Why do the greatest bands have to be SO under-rated and so under-appreciated? Simple: the Industrial "Music" SHITSTEM is ruled by PERVERT PSICHOPATICS who only want sell ROTTEN UGLY SHIT FAKES such as Madonna and Gaga and they want made us all a bunch of billions of MOROMS with NO sense of good taste for so good things and REAL TALENTED ARTISTS such as Concrete Blonde, Public Image, Bolshoi, Alphaville, Irene Cara, Sinead O'Connor, Kim Carnes, Sandra, Laura Branigan, Randy Bush, Suzi Quatro...
Hell yeah! Me too! The film was a Jack McCoy/Billabong one from '92 called The Green Iguana. Actually, I lost it years ago and only got it off Ebay a couple of months ago. Vanilla Chainsaws, Celibate Rifles... happy days ;)
Thats the one(dont forget Ed Couper as well)Billabong always did the best vids. Pump has a bit of Concrete Blonde as well, God is a Bullet for sure but i think there were more.
do you know my first experience of female punk wAS you.i love you and i have introduced my daughter to the fold. thank you because you grabbed me from shit that could have been. my daughter loves you though, god bless
Johnette Napolitano --- the Best, Unique and Most Gifted Singer Ever. I love her! And she is soooo cute... her skin is sooo soft... I love her joy, her hair, her face. Her face changes always better. Chameleon. Angel. DELICIOUS! Johnette is a MIRACLE, pure magic! I never heard a song so soft, light, positive, as "paradise is home". That's heaven!
Absolutely the BEst EVER!!! Love it! They were in about three Billabong movies in the late 80's / early 90's and have been my favorite ever since! Thanks for posting!
". . .it's 3 am and I'm out walking again. He doesn't give a fuck. .he's living under a truck. It could have been me, just my luck. ." This woman could rock in Concrete Blonde. And, having just turned 50, she's still at it solo. One of the best voices in music. A lot of beautiful work came from those early CB albums.
"Still in Hollywood", "True", and "Your Haunted Head" are my favorite Concrete Blonde songs, but they all are great. I think all these songs were on "The Hidden" soundtrack, a sci-fi thriller. One of my favorite bands of the 80's, and their debut CD was the best. Thanks for posting! and yes, Johnette does rock! What a voice. Only other female vocalist I can compare her to is Chrissie Hynde.
Johnette is still rockin' amazing as ever!!!! She has a new album out (well, new last spring), "Scarred"... she toured last spring/summer... I had the privelege to see her twice... ABSOLUTELY ****ing AMAZING.... seeing her perform live is truly a life-changing event.... SHE IS THE BEST!!!!!
Awesome!...never seen this video or heard this version...sounds like it predates the version I have (SIH comp) Seen CB a number of times over 20 years or so...and Johnette just this summer...still as on fire as ever!
UNDRKNOWN is right!i felt that waywhen i 1st heard it in 86.STILL now underrated.why is it great stuff like this doesnt get the attention it deserves?sleazy music business i gues not what but who you know shit.
wow this song catched me thanx top a video of skateboarding(sorry cant remember the label) Ive beeen hearing it since then back in 93 or 94..super melodic hardcore punk!!!
This song with others by them is in the Hidden, and is funny as hell. This song rules and is way underknown.
She has pipes, too. She screams fantastic. The production on this is totally up to snuff. i predict this song will be famous 100 years from now, maybe even more than their boring contemporaries the RHCP.
The funny thing about this is I dont live in Hollywood, and I feel the same about my town....HAHA.
This version is a hell of a lot longer than the one on their best by the same name. I don't think it has quite the frantic energy of the other (probably later) version.
Does anyone Know what Johnettes up to these days. Her website ( the CB site )was not active last I looked. Think i read somewhere that she has/had some kind of gallery in L.A.
Great song! I remember this song for the 80s flick The Hidden.
