  • How adorable... even as a 13-year-old boy, he sounded just like a professional. I'd love to watch the rest of the concert if you have it...

  • perferct®

  • hahahaha do you know something about piano??? it is perfect, this is the most difficult piano concerto, much more than rach 3, ask to diferent pianist if you dont belive me. This is incredible good played.

  • Having played both, Rach3 is about 3 times as difficult as Prok3. Also Prok3 is one of the easiest to put together with orchestra, where Rach3 is one of the hardest.

  • Yes you are right. Im sorry I thougt it was the 2nd prokofiev concerto. The 2nd is much harder than Rach 3, this one is not. Im agree with you.

  • Actually I play Prok2 as well. I still think Rach3 is a lot harder.

  • Well I have never played them but I have talk personaly with Lugansky and Patricia Garcia, so they said me prokofiev 2 is the most difficult one. No cuestion Rach 3 is a mountain, but technicaly Prokof, Im almoust sure is much much harder. Anyway, I think the 2 concertos well played are the 2 most difficult, congratullations, you have to be a really good pianist for playing both.

  • My recording of Rach3 is on youtube, type Sean Bennett and Rachmaninov 3rd to find it.

  • According to my teacher (who has huge hands that can easily span some of the chords that make the Rachmaninoff so difficult) the Prokofiev 2nd is probably the toughest piano concerto in the standard repertoire.

  • im going to have to disagree with you , rach3 is a hard one but prok 3 isnt any easy walk in the park seriously at least try to here it from a better pianist like Alexander Toradze, his prokofiev is the best recorded.

  • May be it's possible that he wasn't ready for that yet, but, who decides when?, I really Love the way he Plays this concert, all notes are there and que way he uses the pedal is great! Better than other pianist!.

  • he looks too nice!!!!!!!!!! =P

  • wow he's so young and he plays really well.

  • I saw him play this yesterday. I was totally gobsmacked!

  • this piece is unbelievably difficult, both for the hands, brain, and the heart/soul. i personally think he wasn't quite ready for this piece yet. even though he plays through the whole thing well, you can tell he's not 1000% in control of it like he was with the chopin concerto at this age. either way, glad he survived the childhood prodigy stage, cause today hes the best.

  • i agree, he's not very good on this one. And to be honest, the orchestra's balance wasn't so good either, the parts where they come they are too soft so we hear more of the piano chords. Conductor's taste?

  • At this video Evgeny Kissin is at 11 or 12 years old! And he is unbelievebly tallanted and good pianist from these ages till nowadays - at 36 ! He is the GREATEST I LOVE him!!!

  • Nah, he's not quite that young. Probably more like 14 or 15. When he premiered with the Chopin concertos he was 12 years old. This is of course very good playing for a boy that age, but this is still not one of the best performances of Prokofiev's 3rd around.

  • my favourite performances of Prokofiev's piano concertos are The Kun Woo Paik, with Naxos...

  • my favourite is with Gary Graffman and George Szell....not on youtube sadly :( but absolutely stunning!

  • he's 12 or 13... he's still really young

  • How old was he? He looks so young.
