i believe he meant the Sga episode "The game" where Mckay and Sheppard were influencing 2 opposite countries in a planet by playing what they thought was a game. Sheldon said it was "loosely" based on Athens and Sparta. The one country was building an army like Sparta and the other was developping scientifically like athens.
I'm from Greece... that's my favorite Sheldon's line cause it contains Athens, Sparta and Stargate in one sentence!
This is why i don't watch this show. People love it around me, like it's the next best thing after sliced bread, i don't see the appeal, a bunch virgins and geeks doing stupid shit, and there's a token hot girl next door.
@rageagaintstheNWO What "virgins" and geeks? One guy used to bang the token hot girl next door. The other guy was banging the cute friend of the hot girl next door. The other guy couldn't talk to women sober but was a pimp when drunk, and happened to bang a hot girl, during a Halloween party over at the hot girl's next door.
I don't remember if Sheldon ever got any, but still that's 3 out of 4 who are not virgins so suck it.
Damn it. My fanboyness of Stargate forces me to complain about this show referencing an episode of SG-1 where there was no actual fighting or tactical implementation.
However, I can forgive it, because the normal side of me want to beat the shit out of the geeky fanyboy in me.
A fine balance, is what goes on in my head. A fine balance.
@applepie231 Eh. I'd say about half tactical, more dumb luck and spur of the moment ideas. Let's be honest, after they blew up a sun, did you really see much "tactic" in the retreating phase of Stargate?
So its "Broca Divide" b/c "Brief Candle" didn't have a firefight. Yay! except "Broca Divide" was Minoan culture. Not Athens/Sparta...and "Brief Candle" wasn't at all Sparta either... >.< they should get their references right.
i think this is the episode where carter wears a tank top. the one where the planet is half dark and half in sunshine. the inhabitants were attacking them and sg1 with sg3 had to run out of the forest
It's Brief Candle, but there was never any fighting in that episode, so I have no idea why Sheldon would mention it. Unless the writers were just making a Stargate episode up, which is completely possible.
@42nerdsunited No it's not.... it's about the episode with the Minoic culture, with the primitive people in the woods, They use a comando team there, with night vision goggles... that makes more sense. Minoic is Cretan, which is Greek...
How do you remember your username?

Big Bang theory is hit and miss. It's a show which suffers from too many writers.

You're dad should have made a 'tactical retreat'.
Tritwop 3 months ago
A tactical retreat could honestly describe most stargate episodes

Didn't the team make a "tactical retreat" and abandon Jack on the planet to avoid getting old like him?
TheChuchulainn 4 months ago
He didn't say he was referencing any fighting in the episode he just asked if they had seen it but either way this is still epic!

@rudifrank100 I'm guessing they just made it up, a generic mythology/gun battle episode that didn't actually happen.

@01000001011100100111 maybe Sheldon's plan is to build a field where the people in their age quickly and fall asleep as the sun sets. :D
