benefit - look at Katrina, etc.

  • Global warming hysteria is misleading. It is a purely natural cycle (remember ice ages?) caused by the Earth's wobble. Compare the wobble to the tilt of the Earth's axis that gives us the 4 seasons. This 'precession's or Plato's 'great year' cycle is about 26 thousand years. This video is total nonsense.

  • So no action whatsoever should be taken? In this video, wonderingmind doesn't specify what particular action we should take. If precession is the cause and we couldn't survive this natural calamity, shouldn't we be looking into some way of preparing for that inevitability, as far as we continue to breed that is, otherwise we are knowingly sending our descendants into a disaster without warning. Or should we simply live for the now and to hell with our offspring?

  • I dont know If global warming is true or not, and I can't spend my whole life looking for that answer.

I guess prevent is better than holding on, that's for sure.

Economy can be restored easily than weather.

I've already seen the evidence against this, but everything is so relative.

  • Not sure what you are suggesting the world should do here...should we drive less poluting cars...no, because they cause more in production than older cars do in use. Should we switch off out mobile phone chargers...not going to make any difference.

The solution may just be America; stop trying to take over the world and stop creating war, that would be a damned good first step.

How are we supposed to take this seriously while globalisation is going on?

    Nice video btw

  • Excellent Work.

I bet you are a Great Teacher.

    *Bright Blessings*

    Linda

  • should be more plans than just a and b

but hey thats just my mind speaking

  • Great work. I'm a believer. I'll do whatever I CAN do, but it will take millions of us working in concert to effect any real change. I don't know how people can scorn this, oh wait! It might cost them some money, right? Well, spend it now, it's worth less every day.

  • Very well done video. Congratulations! Global Climate Change is as certain today as it was yesterday, last year, and a century ago. Did man do it, yes, as everything affects everything, can man significantly change it, probably not. Can nature change it, most assuredly, and nature will change it. What's the cost? Many human lives, much global reorientation, and a new direction, just as in previous civilizations. So, folks

don't fret, be prudent and live a happy and loving life.

  • Actually, in m honest opinion, we shouldn't take action at all. it may sound crazy at first in your opinions, or in a possible few years such as, well, the mind guy said, 7-10 years. All this reproduction state will set us off at a pure future if we stop raising taxes, gas prices, and global pollution to prevent the global warming which effects, shown in the video, wars, economical breakdowns, etc.... All this is very confusing to first, but you have to THINK before taking part against action.

  • IF man made climate change is true than we apparently have 8 - 10 years to prevent the worst from happening. Keep in mind that if humanity stopped all carbon and methane producting today then it would still take 7 years before the climate started getting better, purely because that's how long it takes these gases to reach the upper atmosphere.

  • man made global warming is fake... there will be a global cooling very soon...

  • But even if we take action... is there anything that could ACTUALLY be done? Even if we go so far and so great as to rid of pollution, would it stop? Are we too far in or is it bound to happen? Maybe this is suppose to happen, we adapt! I guess I look at it too much as a "keep the human species alive" than the "let's keep the government and society alive". But isn't the way our world run already fucked up? Maybe it needs a complete change! I don't know, i need advice. PLease reply.

  • Well, i agree if we DO take action, where would we start. And if we do start in the middle, the ends will be crashing down on us, our goverments will be weakened which effects scientist in teir study. Our world IS f'd up as you said. The human specias and everything you said was an honest opinion and a good one indeed. Some of these ignorant people need to think and stop taking ACTION without THINKING. the 9/11, political faults/war events/ threats etc... All related as well, we do need change..

  • is it just me but have you made the same video 4 times

  • I will consider this man's brilliant argument, after Al Gore does his part and cuts back to my level of consumption. Until then I'll just watch AG's energy usage, bank account, and waistline grow enormously, evidencing that he and his GW movement are monumental frauds.

  • If we wait for each other to cut back, we will have wasted our only chance to stop this. So, forget about Al Gore and do your best. DO YOUR BEST, regardless of anybody else. The world needs you...

  • i second bobmaks statement ,, it's true, fukkers , wake up sheeple

  • The worst that could happen? Let's see... Considering that OTHER planets in our solar system have had similar increases in heat, it would be safe to assume that an SUV and people in general are NOT causing this. Easy way to fix it without making the masses poor? Make the elitists who are the ones saying "This needs to be fixed" use their own money to fix the problems they bring to our attention. That 10% has more money than all of us combined and are the ones who bring it up in the first place.

  • who do you about other planets.who do you know they dint have life before us. you spectics just want quit. first 1934 was the hottest year now mars not good enough. by the way from 1900 to 1940 had the hottest tmpature ever recorded..

  • Again. If it is really so important then let those elitists with more money than God who are so super smart and all important do the smart important thing with their own money.

  • Given the uncertainties - it would be best to invest in real science and not shrill-bots screaming bloody murder in the streets.

  • The bureaucrats believe that their new world order will come out of the chaos. As long as the Illuminati are allowed to maintain control we will be screwed!

  • the only global warming will be a thermo nuclear one exploding over your head caused by our mindless leaders fighting over the earths last drop of hydrocarbons.

  • Nice presentation, but not very scientific for a scientist. Global temperatures up 0.7 C this century. Sea level 8 inches this century. Federal debt - doubled in 8 years. Which is the more immediate threat? Google Video: "Five Ways to Save the World" and you'll see the anti-warming programs they're talking about costing in the hundreds of billions. And ok, Mr. Scientist, how much do you plan on making on GW? And I DOUBLE-DOG-DARE YOU not to delete this message.

  • Have you heard of something called "the exponential function?"

  • I love these videos. I recently climbed out of skepticism into the realization that climate destabilization is a real (and terrifying) thing. I'm not fond of alarmists who simply cry "The sky is falling!", but prefer people who give the science behind the falling of the sky, and I think your videos do just that! Great work!

  • I'm involved in solar cell development and I'm telling you, we're not far from producing solar power that is just as cheap as coal fired power. Mind you it is ALREADY a LOT cheaper than nuclear power and has been for quite some time. So. What would be the wise choice?

  • @freakshow1997

Take all transportation of gasolin and ask yourself if solar power can power the entire car/shipping-park in the world.

    No, you need fusion/Th-power

  • Great video, I want to thank you for doing the tremendous amount of work that it took to research and create these videos. One of the best examples of citizen action I've ever seen.

    I'll be spreading the word....

  • These arguments only seem to hold true if there is an equal chance that both outcomes will happen. If the probability is skewed in any fashion toward one outcome or the other then the conclusion of one side's weighted badness over the other side's is off as well...probably un-mearsurable as well as useless... ?

  • Not useless at all. Did you watch the whole thing?

It has nothing to do with equal probability. You can still work with that quite nicely using a simple tool called expected value.

See the followup video How It All Ends: Risk Management on his account. It explains it better than I can.

  • I'm going to have to make a video response before everyone shirks their individual responsibility and hastens the end of the globe by dumping trillions of dollars into an unnecessary avoidance-avoidance decision.

  • It's not a matter of production vs. consumption. The question isn't whether or not we produce energy, it's whether or not we continue to rely on carbon-emitting power -- which is a factor of consumption, not production.

If you'd watched the expansion pack of videos, you'd see he's arguing for exactly the same thing that you are.

    Begin here: youtube com/watch?v=2oCYW4ScUnw

  • Right. So consumers are going to make alternative energy by changing their habits. Rich. We don't have enough alt en to supply everyone, so mobilization of producers is the societal goal.

You can't make the alt en production market favorable by using an irrelevant matrix with incorrect payoffs.

Alt en is not a choice between recession and global destruction. And if he is speaking only to consumers where are his utility values.

  • You are a fan aren't you. That Video of Naomi Orinsky? was informative.

We also have to plan for the worsening situation, revised building codes and setbacks from the Ocean?

I am also concerned about the significant lack of knowledge in so many related fields ("Insufficient data"), because where we don't know we assume the best case.

  • This guy made this videos because he claims no one has found a fundamental flaw. Here's one: Whether or not we produce energy is a question for PRODUCERS. Unfortunately his matrix is populated with payoff values for a CONSUMER.

    Oops.

The only responsible action is to change our consumption behavior. Reducing fossil fuel consumption and using the savings to purchase alt en is the gift that keeps on giving.

    All these vids for nothing.

  • Where did I put the keys to my Excursion? HOGWASH!

  • Care to elaborate, or are you just going to dismiss it out of hand and go back to putting your head in the sand?

Dismissals like this without evidence or reason to back them up are not convincing anyone.

  • every time you say can you be wrong is a false assumption, you say it in saying that people that don't believe in GW they could be wrong. Yes but no more wrong as people that do believe in global warming.

by the way the more prestigious s society is doesn't make them more right history has proven the genius and being right isn't always the same thing.

  • There are ways of statistically determining how confident your conclusions should be.

The methods applied to climate science indicate a very high degree of confidence, such that the IPCC used "very likely" (90%-99%) in their conclusions.

Have you been as rigorous and have as much evidence to be that confident in your statement?

Oh, and a prestigous science society has a vested interest in never saying anything incorrect. If they say it, they're pretty damn sure of it.

  • youtube dot com/watch?v=XDI2NVTYRXU&feature=related

thats all I need to back myself up.

    CASE CLOSED.

  • This is that confirmation bias I was talking about. I'd read some of those scientists' statements already during my research.

The problem is stopping there because they support you. Did you ever question who these scientists were?

For instance, Tim Ball hasn't published a peer-reviewed climate paper in over a decade and inflates his credentials (he was in a recent legal case over that)? And at least half of the scientists "debating" there (note the lack of rebuttal) are part of CATO?

  • No stopping there because arguing on youtube gets you nowhere.

  • Doesn't that imply that using YouTube as your only resource is a problem?

That's why I suggested looking at the scientists -- specifically, the scientific organizations and the peer-reviewed journals. (Peer review exists to stop weak and unfounded research from being published, while organizations have a vested interest in never making incorrect or unfounded statements).

And if you look there, on what I might remind you is a scientific issue, the result's pretty telling.

  • I actually have lots of other stuff built up in my emails, but I saw that related video after this video was finished so I watched it, it supported my point, so I posted it, I did not feel like going back and finding more reliable information.

  • History will repeat itself and the climate will change and there is nothing we can do about it. Volcanic eruptions release more CO2 than all cars combined ever.

30 years ago scientist said we were going into another ice age and everybody was so "Certain" it would happen, they were obviously wrong because they completely forgot about it.

  • LOL, comparing exhausts from cars to volcanoes doesn't prove any points. What happens when you add the cars AND the volcanoes is what matters.

  • Wow, are you completely ignorant? Notice how I said "All cars ever" meaning that if we stopped driving now, just a volcanic eruption which is likely to happen again sometime, would make all our efforts useless. Plus many volcanoes are constantly erupting such as those in Hawaii.

CO2 isn't doing shit to us and if we stop driving cars and remove all power plants which is what some would like, we wouldn't be doing shit.

  • During the past 50 years, the sum of solar and volcanic forcings would likely have produced cooling. Observed patterns of warming and their changes are simulated only by models that include anthropogenic forcings.

    -- IPCC

  • I don't care what the charts say, all I know is that CO2 released by volcanoes far outmatches what cars and factories today produce. Lets face it, global warming is a fad and eventually you will all forget about it after you notice how much bullshit it was.

  • You don't care what the most respected climate science organization says about a climate science issue? Do you read tea leaves instead?

  • No actually I don't care what they say, because I don't like listening to bullshit.

Prove that global warming is caused by man, and that we can stop it, then I will believe it.

  • The fact that Volcanoes account for 0.15 Gig tons of carbon a year and human activity accounts for 6 to 7 Giga Tons a year pretty much makes your claim invalid. Doesn't it?

  • If you say it's a fact then provide proof of it. I didn't provide one for what I said, because I have nothing to back that up. It's just believable.

All I'm saying is the earth has changed temperature many times and will continue till it's very end. Need I provide proof that it has before? I think thats a generally accepted fact.

  • Google "royal Society" and "climate Change controversies" Then look at misleading argument #1.

The Royal Society is among the most well respected scientific institutions in the world. They have been around for 347 years and boast almost 200 Nobel Laureates.

  • They are a bunch of liberal cunts. Thanks for providing an argument but I still don't believe what they said simply because they're boast awards and are well respected.

Another thing I have heard on the poles melting argument is that only the north pole is growing, while the south pole is growing

  • I have offered you evidence directly refuting your claim from one of the most well respected scientific organizations in the world and you choose not to believe it. I wonder if your claim is falsifiable. That means is there anything or anyone that can get you to change your mind. If not your view is analogous to a conspiracy theory.

  • I'm not inclined to believe something simply because it was presented by a well respected organization. Something could change my mind, it just wouldn't be easy, I just have a gut feeling that the Royal Society is wrong.

  • Hmmmm, who should I believe?

The Royal Society and their proof? Or gohoggyourself's gut feeling?

Tough one. Must think about that.

  • Royal society has provided evidence, not proof. If you do your research, you will see that most scientist are not believing we are causing global warming, you will see that it is only a select few, you only don't hear about the others because end of the world caused by humans, makes a better news story than, it's not our fault.

  • Re: Most Scientists. Again, outright fabrication. The Oreskes result still holds from before unless you can counter it.

Re: Not caused by humans. Another comforting lie. No explanation that doesn't include CO2 shows the observed warming, and we know modern CO2 spikes are from fossil fules (isotope analysis).

Re: Evidence, not proof: News flash: Science CANNOT prove anything! It can only provide and analyze evidence!

  • Apparently you have only read about your side of the story, I have seen both sides.

Don't respond until you go find the other side of the story, discredit if you like but do it.

Fossil fuels emit CO2 but water vapor is the main greenhouse gas in our atmosphere.

History has shown us that the earth heats up and cools down. Quit your doomsday thinking and go do something productive.

  • I've read both sides, too.

Water vapor is the main greenhouse gas, yes. However, it's in its own equilibrium. We add more in, it promptly rains out instead of sticking in the air. This is not the case with CO2 -- which we add to the air from underground reserves instead of the active cycle and which sticks around in the cycle for ages.

Furthermore, multiple independent lines of research all conclude that the current changes are not within normal variability.

  • there are just as many agencies that say global warming is our fault as there are that say it isn't, all my opinions are based on what I have read, and so are yours, you and I have not performed the experiment so you can shut the fuck up, you act like you know for a fact that global warming is taking place and it is OUR fault, which we do NOT know, we just have graphs that approve and disprove each side of the story.

  • The key question is WHICH agencies say it's our fault and which ones don't.

You'll find think tanks on either side (Environmental Defense Fund, Competitive Eneterprise Institute, etc). They're obviously biased and therefore shouldn't be weighted strongly.

Meanwhile, NO national or international scientific organization rejects the IPCC claim that it is very likely that humans are causing the observed warming. Examining the peer-reviewed scientific journals shows a similar trend.

  • Incidentally, this is already covered in later Wonderingmind42 videos, which are far less preachy than this one.

I'd suggest Why There Is Still Debate (watch?v=vpVWFIWZMjk), which builds off of the much longer Risk Management and Nature of Science videos, which also address your other concerns (about uncertainty and scientific knowledge).

Also, I will never tell you to shut up because we disagree; I would appreciate the same courtesy.

  • How about evidence from the Pentagon. The pentagon says that Global warming from human causes should be elevated above a scientific debate to a national security issue. The Pentagon is certainly not a Liberal organization.

  • LOL!the pentagon will say whatever spin doctors tell it to say.A lack of action on our part, and this whole scenario turns out to be true,it will be the end of civization and possibly humankind. The pentagon is a flea compared to power of the planet or nature.Save the planet screw the companies who ignore the planet or the warning signs.

  • As to your "liberal Cunts" argument they are by far the stodgiest of the major scientific organizations (That would mean Conservative. Show me proof, from a peer reviewed article that shows the Poles are growing. I have articles from major peer reviewed journals that says they are shrinking. Do You?

  • Forget science and manipulated data. This planet is BILLONS of years old. To assume that man is causing global warming is the single most arrogant positon I've ever heard. If we are to blame it on CO2 you have go back to the Industrial Reveloution which was 300 years ago. You're telling me that man is able to alter the temp of a billions year old earth in 300 years. WOW man must be alot like GOD, able to manipulate the climate of the entire world.

  • If you think that this is firmly outside the realm of man, and firmly inside the realm of God, please see the short video How It All Ends: God's Will.

The key question is, if all the evidence we have *does* point to 6.6 billion humans' collective contributions being enough to alter the planet, will you still say it's arrogant to think we can?

  • YES!!!!Mt. Pinatubo erupted in 1991 spewing 30 million tons of sulfur dioxide when mixed with the humidity of the oncoming typhoon became sulphuric acid (acid rain)! This single event triggered an ozone depletion that could actually be photographed by NASA. The plume of gas took one year and covered the entire earth. Yeah man is still arogrant to think it can do damage the earth what mother nature did in ONE DAY!

  • A single huge eruption (such as Pinatubo) is naturally a spectacular event.

However, not every year goes by with a giant eruption. For instance, according to NASA, volcanic activity accounts for about 0.15 gigatons of CO2 *per year*, although an individual eruption spikes it, the dormant period cancels it out. That same source cits human emissions as 6 gigatons per year. Other sources are in that ballpark.

If anything, what happened in one day should illustrate how FRAGILE climate is.

  • Here's what I do know, two scientist from the IFCC (another bogus organization) decided to see the polar ice caps for themselves. On their way the temperature reached aprox -50 their guide began to get frostbite on his feet so they had to turn back. THATS FUNNY!!

  • gristmill()grist()org/skeptics put it better than I can:

"The chaotic nature of weather means that no conclusion about climate can ever be drawn from a single data point, hot or cold. The temperature of one place at one time is just weather, and says nothing about climate, much less climate change, much less global climate change."

You're changing the subject, too. Rebut my arguments, or back down.

  • Earth has not known a creature like us.Actually it has in the past but weve always nearly destroyed ourselves.I say risk economic depression(and thats the worst scenario if we act now),and help nurture our world back to health.

  • I'm not going by what the scientist say, I'm going by what history says. Every thousand or so years the climate has changed, and that is a fact. 30 years ago scientist were saying we were going into another ice age, everybody believed them, then they forgot completely about it.

Did you know a volcanic eruption releases more CO2 than all the cars combined ever?
