  • a good hunter cuts out all blood shoot meat at the time of cutting in half and a good clean up of the kill, problem is most hunters treat there meat like they treat there garbige and do not give 2 shits about it, i use to kill and cut up meat as a living and the crap that tried to come in was total sickning, we turened hundreds away, green slim, sand , graval hair you name it, cut out all blood shot right away, it spoils lots of meat if you don't

  • @arnoldcustom too true

  • very informative, best I've seen

  • Hii, awesome demonstration of preparing a deer, you could tell there were many years of practice in this series of videos, thanks for sharing your skill. regards Alan from the UK

  • THANK YOU

  • I realize this is almost 3 years old, but if you're still reviewing your work I wanted to be certain to thank you for a most comprehensive and useful presentation. Nicely done, sir.

  • I appreciate your producing this.

  • you don't need a license to own a gun in the U.S.

hopefully you don't live in some awful place where something like that is required.

If you do, I pity you sir!

  • @kloohooh

actually i know at least in illinois you do, FOID card, firearm owners identification card.

  • thats cool i am getting my gun license and was going to shot wild deer and now its even better of a thought cause i will know how to cut it up as i love deer meat and was a bit scared of that job as i only knew how to cut up sheep cheers mate!!! much appreciated

  • I love witching your videos . It brings back the old days when I was in my teens , I would help my dad cut up our deer. We were not pros but we got the job done. LOL I always wanted to be a butcher and learn how to do it right. Thanks for the videos. -Bob (Pa.)

  • I've always wondered how this is done. Next deer I get, I may attempt to process it myself now that I've seen how it is done properly. It is really generous of you to post this valuable information. Thanks! -Kevin, Tinley Park, IL

  • Great videos, really useful knowledge. How would you go about storing that amount of meat if say refrigeration wasn't an option? Would you be forced to smoke and jerky most of it? Are there any other options? Thanks!

  • personally, just bone the front legs and make it all stew meat and burger, and I would have slashed between the ribs for burger. I would have also done between the upper rib bones and around the top of the back for burger, nothing goes to waste.

  • hou menny killos of meat do you aproxamently get out of a dear. really considdering to get myself a hunting license. sorry for any incoret english but it is not my main launguis.

  • @King666Anu it depends on the size of the deer, also, the older they get, the less desirable the meat is. so if your looking for a meat animal for more then burger and stew meat, look for something no older then 2-3 years and the younger the better. also, anything more then 6 points is not what your looking for when considering meat animals, you get less meat, but it's a lot better, no major chewing required if you get a good young animal.

if considering a younger animal, 75-85lbs of meat is ok

  • Great set of videos. Very informative and extremely appreciated.

  • Excellent resource. I just processed a deer today. This video would have helped me a ton!

  • Thank you for taking the time to post this. Alot of good information.

  • What about the neck?

  • Thanks for your hard effort it goes all long way. Very informative video.

  • Thanks from Ireland, I've done this before but always guessed at it, now I know how to do it properly

  • Very informative, I've seen guys waste alot of deer meat but I never knew how much. I'm gonna try and make my next deer look like yours. Thanks

  • Sir, thank you for your expertise. I've been wanting to butcher my own deer for a long time and with your help it looks more doable with the help of your pointers.

  • Thank you for the easy and informational way to cut up a deer. You are so clear and very easy to understand. My son and I have decided to do our own and this has been the most helpful information we have found. So again, thank you for your time in putting together a fantastic video.

  • first time doing this, thanks for taking the time to walk me through it.

  • I havent cut up a deer in about ten years. Today my wife tagged out so I guess Im about to come out of retirement. Thanks for the "refresher" course.

  • Excellent info here ! Thanks for sharing. I wish I had invested in a meat hook long ago,it would have saved me a few injuries. I never thought of using one before. What is the brand name of your knife ? Did it come origionally in that shape or did you modify it ? I have a Victorinox boning knife that is similar. You make this look way too easy, definately shows who the pro is! Thanks again and may God richly bless you.

  • Thank you for your time.

  • I agree with Chucklebomb 100%. Thank you so much for the knowledge. I am going to do mine myself for the first time and you saved me from a disaster. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Excellent video, very informative. Thanks alot for taking the time to post it. I think I'll have my laptop close by when I finally get a chance to cut a deer up

  • Thanks alot for posting this.

  • Excellent, just the best. What about those front tenderloins, up by the stomach? Most people miss this, but on a good size deer they're worth taking out.

  • Awesome!

  • I found about 3 other cuts of meat watching your videos. Thanks, and very informative.

  • These are very helpful videos. Appreciate you taking the time to share your expertise.

  • Wow thanks that is awesome this was very helpful

  • Really well done video. Made it look simple! So now with about 25 years of practice everyday it should be smooth work. :)

  • its nice to watch a pro do what he does best. great video.

  • I've been doing my own deer for years now, but I'm happy to say that I learned some things from your video. Thanks for making it.

  • what kind of humans are u faggots

  • @cristanoisthebest The kind that would probably kick your ass, piss on your bleeding and bruised face, then have a whisky sundowner while laughing at you. Keep you ridiculous comments to yourself, this is a very good video and very helpful to a lot of Real Americans.

  • @cristanoisthebest We are the kind of humans that when civil unrest strikes, we will be able to survive off of the wild and sit shivering hungry begging for food. Come find one of us, we might even feed you

Thanks for posting the video, I have been butchering my own deer for years, I learned something as well.

  • that is beautiful

  • i am salivating

  • great video very professional and informative. I have been looking for just this type of video for a long time. Thanks

  • thanks man... very informative and helpfull to us normies

  • Outstanding videos!!! I'm brand new to deer hunting and last year I spent the better part of a day and a half doing what you did in about 40 minutes. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and skills! Looking forward to using it this year.

  • wow. very good job. you are a pro and good guy for putting this on youtube. thanks.

  • Fantastic video, I'd be interested in any sausage making making or jerky that you may do.

  • cheers, thanks very much

  • Thanks for your video!

With your help I finished butchering up my deer, albeit a little slower than you:)

  • I learned a lot from watching this. I am very impressed with your skills in butchering, but I think the best part of the video is that you explained every part you cut off. I learned that I had part of a leg for dinner tonight, (BEEF, NOT DEER). Anyway, you definatley have great skills and thanks for the upload!

  • Real nice video. Great job.

  • this is a great video it helped me a lot

  • One of the best instructionals I have ever viewed on utube, thank you. I think if more people viewed this they would understand why folks love to hunt and eat venison. I too would buy the DVD, great job.

  • That meat hook looked handy, I'am gonna get ahold of one this coming year and give it a try. I loved the video. very informative and your camera man did a great job letting us see the meat and how you cut it. thank you.

  • this video was such a help. i got my first archery deer this year and with the economy i would not of been able to afford to have it processed. your video was easy to follow, easy to understand and more informative then i would of ever imagined. i will refer all my hunting friends to your videos. hope to see a DVD soon

  • now this is what im talking about!!!!! great videos!!! behold i have subscribed lol

  • Excellent video! Excellent explanation on the meat sections. The best online video of meat processing that I have seen. Thanks

  • Thank you for making this. This will be my first year hunting and I had no idea what was involved after you take the shot and field dressing the meat. I'm going with a bunch of guys who know what their doing, but now I wont be totally ignorant to the process. I appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge.

  • Thanks so much for posting this. I learned a lot. :)

  • I've always cut up my own game animals and I have to say THANK YOU because I was just cutting and wasting alot of the good cuts on grind or jerky now I see how to make them again thank you

  • Thank you very much sir.

  • Really enjoyed this series and learned a lot. Thank you for your time in doing this!

  • all i can say is wow.. what an informitavive series! i have never shot a deer yet but in anticipation of harvisting one this year i watched all of your videos. excellent! i now know what to do when i get one. you have my utmost respect and thanks!

  • Thanks fella ~ those 4 vid's were awesome.

Definitely going to process my next deer myself now.

As someone else commented, if you made a set of DVD's you'd have a pre-order fro me straight away !

Thanks very much for sharing your knowledge!

  • That "arm" bone is called a humerus. I always think of how peoples little biceps are humorus on their humerus. The "shank" section would be the raidus and ulna.

  • Your expertise will be put to good use. Thank you for taking the time to show the next generation how it is done. This is the best video I have seen yet on the subject. All the best!

  • I just spent 40 minutes watching these videos. And that was a 40 minutes well spent lol

  • thanks for the great job done on this vid im going to refer to it when i go and butcher my own this year! .. im guessing and Elk would be the same

  • Thanks for posting these videos. They are great!

  • Excellent video. I will be trying this.

  • is it common to harvest any of the organs like the tongue, heart, or liver?

  • great stuff learn a lot.Many thanks

  • Wow thank you so much! Very informative, and the experience you have helps a lot!

  • great thank you

  • just wondering would a person butcher the same?

  • That shoulder blade trick was really something.

  • GREAT VIDEO!!!!!!!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH for your vid !! I took my laptop out to the garage and followed your instructions. wow! what a difference over the last deer i hacked up. my son stopped to help some lady who had just killed her toyota with this deer and he brought it home to me as fresh roadkill. WAY more bloodshot than a bullethole. had to trim off a lot. broken femur, knee, ribs. was grateful for the meat as we saw nothing with antlers this past deer season. maybe bowhunting next year.

  • Awesome! Making plans for next year to try my " hand " at it.

  • what a great informative video. definitely helpful. thanks

  • Thank You very much!

My own previous attempts at butchering venison were very rough.

I am looking forward to the next one,I feel I've learned so much from these

  • very good, thank you!

  • Great Vid! Thanks alot. If I had a kitchen as big and a hook to hang the deer I would try this. I agree with yani365 about the sound and video quality but what a great and informative video. Thanks alot!

  • Thanks again! best videos on you-tube!

    shane

  • Thank you for your intrest to help others.

  • ive been butchering my deer all my life. thanx for the video i learned a few cool tricks.

  • Enjoyed this series. Thank you for showing how to do it .

  • I want to give that guy a hug.

  • Thank-you very much for the tutorial.

I watched my Dad do this years ago.

His job was pretty rough but it all got eaten as we had 9 in our family.

The beauty of the video is that we can go back and watch it again and again until we get it.

Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

  • I've never shot a deer nor field dressed one but after watching this video I do not understand how people can go hungry. This video has to be the most informative video on YT... THANKYOU!!!

I will remember these steps if I ever go hunting ;)

  • That was so informative! It is so important to hear from a professional.

BUT: While the shooting of the video was great, the sound was poor. Also, the quality of the video was poor. Yours is the most informative and professional deer butchering video on YT. It would be great if it was at a higher quality of production!

    Thanks again!

  • Thank you. It was a pleasure to watch a professional work.

  • Awesome vid. I really enjoyed it.

  • Thanks! These skills are important to pass down. We appreciate your help.

  • This guy is my hero.

  • Very helpful and informative. I just bagged my very first deer this morning! 9 point whitetail! Going to be butchering the deer tomorrow with the help of a butcher, and I am sure this series will have helped me immensely!

  • just watched all four parts....i'm going to be a champ at this now!...how many pounds of meat do you usually pull from a deer?

  • I agree 100% with michigan, I like mine clean.

  • Very Good Video, For you guys doing 1st time....get rid of all the white stuff, the gamey taste

is from thew sinew and tallow he leaves on. A fillet knife works well, pretend the white/clear is scale/skin, your meat will taste 100% better.

  • Great video, Thanks.

  • Great vid man - I've got 4 deer so far this yr & i've got one out hanging in the barn that i'll be butchering myself as a first time - the rest i brought to my normal guy to do - but i'll be using your videos as a guide/how to as i go along - You've cut it exactly how I wanted it to turn out too so thats cool.. Anyways - I'll check out your other videos later so untill then 5* & take care from Mich..

  • wow, got alot more meat off that doe than i thought it would... now im hungry lol

  • Thanks for the video, i watched all 4 parts and just butchered my first deer a few hours ago and it went just as you showed me. I even had my laptop right there so i could reference the different parts as i was cutting. Thanks so much!

  • Thank you very much! I watched all 4 segments and this was so useful and informative! I now kind of wish that I knew more about meat cuts to be able to label the cuts better and to know which cuts came from where. I will have to watch over a few times to get all of the information down, but with confidence I will say that I feel that this is something that I can do at home. One question: how do you propose for adv joe to get an area to hang meat pre butchering?

  • I just have to get a Deer ! lol,great job!

  • very good job... watched all 4 sections and went from never butchering a deer to now i just might be able to do it. thank you for the videos.

  • all the white fat you see esp on the ribs is TALLOW dont let that into your grinder! it will ruin all your burger- not a single oz. of deer fat goes in my burger.

  • My pops was a butcher, and was trying to teach me about cutting up cows and deer. I never really payed attention. I regret it now; big time. He was killed in a car accident in April 2008.

I'm happy this video is around because you cut with confidence, alot like my dad, and not to mention the constant sharpening of the knife really takes me back.

What I didn't pick up from him, I'm picking here.

    Thank You.

  • good job! thank you, I learned allot.

  • I gotta tell you bud, i'm a butcher too and also work in a public market. The series of videos you posted were the best i've ever seen. Great job!! However, not everybody is gonna be able to work a knife like us, but practice makes perfect.

  • thanks for the time you took to make this video. very nice.

  • Great videos! Thanks so much!

  • Just finished, not my first time but it sure came out in a nice neat pile this time.. Ran the video on my lap top while I was doing it. Great job. I am all for a dvd.

  • Great to actually see how its done or should be done.\Thanks

  • thank you for the post.

  • I can't thank yall enough for posting this, I wish I could study under the gentelmen doing the cutting in the videos. Something tells me he could provide a wealth of knowledge of how to process just about any animal one could bring down in the field. This series sure will help the end result of my deer season this year.

  • very nice series. i especially liked the work with the boning hook. i've never seen anyone use one of those before.

    thank you for posting this!

  • Excellent

  • Great series! Thanks for putting this together.

  • That bone in the front leg is the humorous bone in a human by the way, the shank would be the Radius and ulna.

  • Excellent! I have watched most of the youtube vids on this subject and this series is the best I've seen yet. I will definately subscribe to your channel. I on;y wish i could get this series in mgp format so I could save them to a disk.

  • Thanks! I have always been very efficient at quartering up a deer or hog but not cutting it up into particular cuts.

  • very helpful

  • Very nice thank you

  • That was a wonderfully informative series of videos. Thank you very much for sharing!

  • Awesome. definitely simple yet detailed and very informative. Thank you.
