Once saved always saved is not a lie. What's a LIE is the self interpretation of what SAVED means. One is saved when Jesus Christ comes inside with power, fire, truth, Spirit and literally makes a person into Himself in mind and Spirit, burning up the old in the Fire, creating the New in the Spirit and Living Water AKA heaven within bursting out from within. THAT is saved, GOD revealed to a person, people call themselves born again without really being born again, that's the lie.
@JesusgavemeHolySpiri Yes. That's all true. But ... I've seen people get there and still turn away. I don't know if it was turned over to satan to teach them not to blaspheme or if they will ever come back. I watched their light get blown out. And in some cases, that light was mighty. I KNOW there is a place where He tells you that you are His and you WILL be with HIm - a place where HE says you are "saved". And it's WAAAAAAAY more than joinging a "church" and saying a sinner's prayer.
The same FIRE that burns all my thoughts? Like literally flows in my brain and chest and heart condemning with grace each though and attitude rebuking me with any unholy inclination until that thought / inclination is burned up then moving on to the next faulty thought?
@JesusGaveMeNewSoul Yes, all of that. But the biggest difference is the LOVE. The love of Christ for the brethren and for the lost just flows out of you. It makes you a servant and crushes pride and overlooks differences and mercy flows like a river.
@fotm1 Amen. As for me, I was led to ask for heaven giving Christ 40 days of solitude making my room a desert 12 years ago, fasting, reading literally asking for heaven to clothe me because I wanted to die reading 7 pages a day. I got to day 26 still doing this with no pleasure at all from the world in terms of stimuli - work, home, read, bow for hour or more waiting to be given, woke up day 27 engulfed, I mean flying. 12 years, hundreds of dreams, many visions later, HE has reduced me
@fotm1 He has reduced me down to almost nothing in terms of my thoughts, sin, etc, just destroying the flesh in me, thank God for Jesus, I was loveless man, now I love through Him, He gave me His eyes, mind, hands & crushes me still, the more I let Him crush me the more the power flows, literally all over my mind there is a oil flowing, pushing out thoughts, God is incredibly supernatural to me as far as being literally within, more real than electricity, very source of Love itself given
Well just to be safe when I baptize someone going to say I now baptize you in the name of the father, name of the son, the name of the holy spirit and in the name of jesus chrust our lord and savior.
woops...I just heard a little better, I heard the video again and you know what? I think you were right. Ι was reminded this verse :
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. (John 14:23)
I believe you were talking about this verse all the time, weren't you?
It's about the Father himself coming and dwelling inside you. Wow! Every time I remember this verse it is just..! !Αwe!
@mc01301 Yep. We are three part beings. He is a three part being. All three parts of US need to be inhabited by all three part of HIM! People are stopping before the goal line!
@wordword31 This is TOTALLY WRONG. If John the Baptist meant that it was a BAD thing, then why do we see the Apostles get the fire? This is absolutely the wrong way to connect the dots. He infers that fire is always bad, but God says that HE is a refining fire - so you're rejecting God. There are plenty of verses of the refiner's fire - and it's always meant medicinally & for our good. The Baptism of Fire is absolutely about purifying, not destruction. That's what we see in Acts 2.
@fotm1 I humbly accept your reprove and appreciate that general clarification, but it seems that the Baptism of fire is bad news for sinners and sin and gr8 news for the coheirs. We are trained to look at many "bad" things as "wonderful," ie death and many other things deemed bad by the fools. Thx for responding. U know your stuff.
@wordword31 The scripture says that the Wheat will be gathered up BUT he will burn the Chaff off with unquenchable fire. If you know about farming Chaff is something that grows ON Wheat not something that grows separate from it. We know the Wheat is the Christians, but the Chaff being burned can't be Sinners b/c Chaff grows on Wheat. If what you're saying is right that means Sinner's grow on Christians? Scripturally correct: Tares are Sinners, Wheat is Christians, and Chaff is Sin on Christians.
@wordword31 Unlike Chaff which grows ON Wheat, Tares grow separate from Wheat. Jesus(Farmer) baptizes us(Wheat) with Fire into the name of the Father to burn off the Chaff(Sin,Self, etc.). However, in the parable of the Wheat and Tares, two different things that grow together, Jesus will have the angels burn up the Tares(sinners) and gather the Wheat(Christians) into his barn.
Also brother. I personally believe the Baptism of the Holy Ghost comes at the same time as the Baptism of Fire. I do recognize they are two different things, though. Though I do understand almost no Christians practice the baptism of fire by having God burn their self out of their soul. But I do believe those who have received the Holy Ghost at least have the initial reception of the Fire. Just like some people have received the Holy Ghost but never practice being continually filled with it. ??
@OneFaithAndOneAccord I'm not sure we could back that up scripturally. I understand your point, that the elements necessary for the fire come when you get the Holy Spirit baptism, but you could just as easily say that they come when you first decide in your mind to follow Christ before you even take the first step down the aisle or speak it out loud. But some will never get there. Many will fall away. Even the elect can be deceived.
@fotm1 Could you show some scripture please? I don't care if you prove me wrong I just want the truth lol. The reason I believe the initial reception is at the same time is b/c it says he will baptize you with the Holy Ghost AND Fire and there never seems to be a separation in scripture. Also it says his fan is in his hand and he blows the fire. Wind is the same as the Spirit and the wind is the thing blowing the fire unto us from the fan in his hand. Do you believe you have to receive the H.G.?
@OneFaithAndOneAccord The only time that we see them getting the Holy Ghost AND the fire at the same time is in the upper room in Acts 2. A thing is determined by two witnesses. There is no other witness of anyone getting the spirit and fire at the same time. I think the evidence of the Fire is holiness, selflessness, sacrifice, love, peace, gentleness, etc. I think Corinth got the Spirit but not the Fire. They were tongue-speaking selfish fleshy stinkers. The Fire is less obvious than tongues.
@fotm1 Yeah I understand. But the in the case of what I said earlier: Just because you received the Spirit doesn't mean you're going to be crazy Spirit filled with the Holy Spirit pouring out of you. I believe the same for the Fire, just because you received it's entrance doesn't mean you're going to be incredibly holy. I understand you can be Spirit-filled and not Fire-filled, but I do believe the initial reception is at the same time. Do you believe you have to receive the H.G. to be saved?
@OneFaithAndOneAccord I don't see the reception of the Holy Ghost as a one-time thing. It's a dial, not an on/off switch. If Peter had got hit by a bus the DAY BEFORE Pentecost, would he have gone to heaven? He acknowledged Jesus as Lord, had faith, even got the Holy Spirit in John 20:28 BEFORE Pentecost. I think he would have been fine. It's not for me to judge. I don't think u can get to HOLINESS w/out having a great big cup full of the Holy Spirit, but it may not be the whizbang some expect.
@fotm1 I've always believed it's a dial. I believe actually "receiving it" is a on/off switch, but I believe actually using the Holy Ghost is a "dial". I believe you have to use it, not just initially receive it. I also believe you can't get to true holiness without it either. It doesn't say they received it, Jesus gave it but they did not yet receive it until 10 days later. Receiving and falling is the same Acts 8:15-17, it's interchangeable.
@OneFaithAndOneAccord The Holy Spirit is described as a wind or a breath, & John 20 says that Jesus BREATHED ON THEM & said, "Receive the Holy Spirit." It doesn't say He was going to breathe on them later. I think SOMETHING happened right on the spot. The Upper Room is NOT the first time they ever had any of the Holy Spirit in them. They were healing & casting out demons, making good decisions about replacing Judas and other stuff that PROVES they had SOME. And they get filled AGAIN in Acts 4.
Hey, brother Doug. I agree with you alot on this. Do you believe receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost(w/ the evidence of speaking in new tongues) is necessary for salvation? I personally don't believe there is a actual point of receiving salvation. I think there's alot to it. Repentance, Baptism in water, receiving the Holy Ghost, and deliverance from sin that prohibit you from entering the kingdom of God. What do you think about this?
@OneFaithAndOneAccord I do not acknowledge speaking in tongues as proof of salvation. For the first six months after I was filled with the Holy Spirit, my only prayer language was SCREAMING and travail - and I had lots of charismatics think I was nuts and even refuse to acknowledge my baptism because it wasn't a language. But I wouldn't trade it for anything, it works better than any tongue I've got since. You're saved when GOD says you're saved.
@fotm1 I personally don't believe tongues is the evidence itself. I believe the "sound" of the Spirit is. It could be groaning for all I know. I say tongues because it's the most common. But I believe it has to be something the Holy Ghost is actually having you do with the mouth, not just "feelings". I've seen a brother who received the Holy Ghost at baptism with water and yelling "Ahhh wuhhh!"(I used bad lettering to sound like his moaning, lol) because of the Holy Ghost.
@JaymarkRadio Do we worship one God or three? If we are baptized into that one God - Father, Son & Holy Spirit - then it's ONE baptism. One process with three parts. One goal with three steps along the way.
How do you answer the folks whopoint out that "baptizo" in Matthew 28:19 is a PLURAL form? That is, multiple baptisms. Some in the past (& currently) dunk people in water 3 times at baptism because of this. I think it makes more sense that it means three baptisms - Water, Spirit & Fire.
@fotm1 Awesome answer! I thought maybe that's how it was. You're making a lot of sense on a lot of stuff. Thanks, bro. Wow, that PLURAL word in Matthew has me excited. Koolio! May the peace of Christ be with you. P.S. Sent you a FB message the other day. not sure if you got to it yet. thx.
@fotm1 Hey, I'd like to say that Matthew 28:19 is in the "name" (which is singular) of the One God. No in three names or three gods. "Name" simply means His "authority", "power", "character" that Christ came and made manifest. There is no 3 part formula. There is no contradiction. For in Christ dwelt the fullness of the Godhead. I believe this is why Peter baptized in Jesus' name
Doug I'd like your opinion on something, I'd like to share my view on the "3 baptisms"; I see it like this: the baptism of water is for the repentant. the baptism of fire is for the unrepentant, being the fire of hell. the baptism of holy spirit is for those who have received the first baptism, and is related to the receiving of the glorified body. That is to say, when you're transformed from flesh to spirit, that is your "holy spirit baptism". What do you think? God bless.
@Dadutta I don't think that's what John the Baptist meant in Luke 3:16 at all. We see the disciples in the upper room baptized "w/ the Holy Spirit & tongues of fire." Two things, not one. No evidence that the others that started speaking in tongues saw the fire the same way. I understand about the lake of fire - in the sense that the fire is to burn off the self in us that needs to die, I get it. But I don't think you can just dismiss Luke 3:16 so easily and turn what is meant for good to evil.
@fotm1 thanks for swift response! If I were to respond again, I'd say the tongues of fire refer to simply tongues of fire, not being directly related to the fire-baptism. By the way, are you a universalist? No accusation, just asking. God bless.
I was told by God the Holy Spirit to create this channel for the coming spiritual revival. I was told to issue the call to unite and praise/worship God on an online service igniting a spiritual revival that has never seen before. I was told to push for water baptism, Holy Spirit baptism, and Fire baptism. I was given powers to show that this is all from God. But people still do not listen. Check out my channel and read everything including the vision and prophecy on the comment section.
I personally have no problem with baptism in the name of the father son and holy spirit or in the nme of Jesus. Heck just to satifsy everyone baptize in the name of the father son, the holy spirit and in the name of Jesus.
I have never had a water baptism but asked the lord for the holy spirit and thought i felt the fire. I would like to get a water baptism but when i do, if the church doesn't do it the way you say, should i ask for the cleansing of my spirit with the fire in my head? I'm not really sure how to go about this?
Interesting. One says "body and soul" and the other "body and spirit". The Matthew verse does not say that the spirit can be killed/destroyed - it is the eternal part.
You're into deep stuff now - like what EXACTLY is the difference between soul and spirit.
When it says "body and soul" it's in reference to sending it to hell. I believe our spirit was severed or numbed or something after the Fall. Although we were designed to be three part beings, we are trapped as two parts. It's only through the Holy Spirit of God that our own spirit comes alive again. So someone whose body and soul were sent to hell wouldn't have had a spirit awakened/restored anyway. See? I think the James verse affirms that we were dead (body) until our SPIRIT is made alive!
Mark 16 These Signs (MIRACLES) Shall Follow BELIEVERS (NOT SOME, SO ALL Is Implied?)
IN MY NAME, They Shall SPEAK >(Laleo To Speak, Sing, Pray, Laugh Cry or Groan) WITH *NEW >(Unused, *NEW Kind) TONGUES! >(Glossa-Language NOT Naturally Acquired)
In John 6, Jesus says, His WORDS are Spirit and Full of Zoe Life! In The New Birth We are BORN AGAIN by the SEED (Spora G4701) FROM (Sperma G4687) Of The WORD of God! 1 Peter 1:23; James 1:21; John 3:3-8)
NEW Tongues are Also used as a PRAYER LANGUAGE to God! 1 Cor 14:2,4He that SPEAKS (Laleo-means to Speak, Sing,Pray, Laugh Cry,or Groan) in an Unknown Tongue Speaks NOT unto MEN,but UNTO GOD: for No man Understands him;howbeit in the Spirit he Speaks Mysteries(Divine Counsels of God) And EDIFIES (Teaches and ENERGIZES) Himself!
1 Cor 14:5 I would that You All Spoke with Tongues!
1 Cor 14:18 I thank my God, I Speak with Tongues More Than You ALL!
1 Cor12:30 Have all the GIFTS (CHARISMA G5486) of Healing? Do All Speak with Tongues? YES, Jesus and Paul both Teach that All Believers Can Receive a NEW Worship and Prayer Language! Mark16:17; 1 Cor 14:2-4; 14:5; 14:18
1 Cor 12:28-31 Is Teaching of CHARISMA GIFTS Manifested In The Church and not The GIFT (Dorea) of the Holy Spirit!
Each time the Word Gift is used in 1 Cor 12 it is the Greek Word Charisma and means Special Endowments!
In the Book of Acts, The GIFT(DOREA G1431) of the Holy Spirit is Given ONLY Two times, AFTER Receiving the Word, And, BEFORE their Baptism in Water! (Acts 9:17-18; 10:44-48)
In Contrast, The Gift (DOREA G1431) of the Holy Spirit is Given Four times, AFTER Receiving the Word, And, their Baptism in Water!(Acts 2:1-4; 2:38-39; 8:5-24; 19:1-7) Notice the CONTRAST, in the Time, between RECEIVING The WORD, WATER Baptism and, THEN, Receiving the GIFT(DOREA G1431) of the Spirit?
All liars, fornicators and adulteress... This is referring to all those who remain UNREPENTANT and die in that state who have NOT repented! It is NOT referring to those born again who struggle in these areas!
I perceive that Paul's Teaching in 1 Cor 3 for Babes and Carnal Believers, then, 1 Cor 6 and Gal 5 etc., must be for Spiritual Believers; To whom much is given much is Required?
In the Scriptures I quoted we have the two extremes of Justice that will be used by the Judge of All Mankind Messiah Jesus at the Judgment Seat of Christ?
2 Corinthians 5:11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men..
I have taught this for years with the Foundational Principles of the Doctrines of Christ; Eternal Judgment. Hebrews 6:1-2.
1 Corinthians 3:11-18 If any man's work abide which he hath built upon, he shall receive a reward.
If any man's work shall be burned, HE SHALL SUFFER LOSS:but HE HIMSELF SHALL BE SAVED (Greek- SOZO- Also,is Used in other Scriptures As- healed, delivered, rescued, mended, made whole!)
Saved (Sozo) is the same word Used in Romans 10," Whosoever Calls on the Name of the Lord Will Be Saved?"
1 Cor 3:1-23 For no other foundation can man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by FIRE and the FIRE shall try every man's work?
Romans 14 Why do you criticize and pass judgment on your brother? Why do you look down upon or despise your brother?
For we shall all stand before the Judgment Seat of God. And so each of us shall give an account of himself to God.
Then, let us no more criticize and blame and pass judgment on one another, but rather decide and endeavor never to put a stumbling block or an obstacle or a hindrance in the way of a brother. Romans 14
(Part 1) One can NOT say that Jesus is there Lord and then deny it with there actions GRANTED! But Christ did NOT say salvation is a process otherwise those Christians on the day of Pentecost would NOT have had a certainty of the position within the body of Christ (salvation).
(Part 2) Salvation comes but Christs imputed righteousness NOTHING MORE OR NOTHING LESS! The Apostles said we tell you there things so that YOU MAY KNOW THAT YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. Christ said further that HE WHO BELIEVES AND IS BAPTIZED WILL BE SAVED! (IT IS NOT OF WORKS LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST!)
(Part 3) Christ did NOT say that if you behave I will save you! Listen to what you are saying here! That if one does NOT grow himself/herself up to certain point (works) he is NOT truly saved. Christ did NOT say that nor did he say beg and pled with me and when I decide it is genuine I will save you!. NO! Christ said depart from me because they trusted in the means of what they were doing (works) to save them rather than the finished work of Christ's sacrifice ALONE!
(Part 4) Yes development and growth God wants but is something only he can make happen and is an out growth of a relationship with God that begins only after one is born again which is the act of salvation itself!. Even if man forgets God is faithful, even though we may be faithless or unfaithful: He cannot deny Himself. (2 Tim 2:3) SALVATION IS NOT A PROCESS! IF IT WAS CHRIST WOULD HAVE SAID SO! AND HE DID NOT!
I NEVER said that you grow yourself up. Only HE can make you more like Him.
It's clear that maturity in Christ is not a completed work. It's clear that we are to GROW UP into Him who is the head. HE does that IN us, not we ourselves. Why do you and I have to go around and around all the time?
I have some issues with this. 1. If baptism with fire keeps a believer from sin, how did Peter get caught up in the Jew/Gentile hypocrisy in Antioch? 2. Jesus is the one who will say "I never knew you," not the Father. (Matthew 7:21-23) 3. There's not any explicit message or warning about this in any NT writing as one would expect if it's so vital. 4. You said in a previous video that God told you water baptism using the Trinity model was okay, but to do it in Jesus' name to freak people out.
1. Correct, it does NOT keep them from ever sinning & I have seen people who blew out their fire & got turned over to total blackness. Not a guarantee.
2. Yep. Sorry.
3. I think they didn't understand at Pentecost that they got the Spirit AND the Fire. I think it IS there, if you look.
4. If you want to water baptize people in the name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit, fine. I just think that they kind of missed the point of the other two baptisms.
Is it possible that what you call baptism with fire is a work of the Holy Spirit to produce good fruit/holiness/usefulness to the kingdom? John the Baptist in Luke 3 seems to refer to judgment based on the imagery of wheat and chaff/unquenchable fire. Compare with Jesus' parable of wheat and tares (Matthew 13:24-30), as both mention gathering wheat into His barn. John's baptism of fire evokes hell and judgment, whereas what you and others have experienced looks like immediate sanctification.
Our God is alternately referred to as a "Consuming Fire" AND as a "Refining Fire"! He is both the refiner who sits and watches the silver until He can see His reflection in it - and the unquenchable fire that burns up the chaff.
Don't get me wrong, I totally agree with that. I'm just wondering if the fire referred to by John the Baptist is referring to judgment or refinement. Could it be one for the condemned and another for the justified? There's also the fact that he's referring to Jesus as the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit and with fire, rather than the Father.
@JonW81-Don't forget that it is Jesus introducing us to the Father & Jesus introducing to the Holy Spirit....So though it does say Jesus shall baptize us with the Holy Spirit and fire....I believe the fire only comes as a result of being in the NAME i.e. character & authority of Jesus AND this is how I believe we are introduced to the FIRE BAPTISM not because Jesus is the author behind it but rather it is in His image that the FATHER starts to deal with us.....HIMSELF.....
@JonW81-I was also just discussing Acts 4:12 earlier & I am totally convinced that this is not dealing with a "spelling" at all for salvation. Many focus on the water baptism as a doctrine for this...I am totally convinced that this is specifically dealing with SALVATION in respect to the standard of the FATHER!
The Father's standard is Jesus' character & authority! Jesus' name NOT spelling...but CHARACTER & AUTHORITY...this is where we are rescued....YHWH have mercy on us.......
Funny thing is, the chaff is part of the wheat, until it gets the snot beaten out of it and then gets blown away. This looks to me to be a symbol of the sanctification. The tares go into the unquenchable fire.
Very Good video. Also since the Corinth Church were fornicators and carnal were they truly Christ Church or saved? If David died while he was commuting the murder would he or Christians who has a heat like David gone to hell in that moment if they died? I apologize for so many questions at once, but I hope it help me and others who read the comments.
Very informative video. Water Baptism has to be accompanied by someone. Do the other baptisms require someone else? If so then we need someone to continue to give the fire and water baptism to us through prayer correct? Also, do people who are sprinkle baptized, or baptized in the wrong name need to get baptized again? Is it wrong for people to get water baptized more than one in their life?
I've seen it both ways. Sometimes someone is there to help, sometimes Jesus lays hands on them Himself.
As for rebaptism, they just need to listen to the Lord and He will lead. I can't make a rule about that.
Multiple baptisms - again, you need to listen to the Lord. Personally I was baptized at six years old, but again at 14 when I understood better and rededicated my life to the Lord.
In the Spirit we need to constantly be dunked in His Spirit (and the Fire).
Awesome! This was totally unknown to me.Praise God for using uncompromising brothers like u to spread such a important topic! I've been baptized in the holy spirit, but not in water, I've prayed and praying to God the father, to lead me to it, his will, he knows how and where I should do it, just like he knows everything else, right? :D
But a question about what you mentioned about being around with gentiles. We Christians are supposed to be around and befriend with gentiles/non-believers?
Once saved always saved is not a lie. What's a LIE is the self interpretation of what SAVED means. One is saved when Jesus Christ comes inside with power, fire, truth, Spirit and literally makes a person into Himself in mind and Spirit, burning up the old in the Fire, creating the New in the Spirit and Living Water AKA heaven within bursting out from within.
OneFaithAndOneAccord 6 months ago
@OneFaithAndOneAccord The only time that we see them getting the Holy Ghost AND the fire at the same time is in the upper room in Acts 2. A thing is determined by two witnesses. There is no other witness of anyone getting the spirit and fire at the same time. I think the evidence of the Fire is holiness, selflessness, sacrifice, love, peace, gentleness, etc. I think Corinth got the Spirit but not the Fire. They were tongue-speaking selfish fleshy stinkers. The Fire is less obvious than tongues.
fotm1 6 months ago
@fotm1 Yeah I understand. But the in the case of what I said earlier: Just because you received the Spirit doesn't mean you're going to be crazy Spirit filled with the Holy Spirit pouring out of you. I believe the same for the Fire, just because you received it's entrance doesn't mean you're going to be incredibly holy. I understand you can be Spirit-filled and not Fire-filled, but I do believe the initial reception is at the same time. Do you believe you have to receive the H.G. to be saved?
OneFaithAndOneAccord 6 months ago
@OneFaithAndOneAccord I don't see the reception of the Holy Ghost as a one-time thing. It's a dial, not an on/off switch. If Peter had got hit by a bus the DAY BEFORE Pentecost, would he have gone to heaven? He acknowledged Jesus as Lord, had faith, even got the Holy Spirit in John 20:28 BEFORE Pentecost. I think he would have been fine. It's not for me to judge. I don't think u can get to HOLINESS w/out having a great big cup full of the Holy Spirit, but it may not be the whizbang some expect.
fotm1 6 months ago
@fotm1 I've always believed it's a dial. I believe actually "receiving it" is a on/off switch, but I believe actually using the Holy Ghost is a "dial". I believe you have to use it, not just initially receive it. I also believe you can't get to true holiness without it either. It doesn't say they received it, Jesus gave it but they did not yet receive it until 10 days later. Receiving and falling is the same Acts 8:15-17, it's interchangeable.
OneFaithAndOneAccord 6 months ago
@OneFaithAndOneAccord The Holy Spirit is described as a wind or a breath, & John 20 says that Jesus BREATHED ON THEM & said, "Receive the Holy Spirit." It doesn't say He was going to breathe on them later. I think SOMETHING happened right on the spot. The Upper Room is NOT the first time they ever had any of the Holy Spirit in them. They were healing & casting out demons, making good decisions about replacing Judas and other stuff that PROVES they had SOME. And they get filled AGAIN in Acts 4.
fotm1 6 months ago
Hey, brother Doug. I agree with you alot on this. Do you believe receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost(w/ the evidence of speaking in new tongues) is necessary for salvation? I personally don't believe there is a actual point of receiving salvation. I think there's alot to it. Repentance, Baptism in water, receiving the Holy Ghost, and deliverance from sin that prohibit you from entering the kingdom of God. What do you think about this?
OneFaithAndOneAccord 6 months ago
@OneFaithAndOneAccord I do not acknowledge speaking in tongues as proof of salvation. For the first six months after I was filled with the Holy Spirit, my only prayer language was SCREAMING and travail - and I had lots of charismatics think I was nuts and even refuse to acknowledge my baptism because it wasn't a language. But I wouldn't trade it for anything, it works better than any tongue I've got since. You're saved when GOD says you're saved.
fotm1 6 months ago
@fotm1 I personally don't believe tongues is the evidence itself. I believe the "sound" of the Spirit is. It could be groaning for all I know. I say tongues because it's the most common. But I believe it has to be something the Holy Ghost is actually having you do with the mouth, not just "feelings". I've seen a brother who received the Holy Ghost at baptism with water and yelling "Ahhh wuhhh!"(I used bad lettering to sound like his moaning, lol) because of the Holy Ghost.
OneFaithAndOneAccord 6 months ago
Doug, how do you answer folks that mention Ephesians 4:5 ( the one baptism verse)?
JaymarkRadio 8 months ago
@JaymarkRadio Do we worship one God or three? If we are baptized into that one God - Father, Son & Holy Spirit - then it's ONE baptism. One process with three parts. One goal with three steps along the way.
How do you answer the folks whopoint out that "baptizo" in Matthew 28:19 is a PLURAL form? That is, multiple baptisms. Some in the past (& currently) dunk people in water 3 times at baptism because of this. I think it makes more sense that it means three baptisms - Water, Spirit & Fire.
fotm1 8 months ago
@fotm1 Awesome answer! I thought maybe that's how it was. You're making a lot of sense on a lot of stuff. Thanks, bro. Wow, that PLURAL word in Matthew has me excited. Koolio! May the peace of Christ be with you. P.S. Sent you a FB message the other day. not sure if you got to it yet. thx.
JaymarkRadio 8 months ago
@fotm1 Hey, I'd like to say that Matthew 28:19 is in the "name" (which is singular) of the One God. No in three names or three gods. "Name" simply means His "authority", "power", "character" that Christ came and made manifest. There is no 3 part formula. There is no contradiction. For in Christ dwelt the fullness of the Godhead. I believe this is why Peter baptized in Jesus' name

My question is, is water baptism unto repentance?
If so, how similar or dissimilar was John's baptism to that the disciples performed?
I don't know if this is relevant, but what did John say for his baptism?
FitnessMinded 7 months ago
Doug I'd like your opinion on something, I'd like to share my view on the "3 baptisms"; I see it like this: the baptism of water is for the repentant. the baptism of fire is for the unrepentant, being the fire of hell. the baptism of holy spirit is for those who have received the first baptism, and is related to the receiving of the glorified body. That is to say, when you're transformed from flesh to spirit, that is your "holy spirit baptism". What do you think? God bless.
Dadutta 8 months ago
@Dadutta I don't think that's what John the Baptist meant in Luke 3:16 at all. We see the disciples in the upper room baptized "w/ the Holy Spirit & tongues of fire." Two things, not one. No evidence that the others that started speaking in tongues saw the fire the same way. I understand about the lake of fire - in the sense that the fire is to burn off the self in us that needs to die, I get it. But I don't think you can just dismiss Luke 3:16 so easily and turn what is meant for good to evil.
fotm1 8 months ago

Mr0Minister0CJWare 2 years ago
Also, what happened when Jesus died and the curtain on the holy of holies was torn in to? I don't remember anyone dropping dead after that.
Jesus baptizes in the fire, right?
And, wasn't there a point at which God's glory left the (physical) temple? What with the trash in the holy of holies and the idol worship.

I have never had a water baptism but asked the lord for the holy spirit and thought i felt the fire. I would like to get a water baptism but when i do, if the church doesn't do it the way you say, should i ask for the cleansing of my spirit with the fire in my head? I'm not really sure how to go about this?

Hi Doug, got a question:
How do you rebuke the following scriptures affirming we are made of 2 "parts" (soul and body) as opposed to mind soul body.
Matthew 10:28, James 2:26
PPeace be with you
RetrospectL 2 years ago
Interesting. One says "body and soul" and the other "body and spirit". The Matthew verse does not say that the spirit can be killed/destroyed - it is the eternal part.
You're into deep stuff now - like what EXACTLY is the difference between soul and spirit.
fotm1 2 years ago
Aye, tnx. I read Heb 4:12 where it says soul and spirit are separate. I am going to study this in depth :)
RetrospectL 2 years ago
When it says "body and soul" it's in reference to sending it to hell. I believe our spirit was severed or numbed or something after the Fall. Although we were designed to be three part beings, we are trapped as two parts. It's only through the Holy Spirit of God that our own spirit comes alive again. So someone whose body and soul were sent to hell wouldn't have had a spirit awakened/restored anyway. See? I think the James verse affirms that we were dead (body) until our SPIRIT is made alive!

**Jesus' Teaching On NEW Tongues**

Yes, I Agree! Can All Speak in Tongues?

In Contrast, The Gift (DOREA G1431) of the Holy Spirit is Given Four times, AFTER Receiving the Word, And, their Baptism in Water!(Acts 2:1-4; 2:38-39; 8:5-24; 19:1-7) Notice the CONTRAST, in the Time, between RECEIVING The WORD, WATER Baptism and, THEN, Receiving the GIFT(DOREA G1431) of the Spirit?
skydiver777 2 years ago
Specifically, the Word Teaches there are TWO Separate Greek Words for GIFT, thus, TWO Separate EXPERIENCES, taught for each one of us?
Have you Received the GIFT(CHARISMA) of ETERNAL LIFE through Jesus Christ Our Lord? Romans 6:23
Acts 2:38 Repent, and be Baptized every one of you in the Name of Jesus Christ, You shall Receive The GIFT(DOREA G1431)of the Holy Spirit!
Have you received the (GIFT- Dorea of) Holy Spirit, since you Believed? Acts19:2 Ask, Seed and Knock?

1 Cor 3:1-23 For no other foundation can man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by FIRE and the FIRE shall try every man's work?

(Part 1) One can NOT say that Jesus is there Lord and then deny it with there actions GRANTED! But Christ did NOT say salvation is a process otherwise those Christians on the day of Pentecost would NOT have had a certainty of the position within the body of Christ (salvation).
WITNESSMINISTRIES 2 years ago
(Part 2) Salvation comes but Christs imputed righteousness NOTHING MORE OR NOTHING LESS! The Apostles said we tell you there things so that YOU MAY KNOW THAT YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. Christ said further that HE WHO BELIEVES AND IS BAPTIZED WILL BE SAVED! (IT IS NOT OF WORKS LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST!)
WITNESSMINISTRIES 2 years ago
(Part 3) Christ did NOT say that if you behave I will save you! Listen to what you are saying here! That if one does NOT grow himself/herself up to certain point (works) he is NOT truly saved. Christ did NOT say that nor did he say beg and pled with me and when I decide it is genuine I will save you!. NO! Christ said depart from me because they trusted in the means of what they were doing (works) to save them rather than the finished work of Christ's sacrifice ALONE!
WITNESSMINISTRIES 2 years ago
(Part 4) Yes development and growth God wants but is something only he can make happen and is an out growth of a relationship with God that begins only after one is born again which is the act of salvation itself!. Even if man forgets God is faithful, even though we may be faithless or unfaithful: He cannot deny Himself. (2 Tim 2:3) SALVATION IS NOT A PROCESS! IF IT WAS CHRIST WOULD HAVE SAID SO! AND HE DID NOT!
WITNESSMINISTRIES 2 years ago

JonW81 2 years ago
I just think that they kind of missed the point of the other two baptisms.
fotm1 2 years ago
Is it possible that what you call baptism with fire is a work of the Holy Spirit to produce good fruit/holiness/usefulness to the kingdom? John the Baptist in Luke 3 seems to refer to judgment based on the imagery of wheat and chaff/unquenchable fire. Compare with Jesus' parable of wheat and tares (Matthew 13:24-30), as both mention gathering wheat into His barn. John's baptism of fire evokes hell and judgment, whereas what you and others have experienced looks like immediate sanctification.
JonW81 2 years ago
Our God is alternately referred to as a "Consuming Fire" AND as a "Refining Fire"! He is both the refiner who sits and watches the silver until He can see His reflection in it - and the unquenchable fire that burns up the chaff.
Yes, what I'm talking about is sanctification.
fotm1 2 years ago
Don't get me wrong, I totally agree with that. I'm just wondering if the fire referred to by John the Baptist is referring to judgment or refinement. Could it be one for the condemned and another for the justified? There's also the fact that he's referring to Jesus as the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit and with fire, rather than the Father.
JonW81 2 years ago
@JonW81-Don't forget that it is Jesus introducing us to the Father & Jesus introducing to the Holy Spirit....So though it does say Jesus shall baptize us with the Holy Spirit and fire....I believe the fire only comes as a result of being in the NAME i.e. character & authority of Jesus AND this is how I believe we are introduced to the FIRE BAPTISM not because Jesus is the author behind it but rather it is in His image that the FATHER starts to deal with us.....HIMSELF.....
MANUAIM 1 year ago
@JonW81-I was also just discussing Acts 4:12 earlier & I am totally convinced that this is not dealing with a "spelling" at all for salvation. Many focus on the water baptism as a doctrine for this...I am totally convinced that this is specifically dealing with SALVATION in respect to the standard of the FATHER!
The Father's standard is Jesus' character & authority! Jesus' name NOT spelling...but CHARACTER & AUTHORITY...this is where we are rescued....YHWH have mercy on us.......
MANUAIM 1 year ago
Funny thing is, the chaff is part of the wheat, until it gets the snot beaten out of it and then gets blown away. This looks to me to be a symbol of the sanctification. The tares go into the unquenchable fire.

They weren't ALL. We can't generalize that NONE of them were saved. David was before Christ. Can't answer that one.
God judges each on the light that they have and how well they have been stewards of what God has entrusted to them.

Is it wrong for people to get water baptized more than one in their life?
freedom4life77 2 years ago
